I have never fished beaver, but I would assume that it would be alot like taney after dark. When the streamer bite is working, there is probably no better way to catch all sizes of fish. From what I understand, beaver does not have the population of fish that taney has, and most certainly alot fewer big fish. I am not much on streamers so I fish sowbugs and scuds at night and it too can be an effective way of catching fish. I use two methods, under a lighted indictor in the riffles and tailouts, and a "snipping" method similar to streamer fishing. Both methods work for me. Now, the sowbugs I use are big, size 10 mostly but sometimes an 8. Does not matter so much what color as long as they are grey or tan. Between the end of july through november last season, I caught 52 fish between 3.5 and 12.5 using these two methods. I am not sure that one method is any better than the other. Had probably 2 handfuls of fish between 5 and 7 lbs.
