Question About Rod Tips, Grooves, And Line Choices

A lot of new rods have gone to those cheap metal guides. Ugly sticks, bps micro lights, etc. I hate em for the fact that you will be changing the tip top for getting grooved, even with just using monofilament. Sure they look sleek and light and newer then ceramics, but I guess they didn't test them under real fishing conditions. -
I talked to a friend who caught 2 in the honey creek area this spring. He said that was his first time catching any smallmouth out of the lake in 25 years.

Al, I would have to guess the photoshop one would be the topwater bass. Both of them are great work, I just like the looks of the swimbait one better.

Bass taste pretty darn good to me without anything special. I've always thought it funny, how so many people have a delicate taste bud for fish. Had some fried fish and bait last night. Catfish and chicken livers, yummy! -
Yeah, we always find a way to catch some fish. I think they were having more fun exploring the log jams since the fishing was a little slow.

Cheap is not bad. Chief picked up a couple casting rods at bass pro for like 10 bucks apiece. Next time I get up there I need to pick some up.

Was this a 25 dollar combo, or just the rod? Might be a decent rod, most cheap combos come with a 2 piece rod.

It probably is Ness, but I was just quoting the neighbors wording of it caused it sounded better. Haha It had the young boys in the neighborhood hearing things and telling each other cougar stories for a week!

Here is a picture of a snake my son Jack and I found Saturday. We were along the creek but right next to the park area. A few people saw what we were doing and came over to look as we walked away. Not a minute passed and there was a whole group of adults and kids yelling copperhead, kill it, and objects were being tossed at it. I was proud of my boy when he walked over yelling at everybody to leave it alone. They finally left it alone after a nine year old gave them a scolding.

Nice looking snake. We seen a bunch the other day on the creek but nowhere near that colorful.

Some neighbors claimed they saw one a few weeks back about a hundred yards from my house. Claimed it was a nursing female with tits. Another neighbor on the other side said he has seen 2 in the last couple years in the local area, not at the house. ? Don't know. This is in the sw corner.

This one sure was! Haha. He scared that big guy on the show so bad they packed up and left the area.

Yep. Once you get Ozark Anglers set up and logged in it's very easy. it took me a few searches to find OAF in their database.

Thanks griz, but I got one already. Like Wayne mentioned it could be used for a solo. I tried mine out as a solo a few times, but with the extra weight combined with lots of log jambs in my creeks it wasn't what I wanted. If someone floated larger rivers it would work out great.
