  1. Nope... foot up your butt.
  2. It's OK flyfisher... These guys show up on here from time to time. Too bad your post turned into this, and it's no one's fault but his. Simple question deserved a simple answer. KC
  3. My father-in-law and I sunk christmas trees for years in a little cove below his place in Hardman Hollow. Weighted them down too. Like Bill said, that's OK. The corp won't jam you for that. Wondering this though... remember the high water? When was it... last year or the year before? Noticed lot's of people in the Knob area dragging whole trees that had gotten hung up on their docks draggin' them out to the middle of the lake and leaving them there. You can't do that can you? I was hoping water patrol would come by, but in every incident, never did.
  4. Know those curves well denjac on 86 from Eagle Rock over to Carr Lane. Hope you weren't swaying to much! Just think... Brett Favre says he's playing with broken ribs. But he's a hell of a lot tougher than me! Wife cracked a rib while tubeing long ago in Shell Knob. In fact, too many trips through the years to the ER in Berryville. Inhale slowly buddy! KC
  5. I'll post it Ed... hopefully with ol' Pa hoisting one like yours! KC
  6. Thanks so much to all of you guys! I will be calling tomorrow and am shooting for any one of these days... Oct. 22nd, 23rd, or 24th. My father-in-law will (you know what) his pants! Hope I didn't wait too long. KC
  7. Nice report Cricket! Man, it's been awhile since I floated CG to Akers. Started doing it when I was 16 (50 now...ugh). In the old days you could swim in the springs (naive!). Worked our way up the cave a little ways there at Welch. Pretty neat. Signs posted now I think for not swimming in the springs. Did you check out the old asthma treatment place and do they still have a sign there concerning the Indiana bats? KC
  8. Thanks Ed... nice fish there! KC
  9. Saw some guys from Illinois a few years back on Truman who made the trip once a year to set trot and limb lines. They slayed the big cats and bled them by cutting them above the tails and having them hang to bleed out. I think that's the ticket for the big ones, especially cats. Crappie, like the others said... just get'em on ice. Trout i've never thought to bleed out, but if you can eat'em the day you catch them... so much the better.
  10. I agree Joe... those two rivers have the clearest, most beautiful waters in the state. EXCEPT... I haven't floated the Eleven Point yet. I've gotta get that done. Guess I need to call Brian down there. The North Fork is very nice water too. I like the smallmouth water. But have floated the lower river plenty in my younger days. If i wanted to fish down there, I'm glad to have another Brian to get info from! This forum is great (for us city boys especially). Thanks to all of you guys! KC
  11. You know... I probably shouldn't post this, but, was floating the Big Piney years back. Came across a "SPEEDO HATCH". Bunch of...... uh........ guys? Maybe I mispelled that. Standing in a big circle hitting a beach ball around, and having fun doing it. Once I got past 'em and emptied the contents of my gut, I realized I should've paddled back upstream of them and did the same! Scarred me for life...
  12. I bought it off of Amazon I guess 3 or 4 years ago. Haven't checked, but probably not there now I guess?
  13. Looks like your buddy is living the "high life" indeed! Nice pics...
  14. Thank you Zach... I was putting on weight eating all that popcorn!
  15. Printed it out and put it in a baggie in my tackle box. Have just started fishing more lures this summer with duel trebles thanks to meeting a couple of guys on this forum. I'd heard of this technique before, glad I have the pics on how to do it... Thanks Al!
  16. Sure that covers it?
  17. Yep, there's a road. Gotta GPS it. Lotta road's on that lower end. But, bigger water... bigger fish!
  18. Yep... probably the same one ringer. I've through the years have seen people sitting in the screened-in porch. An old lady once with what might have been her son or daughter and their husband or wife. Wished that place was mine. And yes... there's a big bluff on the left with a deep hole before you hit the fast water that drops you into the cabin spot.
  19. I served in the USN from 78' to 81'. Two years active reserve after that. Flat screen's now? Wow, how thing's have changed! Kudo's to your son for wanting to serve our great country. Let us know where his first duty will be... KC
  20. Great pics Joe and nice fish! I've always done my best from Shawnee down to Two Rivers. I'm sure Anita at Two Rivers took good care of you two. Did you catch any in that stretch just below that old cabin?
  21. Bill, you are quite the gentleman. One of these days... plus, I LOVE YOUR HAT!
  22. Will do
  23. Thanks Bobber
  24. My father-in-law turns 78 in March of next year. I love this man. He is so much fun. Me and my brother-in-law have always wanted to get him into some stripers. He lived on the lake at Shell Knob (Hardman Hollow) for 19 years before it got too much for him. Taking care of everyone's docks and such. I need some help here on advise for a good guide on Beaver and when is the best time to go. Never caught a true striper myself, only whites and a few hybrids. Whenever the best time is, I'll book a trip for then... Help me out guys... KC
  25. Nice Zach... it would be great to fish with you someday. KC
