I fish when I can, and enjoy it all. But if I had to choose it would be Spring Fall Summer Winter

Thats cool, nothing like a quiet fishing float. Last time I was at cherry corners this year, it was packed full of people.

I will try and be there, have to check if I can get the day off work. KC, Im sorry you wont be able to make it down for the float. Ollie, Shoal is not all that bad, just think of it as a fishing challenge. And like Chief said, its more about the people and food.

Chief, we did get a lot of rain but boy did it come down in a hurry. Was able to float yesterday way up high on some secret creek.

Thanks KC, it truly is. Chief, Jack is looking forward to fishing with you sometime. Its getting harder to sneak away and go fishing with out taking both of them now. I am so glad they enjoy fishing as much as I do. I will have a blast watching them catch fish for the rest of my life.

Got the boys on the creek Saturday. They sure had a lot of fun swimming and doing some fishing. They ended up with a nice stringer of panfish for dinner.

Great looking fish. Looks like you guys were doing all right. The boys and I got out and floated this weekend also. Got a chance to talk to the newton county game warden. Hopefully shoal creek will be getting a little more enforcement, to keep the bass fishing enjoyable.

Sounds like you did real well Buzz. I haven't been down for a few years now. My oldest boy went down and camped for a couple days with grandparents and had a great time. He got the trout fever for a while. I think he and I will have to give it a try this winter.

I floated sat. since the fishing was so good friday. Got started about 12 on a different creek body, finished up about 9. Cranks and soft plastics worked well. I love the blueish tint of the spots. The fishings been great this weekend, hope everyone got out some to enjoy it.

KC, Good, I am glad I wasn't alone. Now I know how my son feels when he is in front of our canoe. Chief is a great guide, and wont quit. I was feeling great catching so many fish that I would slack up a little. " you cant catch them with that paddle in your hand " "you better get that rod ready" I wouldn't have it any other way thou, I like being focused when it comes to fishing. I just feel bad he wouldn't let me paddle him around awhile.

Thanks Chief! What can I say, if you get the chance to go fishing with Chief you better take it. We started about 8am this morning after some last minute decision on where we would float. We hit a remote stretch of Spring river and never looked back. Chief started nailing them on a chrome colored old plug of his, so I had to start digging in my box to find a comparable weapon to use. Then we both started boating a lot of fish, nice fish. Colors changed and Chief had to do some digging. Then we played with some variations of soft plastics and jig heads and caught even more fish. Here are a few pics of todays action.

Nice Redfish! Its a lot of fun fishing in the Gulf, I sure hope they get all that oil cleaned up without too much long term effects. I would like to get over that way sometime, I have only fished around the Galveston area.
