  1. Rainbows in Bull Shoals survive fine at 40' to 60' deep in summer so they could find many locations in Table Rock main lake..used to fish them all the time as a kid..survival rate from fish predation probably a greater concern. Primary issue I think is the economics of raising them vs. number of fishermen that would actually fish for them in Table Rock or Bull Shoals. If affordable, I would support stocking..few things nicer than a quiet summer evening fishing for schooling 3lb trout near the bluffs under lights...
  2. same humminbird 998, same down imaging problem..since I got it with a new boat..sent unit into Humminbird..no problems found..assuming transducer..sad that I need to buy new transducer to fix..
  3. Great time. My wife and I enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks to Leonard for organizing and cooking!
  4. Wife and I will be fishing and will bring a mexican dip and chips..
  5. Agree, overall size of evening fish was larger than that caught fly fishing during the day. Perhaps the larger fish are more willing to take off the surface. While healthy, the fish are looking much thinner than this spring when they were fat and sassy. I am wondering if the heat and reduced generation may be affecting the food supply? Still, all fought well and were immediately ready to release.
  6. No generation. Fished 10:30 pm til 3 a.m.with light spinning combo between outlets 1 and 2. After experimentation with some small crankbaits early on, settled on a small floating Rapala, gold color. Action picked up after 1 a.m. Fish wanted it very slow ( basically dead sticking with an occasional twitch). Largest was probably 20" but many above 15". 16 rainbows, 3 browns (nice to see a brown once in a while). Not a great night but enjoyable. Only a couple of folks above rebar, several below..
  7. Thanks, Craig, for providing links to current facts...
  8. Taney isn't water built for jet skis..if for no other reason, unsafe. Believe there should be a total restriction or at least below the Landing....
  9. thanks, vacation..have been fishing mostly around Emerald Pointe and catching a few on wiggle warts and shad baits mostly on points but nothing consistent. Nothing on the bank (at least for me). Most of mine are away from the bank, 8-10 foot deep (green grub)..glad to hear they are around and can be caught by someone who knows how..wish I lived down there!
  10. abkeenan, I have been struggling in the dam area and it seems most info here relates to the ends of the lake..do you have any recommendations for main lake/dam area in terms of depths, baits, based on your fishing? thanks
  11. Good for those making good money, 20 years Army - not much in the bank but it was a good career.. Finally got my first bass boat at 59. Fishing the main lake area around the dam, I am finding fish scattered, best fishing morning and evening with bluebird skies, mainly on shallow main lake points with wiggle warts (green pumpkin) and some sexy shad crackbaits. Water 63-64 degrees. A few on green pumpkin fat albert 5" grubs..hope for some overcast the next few days..
  12. Fished last night below the dam. Found fly box apparently left by accident. Left it where it was until I was ready to go around 3 a.m. Figured it likely belonged to someone who uses this forum. Will be fishing again tonight. My cell - 314-709-1255. Hope I only get one response!
  13. Thanks to all. I like FLO also but none of my money will go to ACLU, Move On.org or other liberal causes inspite of Progressive having the cheapest quote. Appreciate input from this forum on a non-fishing report topic!
  14. Thanks, good info. Have seen US Boat recommended on a couple of websites. Will check out others mentioned here..any other ideas out there?
  15. Couldn't find recent info on the forum for this so appreciate any recommendations. Am buying a new bass boat with 150 Optimax Pro XS to be kept on Table Rock and fished primarily there and Bull Shoals. From the experience on this forum, what is the best insurance company/coverage to use (first time owner)? Thanks!
  16. how about a Mr. Champ?
  17. Hope this topic is OK. Just got this link to vote for a guy who voluntarily made cleaning up our rivers his way of life. He has been nominated for "Hardest Working Do-gooder in America". Know this is what a lot of us believe in. I don't know him personally but he obviously has made an impression on a lot of people. Those who volunteer in this type of work in MO understand what I mean..thanks. http://npp9fn31fuu.mitchumhardestworking.com/
  18. Used both blue and black backed, approx. 3", baits, the blue backed did better...
  19. Hi, was guiding my sister and wife for bass last Thursday in Dam area..lots of Kentuckies on grubs and rattle traps on windy banks..nice 5 lb largemouth caught by the wife on an X-rap fished jerkbait style with short pauses...
  20. OK, had to add these two 24" fish caught last Friday below Outlet#1..there were 4 nice fish but could only get two to bite..
  21. Thanks, Brian. Didn't think to try a hackle. Was trying to fish near the bottom, around the rocks, etc. Flow was slower and I noticed more moss on bottom, perhaps that's not as attractive as the faster water/cleaner bottom on the hatchery side. Thought I might find something big and lazy behind a boulder. Will need to spend some more time over there...nice video Bill, reminds me of some of our trips...
  22. Thanks, Phil. Fished below the dam last Sat/Sun afternoons. Maybe a dozen each day but the good news was, as you have noted, they were healthy and all but two were 14-18" fish. Really pretty and fought well. Question, I fished the south side on Sun to avoid the crowds. Caught from rebar down to the big hole but had only a couple above the island to the cable. Was getting the bait down but wasn't getting bit. Any suggestions from someone who has figured that area out with water running? Thanks..
  23. Sorry, I meant to mention. Caught the 6.5 on a green pumpkin jig, same color hula trailer during the day, flipping trees. The others caught at night on black jig and pig...
  24. Fished the same area (main lake across from Indian Point and Big Indian Creek) Thursday and Friday. Slow but caught one 3lb, two 4lbs and one 6.5 lb largemouth. All big fish genes returned to the gene pool....
