  1. I've slept on your furniture you big OAF! What's OAF stand for?
  2. Wondering if anybody on the forum has ever fished the Gunnison down in the Black Canyon? My wife's cousins have hiked down for years to fish it. Four hour's down and eight back up. They've got some mounts on the wall from their trips. I've been there but haven't hiked down to fish it. Took some video with my father-in-law holding the back of my jeans while I hung over the edge. If ya ask me... that's a pretty good father-in-law!
  3. Hope you've got them picked up next time I wake up and head for the coffee pot...
  4. Jeez Bill... dog doo, squashed doughnuts, bloody fish slinging around, lost rigs, broken rods. How old were these dumb@%*s? I'd of Chevy Chase'd 'em with a crankbait in the side of their head!
  5. I'm cheating... I'll give you my favorite in the end. Taylor River in Taylor Canyon... I haven't fly fished below the dam at Taylor, you guys who do fly fish should though. There's some pigs in there! Texas Creek above Taylor Reservoir. Brookies! Hanson Creek west of Lake City, up to Engineer Pass. Takes you to Ouray. East Fork of the Gunnison above Lake San Cristobal. Awesome fishing and scenery! Reaching a little here, but Hinkson Creek to the east of Lake City... go over the pass and head way north. Follow the couger tracks! West of Creede. Lake fishing? Meadow Lake north of Parachute. Catching rainbows crappie style. Again I cheat... love fishing and eating those brookies! Lot's of place's for that out there.
  6. smjoe, floated the Buffalo this summer. I'll tell ya, all I seen on the river down there was Buffalo canoes. Course, me and my wife were rented a tandem. I loved it, for the sole reason of how my rods laid. It toured great too, but... the water was up and all I had to do was rudder. In the end, I bought an Old Town 174. Craigs List deal. Traveled to SW Mo. to buy it. Kinda wish I would've held out though! Have you floated in a Buffalo?
  7. You're right eric. I don't have the knowledge most of you guys who post on here have about a lot of topics discussed here. This forum is a great learning process for me and I enjoy it. Nice canoe bud!
  8. Hmmm... I wonder if he pulled it's "pinchers" off first?
  9. I'm a Mizzou guy, but you're an AMERICAN. Can't hate ya for that my friend...
  10. Could you say where it was taken? Beautiful color bud!
  11. You WIN ColdWaterFshr! Late this last July downstream from Steel Creek just before Big Bluff... I'll have your new Ranger for you as soon as I see ya....
  12. Wanted to bump this up to see if anyone wanted to give it a shot... KC
  13. Not having fished over your way too much Al, from what I've read about the river I'd guess the first photo is from the St. Francis. I have floated the Huzzah years ago when the kids were little. Maybe the second one is the Buffalo somewhere? I'm just reaching.
  14. Joe, Are you talking about that little bluff where people jump off of... acsessable from the Alley campground? Great little fishing hole when no one's there. But, no, that's not where the pic was taken. It's in Arkansas.
  15. I'll make it easier, it's in Arkansas... now, where would a KC boy fish in Arkansas? You got it, but where's the shot! I will tell you we couldn't canoe it,. It was a wade fishing trip. KC
  16. Neither of those... but this river (well, most rivers) is far from me...
  17. Not the Jacks... but one little smallmouth there! A few better one's just downstream.
  18. Here's the pic... Good luck ... I'm sure many of you have been through here!
  19. You two are killing me! Sure hate to see the heavy clothing... KC

I missed two of 'em. #11 and #17. Sorry... not a Dylan fan! Proud to have made it to 50 though!
  21. How's the striper fishing going? Going with Beaverfever October 23rd. Don't reply to my "general angling forum" post. Hopeing me and my brother-in-law can get our father-in-law into some good striper fishing. It's his 78th birthday present from us... Mark from Beaverfever in boat #2 is our guide for a half day. Can't wait...
  22. Just wondering how the fishing was for the spots? Any big smallmouth caught on the outing? How about goggleye? Matt (the president of MSA) hasn't been on here for a while. It'd be nice to here a report from the event... KC
  23. I had posted on this earlier, a month or so ago. Wanted to get any feed back from anybody who's been lately. We're fishing with Beaverfever and Mike is our guide for the day out of boat #2. Like I said, me and my brother-in-law are surprising my father-in-law 78 years of age (and a lot of life experience ahead of us). A 1/2 day trip on October 23rd! Best father-in-law a guy could have... well (unless your father-in-law is Jon Voight!) Just kiddin'................
  24. Just me, but any species that resides on our continent and happens to make there way to new habitat have made themselves native, not invasive. Species from other countries introduced in our neck of the woods, i.e., zebra mussels, asian carp, etc., are the one's that are invasive.
  25. I fish the Jacks Fork quite a bit. I have always had good luck using an 1/8th oz. bottom bouncing Chompers jighead with either a 4" Chomper skirted grub or a 4" Chomper spider craw. I recently bought a Yum kit from Wal-mart that included some craw imitators with scent packs included in case I needed to downsize. Chomper baits are scented also.
