  1. Cold front will most likely shut things down for a day. I'm hoping to find some upper 50's water temp saturday, but I am not sure if it will exist??
  2. I caught two limits last week by the steel bridge. Some very nice females and their eggs were a long ways along. The typical whitebass spawn lasts about 6 weeks total. So the majority of the fish spawn sometime in the middle of that segment. Usually goes the last two weeks of March and all of april.(Give or take a week) I have typically done the best the second week of turkey season. I believe this is when most of the fish are finishing up spawning and are really hungry. The river is full of whites right now and it will be really good for the next two weeks. Still somedays are still better than others. I like to move upstream as April goes on.
  3. It's the same a price branch. There is a long pennisula that comes out into the main lake. Lots of timber in there and it goes a ways back.
  4. What are you fishing for? I have caught a lot of crappie there under the lights and I have also done ok on bass from time to time.
  5. I recommend spraying yourself with garlic spray before every outing. Keeps bass from winding you.
  6. Next to pole timber
  7. Some buddies and I had 33 crappie and 17 whites under the lights on Tuesday night. We also pulled out 3 nice walleye. Fished from dark to about 11:30. All caught on minnows, 20ft of water, varying depths on the bites.
  8. Any word on the Thursday Bass Tournament BOB?
  9. around Aldrich
  10. Caught our 45 in about an hour. It was fast and furious. Could have caught 100's more. Find clean water around the river and you'll have a blast. the females hadn't spawned yet but they were close. I'd say another week or so of good fishing. I was taking the pic so I let my ex-studets get the glory shot.
  11. Caught a limit last night. They were all males. It should be really good for the next two weeks.
  12. Jodee and I will be in . Try to film shooting something else in your house for entertainment purposes.
  13. I doubt it is illegal to sein a private farmpond. See people do it all the time when they are getting to rebuild a dam.
  14. My brother flat tears up the flat heads in late may and early june around baxter. ITS NOTHING FOR HIM TO run two lines and have 6 or 7 5to15 pounders a night. Its a lot of fun.
  15. Traveled up a creek. Found 60 degree water and flooded bushes, the bass were there. Caught 10 keepers... best five probally 13-14 pounds. Could have caught a bunch more but i may fish a tournament this weekend???
  16. A fawn this time of year is in no need of its "mother" to survive. Most of them are already run off by their own "mother" or a buck pursuing their mother. That is nature. Actually by killing their "mother", oneshot probally gave all deer in the area a better chance of surviving as killing mature does that are successful at reproducing is the only managment technique proven to prevent overpopulation and disease. Thanks, oneshot for helping the deer herd. Also, deer have no feelings, and will not even remeber their "mother" for more than a couple of days. It is no unethical to shoot any deer in a legal method and to imply so is irresponsible.
  17. In my honest opinion you didn't adjust to the changing conditions. Such a drastic change in temp and pressure will change the bite for sure. In order to be a successful tournament fisherman you must adapt to the changing conditions. Just my two cents. I caught them last night close to cover, any type of tree structure was holding fish. You had to bump the tree to get bit. Hope this helps.
  18. Thanks Bob. You think you'll give me some hints even after I took your money last week at the tournament. I'm Jodee's partner. Couldn't fish this week due to Basketball stuff. I hit the walleye today and caught one nice one. Guess i need a little help.
  19. Thanks. But I already missed the departure time on that one!
  20. Thanks again. Really good info from both of you guys. We tried the spoon but pretty much struck out on that one. We were kind of proud of ourselves for catching any at all. I expected to get skunked. What tips do you have for fishing a spoon? Do you use a jigging spoon?
  21. Thanks. That helps. Anyone else have anything to add??
  22. Heading to the lake tommorrow. Should I focus on the mudd flats or the points??? Where would you go??
  23. My brother and I went drop shoting for Kenntuckies yesterday for the first time. We caught several on the crawler, most right at keeper size with a few a little bigger. We did manage a couple on the finesse worm but we had a couple of questions about fishing them. First, what is our choice color? Second, when you feel the bite or your line goes slack, do you immeditely set the hook, or do you give a little slack and then set the hook(more like texas rigged worm fishing)? We were having a hard time hooking up with the artificial worms. Last, how do you rig your finesse worm on the hook? Thanks.
  24. I've been killing them on the smoke color. I agree, with the previous post, I usually buy 5 at a time
  25. Anything special to sign up, or just show up? How many boats are you expecting?
