My granddaughter and I were out, too. She decided that it was "NOT COOL" to wear a rain suit and a Save Phase helmet until the rain hit us hard. She learned fast. Caught only dinks and came in only after an hour of fishing. I agree, Phil needs to had some floatation material to the OA hat. Maybe a bobber on top of the hat.

To quote the letter: All signs will be consistent with the US Army Corps of Engineers Sign Standards. - An agreement was reached in a meeting with representatives of state agencies and the US Army Corps of Engineers that would permit marina concessionaires to restrict activities to their patrons only by posting restriction signs. The restrictions would apply within 50 feet of storelgas docks, restaurants docks, and boat storage docks. The restricted areas would be identified by the posting of standard Corps signs. The first sign message is for placement on docks with an alternate message for placement of breakwaters and at buoy lines where appropriate. "Restricted - Marina Customers only within 50 feet from this dock". "Restricted - Marina Customers only beyond this sign". As anyone seen these signs? The wording must be exact and be approved by the Corps. As far as I am concerned, this letter will go in my boat and if the signs I see do not comply with this letter, then the Corps has not approved the commercial area and I intend to fish that area. I will not give copies of this letter to commercial area owners. Let them do their own homework.

Add the Branson Belle to that list. They have posted signs, as well.

Well, as I have stated many times on this forum, close a few coves each year (no ramps, resorts, docks, etc.) and prohibit fishing only during the spawn. Just bouy off the entrance to these areas. A few examples in the Dam Area are Jakes, Beardsley, and Brushy. Concentrate and emphasize brush pile plantings in these coves to help the fry hide during the spawn. California does this every year on their trophy lakes (Casitas and Castaic) and these lakes are tiny. This way everyone can enjoy the lake during the spawn and fish in these restricted areas can have a chance of survival and replenish the lake.

I think that is some form of a "Dear John" letter. Sure sounds like one!

I previously used the side method, but it is more difficult than the mouth method. The mouth method allows you to hold onto the fish easier during the procedure. Plus, I have read that sometimes fish will pick up a disease at the insertion point into the side. The mouth method is safer for the fish. There is a link within my link....be sure to click on the newsletter link Link and both procedures are discussed.

Great job Techo! Here is the best procedure that I have found for fizzing a fish. I use the through the mouth procedure. After inserting the needle, I hold the fish and needle underwater and watch the bubbles come out. I don't take all of the air out. Leave some in. When the bubbles start to slow down, I will stop, but I will check the fish periodically and sometimes I need to fiz the same fish again. I rarely lose a fish. Fizzing Link Here!!!

Crickets, crickets, and more crickets will get the gills. Not just gravel points, but bluffs, too. Cast to the bluff wall and let it sink. They usually are from 15-20' deep. I use a split shot rig to get the cricket down deep.

Looking To Buy A Humminbird 998C
CaptainJoe replied to Trolling 4 Walleye's topic in Table Rock Lake
It is a three year warranty. Two plans can be purchased. Basic: $99. Premium: $149. Both allow trade ins on the spot but the premium plan also covers accidental damages. As you probably know, Lowrance had some problems with their entry units and that is why I bought the warranty. I did not want to send a unit back to Lowrance and then they send me another one. I have used the BPS warranty twice and my units were exchanged right on the spot. -
Great job Champ and Donna....great work!

Looking To Buy A Humminbird 998C

StarMarineDepot is a storefront. BPS in Springfield honored their price, so the 100 miles is not an issue. Amazon is not a storefront. Finally, here is what I did. BPS honored StarMarineDepot price. I saved $250 on the HDS-10 and $175 on the HDS-8. I also did not have a BPS Credit Card, so I got another 10% discount on my entire order. Finally, I used the money I saved and purchased the BPS warranty. With the BPS warranty, I can take the units back to Springfield and they will exchange it on the spot. Finally, I paid off the BPS credit card then cancelled the card because I hate Bank of America. Good luck, -

A lot of them don't have a store front, but they can be found. For example, www.starmarinedepot.com is the storefront I used and saved over $250.00 on my HDS-10. -

Find the lowest price you can find on the Internet, but make sure that the entity has a store front. If they have a store front, print off the price and the store front's information and take it to Bass Pro Shops and they will match the price. -

Could you post some pictures of the boat? Thanks

The cold fronts and storms pushed them out. They will be back when it warms up and don't forget that the full moon is April 28th. If we get both to occur at the same time, look out!
-
Got mine. 225 Merc on a White and Gray Triton with a big, tall dude on the front. Also have a pair (not shown on picture)on my pontoon.

Jason, was going to call you, but trip was with friends and we had no idea what time we were going to come in. The storm then dictated our departure. It was a BPS White Tender Tube rigged on a dropshot with only 3" between the hook and the 1/4 oz. dropshot sinker. My SECRET way to keep the bait in the bed and piss off the fish at the same time. Don't tell anyone, OK? Nice meeting you on the ramp.

Water Temp: 64-66 Air Temp: 61-79 to 59 in P.M. Wind: All over the place and 0 to 60 mph Skies: Wait 5 minutes and it will change again Went out with clients yesterday and what an experience. It was cloudy, it was sunny, it was windy, it was calm, it was raining, it was hailing, it did everything. We managed about a dozen fish with the biggest being this 4# plus smallmouth. Did not get time to weigh him because I caught him a few minutes before the big storm. We took pictures and raced to the State Marina. You can see the storm rolling in behind me. Fish were caught on beds with a white tube and the others were caught with a inline spinner, a Zara Spook, and a jerkbait (smallmouth).

The electronics don't always work, either. I have the Sirius Weather Package and all day yesterday, my alarms were going off when a storm or lightning approached. The watch boxes lit up my graph. It worked great all day, but during the last and biggest storm of the day, my system DID NOT set off any alarms, the watch boxes never lit up, and my graph only showed light rain during the storm. Of course with this storm, we did not need any electronics. It was clear to us to "get out of Dodge." We made it to the State Marina no wake bouys when it started to rain and we made it into a slip just before the major downpour and the hail. We watched the roof panels being blown off of the houseboat dock. Bottom Line: Use the electronics (GPS, Weather Satellites, etc.) as a guide and DO NOT depend on them to always give you accurate and up-to-date information. As Redbud says: Be careful out there.

Why Are The Bass Eating Almost Everything We Present
CaptainJoe replied to CaptainJoe's topic in Table Rock Lake
I haven't been in 40' of water in over a week. I am too busy catching them in 10' or less. And, in 10' all the fish are "giants" on the HDS-10.
