  1. You guys suck that claim to be Mizzou fans. You're not true to Mizzou. You CANNOT root for the Gay-jocks.... ever!
  2. Eating my words... (and shaking my head).
  3. Any predictions for the Final Four tonight? I'd bet on Kentucky and Ohio St. Sorry Ness... a true Mizzou fan would NEVER root for the Gayjocks... whoops, I meant to type the name of that fake bird.
  4. That hitch extender served me well when I hauled my canoe out to western Colorado a couple of years ago.
  5. That hitch extender in the pic's perfect for me. It takes seconds, not minutes to put on or take off. Heck... any of you guys who are much more ambitious than me could make an extender your self but I bought mine from Cabela's for just over $100 at the time. I'm a "keystone cop" kinda guy anyway, but my wife and I certainly played the part the first time we loaded the canoe useing the rig that Eric now has. I've got a rubber mat in the bed of the truck and nothing slides around. And of course, a bunch of gear can be stored inside the canoe while traveling as well as outside of it (in the bed).
  6. Ness, that's Don Famborough's evil twin.
  7. Two Rivers canoe & campground have one of the most beautiful locales of any concessionaire in the state.
  8. To heck with Texas and the "little IX". Especially the Beakers. Tell ya what though, it's tough living in KC when you're a Mizzou fan. This has got to be the only place in the state where KU fans out number us. At least I'd hope that's the case. I'm hoping Kentucky blows everyone out in the Final Four and gets this tourney over with.
  9. Mark, I'll PM you within the next few days. You're hitting the Jacks exactly when I love floating it. Late April and May are good depending on conditions for the big girls. But they're in hungary mode and not attack mode come June. And there is a difference.
  10. Yep, you don't need a motor up there so leave it at home. Considering the length of your trip I'd put in at Buck Hollow on 17 and take out at Bay Creek. Great fishing in early June but that section of the JF provides lots of numbers as well as some decent sized smallies. Soft plastics have never failed me up there. You'll see plenty of scenery. Jam-up will be river right. Look at JF maps and mileages and try to camp one night at Chalk Bluff. Bee Bluff another. And use Harvey's or Wendy's to take care of your shuttle. Call each for prices. Just wondering... do you have your own canoe's or yaks? I like to float/fish no more than 5 or 6 miles a day. Buck Hollow to Bay Creek is 19 miles approx.

    Ouch

I agree Wayne. Look... I commend Haith and the players for what they accomplished. But playing a matador defense the entire game thinking Norfolk was gonna finally fade away on their own was a big mistake. Some of the players were quoted as saying that. I just feel some pressure in the backcourt with the speed we have would've thrown them off regardless if we actually got a steal or two converted into buckets. All it takes to rattle a team that is inferior to you is a few different looks. I also semi-agree with you Al. We sucked with the press last year. But only the last eight or nine games. Anderson knew he was heading to Arkansas and I'm glad he's gone. He's a joke and will never lead the Hogs to success with his philosophies. The end of last year he let his players revert to simply playground basketball towards the end of the season. He stood on the sideline and grimaced every once in a while and that's about it. His brain's about the size of one those warts on a hornyhead. Haith did a heck of a job this year and I'm glad he's our coach. But... lose that "deer in the headlights look" and coach them youngters when it's time to coach a youngster. Especially when you get a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament... against Norfolk friggin' State.

    Ouch

I've just come out of my coma that set in as soon as the final whistle blew. We scored 84 points. Just above what we usually score. Problem is we gave up 86. More than we've given' up ALL year. Why did that happen? We were tied at halftime. Haith should have made adjustments to put some pressure on Norfolk in the backcourt. They had NO point guard. What I'm sayin' is PRESS"EM! With P. Pressy, Dixon, Denmon, and English (who would've benifited from playing a wide open game) we could've made it our type of game. Instead, we let a taller team gain confidence by allowing them to bring the ball easily up court and get into their half-court offense. One more thing... Ratliffe and Moore were pitiful against O'Quinn. Kudo's to that kid.
  13. Me and a buddy of mine hiked the trail to Greer a few years back and saw a bear come crashing down out of a tree and run off in the woods ahead of us.

Nice photos! Is that the Castor river?
  15. Numbers over size in my book. Simply, I love the Jacks Fork. Overnighters on the upper, skip the Eminence area. Long day floats on the lower. Biggest smallie I've ever caught is 17 and a half. I was thrilled and it wasn't on the upper. Just fish the time of year you're comfortable with and what works for you and don't measure yourself against others.
  16. Referring to a free flowing stream Wayne?

    Ok Boys

English is good to go from what I've heard today. He practiced at full speed this morning. We've gotta play at a fast pace and move the ball around. Baylor's playing great but we're a match-up problem for them as long as we play at a quick pace. Don't wanna play a half-court game with them the way PJ3 and Acey are playing. Phil Pressey's gotta out play Jackson at point also. Last but not least... Denmon needs to show up. I think Ratliff and Moore will hold their own in the paint. What's got me hacked off today is NO ONE is talking about Mizzou being a #1 seed if we win the tournament. It's all about KU keepin' it, or Ohio St., Mich. St., or Duke. But the commitee has the last say. Last I checked we were fifth in the nation in both polls. If we win we're 30 and 4. KU is 27 and 6. We split with them. Would have swept Baylor and KU lost to them. KU also lost to Davidson at their so-called Allen Field House east.
  18. Very cool! Just got back from Cozumel myself about a month ago but I didn't fish this time.
  19. Actually Time Warner had me stomping around the house like the AFLAC duck monday night. Cable went down and I missed seeing the race...
  20. Everyone was sired by Walt Disney back then...
  21. I'm still proud of Mizzou and what they've done this year. Never thought we'd accomplish what we've done without Bowers. Aside from that, losing at Okie St. and not showing up for either K-State game sealed our fate.
  22. My Tigers manage to blow a 19 point lead and Daytona doesn't happen for the first time in its history. The Mayan's might be right... the sky is falling.
  23. I agree with Watermen's statement that "Stream fishing is fun and that's all it needs to be". The Missouri Ozarks (and the MDC) provide plenty of different types of fishing for everyone. It's kinda weird seeing people questioning one of the best Conservation departments in the country.
