  1. You three should've been with me, Chief, and Buzz after we left. Or the other way around. Holy Guacamole! (my new clean saying here). KC
  2. Try these three spots depending where you're gonna fish. Also, just go to the Pomme de Terre area chamber of commerce for the business phone numbers. Anyway... The Triangle... intersection of Mo. Highway 254 and County Rd. 203 on the way to the Wheatland campground and boat launching ramp. The Trading Post in Carson's Corner... intersection of Mo. Highway 254 and Hwy. 64. Close to the Damsite. Launch ramps at Harbor Marina and Hermitage. TNT at the intersection of Hwy. 83 and County Rd. RB... new store on the way to Lightfoot Campground and Hickory Ridge Marina (formerly Hwy. 83 Marina). My old stomping grounds... Like I said, just call 'em... KC
  3. Should've been a Missouri sweep. Wainwright got my vote. Grienke rules though... his stuff is nasty.
  4. I believe if Matt Cassel played behind the O-line Trent Green played behind, he'd be every bit as good. Matt Leinart went Hollywood right after he was drafted. Maybe his dedication to the game was derailed some. USC's second or possibly even third string QB's are better than most college starters. Heck, he was a third stringer behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, then a second stringer behind Leinart. Look, Trent went to Indiana. Not exactly a powerhouse, but he was drafted. Not sure which round but I know it wasn't the first or second. Vermiel loved him behind a great line at St. Louis... then the knee injury. Then the magical Kurt Warner season. Orlando Pace in his prime at LT protecting his backside. Here in KC... he had the best O-line in football for three or four years. Once Willie Roaf retired unexpectedly, things went downhill from there... concussions to be exact. Wayne and BRBF... in the end, and I know this is a contradictory statement, I like Cassel, but I don't like our new GM and head coach so far. Maybe Brody Croyle could've done just as good as Cassel since we're rebuilding, if he could've stayed healthy. Guy can't take a hit. Money should have been spent on improving the O-line, not the QB position. O-line has been a revolving door, just like the WR's. Cassel took the money, he I'm sure he knew was gonna take a beating. Pioli and Haley have shown me nothing yet... Not one Pioli interview here in KC since the season started! Now... if we beat the defending Super Bowl champs this weekend, I might make a pair of season tickets appear out of my backside sunday! I'm a typical Chiefs fan!
  5. I agree redbird. The o-line is killing our offense. LJ will certainly have better success running behind Cincy's line, at least until he opens his mouth again...
  6. Eric... let's not go back to what that river system needs. Keep doing what you think you need to do over there bud... KC
  7. If I ever catch a "stocked" smallmouth... I ain't fishing anymore!
  8. Cricket... always loved the Niangua in the winter. I'd like to meet up with you after January 12th. And, hey bud... I'm as corney as you! Be a good time.
  9. Brownieman... floated the Current many times, but it's been awhile. I remember parking my canoe in the middle of Cave Spring and everone on the trip caught their limit of goggleye. They were lined up around the spring and when they caught a fish would wing it to me, then I'd bait their hook for 'em. It was September and there were six of us I think. Had a stringer for everyone and the pic we took when we were done looked like a bunch of bananas! As I understand it now... NO FISHING in the springs. Wasn't that way back then. Been fishing the Jacks Fork every year for quite a few years now. Would love to drag Chief and Buzz down there and have a good ol' time next year! Anyone else for that matter. What do you think? June... or anytime next summer? Maybe March or April would work too... it'd be a good time I know! I've got my favorite places to stay down there. KC
  10. That's messed up... hope the chef messes up his next pufferfish.
  11. Now, that's funny right there... Pretty pics Wader... I sure ain't ready for winter though!
  12. Had a dusting here in K.C. north of the river this morning. Melted quick, which is fine with me! Platte county just to my northwest had some big ol' fat flakes yesterday. None for us though until overnight last night.
  13. Jeez.. biggest Northern Rock Bass was from the Big Piney. 17"... 2lbs. 12 ounces! No wonder MDC made that stretch of the Piney a trophy goggleye area. I've caught a couple close to 9 inches, but 17? Wow!
  14. Thanks Chief... don't know where I came up with four species.
  15. Looks like my 13 year old weenie dog! Nice fish bud! KC
  16. Small store Terry... flies are now tainted . Looking forward to meeting you in the future... KC
  17. I'm the oldest RIVERRAT? Well, I'm taking pleasure in learning and hearing from the "REAL" riverrat's on this forum. Happy B-Day guys!
  18. I'm thinking (for once!) there are actually four strains of goggleye; i.e. rock bass. Chief or somebody will probably clarify...
  19. Yep... G.I. BUZZ is my hero! After he changed his avatar I asked him what that was... my eyesight is horrible. He let me know what the deal was and didn't even laugh at me... now, that's a true bud!
  20. WHO IN THE HECK IS BUZZ?
  21. Great day down at Roaring River to everyone who came and thanks to those who conjurred up the idea 5 or so years ago. Nice to meet you guys and gal (DD'S MC) in person. Looking forward to making as many gatherings as I can in the future. KC
  22. Cricket, now that's from the heart! Great post... I've also learned alot here, just gettin' tired of the two guys I have been fishing with from this forum giving me "noogies" after my mistakes... KC
  23. No trap's from me bud... I'm here for fish talk! This forum should, and I still think is, about sharing information about fishing. I've been lucky enough to have met a few of the guys who post here. Looking forward to meeting even more this weekend at Roaring River. There's almost 10,000 people on this forum, but I'm guessing 50 or less regularly post. Wish there was more positive input instead of the stuff Bucks-Hot-Dad brings.
  24. How about we talk about some fishing trips Ness?
  25. Have a great day guys (by skipping work and going fishing !). KC
