  1. These are exactly the reason I went to super glue and it's been a real help with the sides of the thumbs. So painful. The liquid bandage does the trick, too but I had to reapply in foul weather conditions. The glue stayed on better. About went through a bottle of the "New Skin" during a Central Pro-Am at Beaver years ago. This time the cut was on the ball of my thumb where I feathered line coming off the reel. Could tell the INSTANCE the New Skin had worn off.
  2. Such a smart man I married.
  3. Oh, didn't know you had fished with Champ188 during one of his Super Glue fiascos. Think he glued himself to the side of the boat once. I'm pretty sure his thumbprint is still attached to the hull.
  4. Nah, I'll take a buff. I'm not that far behind abkeenan and ahead of a bunch. I like my chances. ?. I'll bring you a jar. Can you use cortisone?
  5. Do you have a jar of my homemade "pink stuff?"
  6. But I'm required to have a corp pass or pay a daily fee anytime I launch. Must be an add-on charge I'm unaware of to use the restrooms.
  7. That was my go-to until I started using super glue. It's pretty good stuff.
  8. Wasn't open yesterday, the turds.
  9. Oh, pleeeaazzeee, save me some corn salad.
  10. I was so worried I'd lose her before I even saw what I had on, that I forgot to breathe, much less holler. Don't think I had air for a scream. She did not want to come up. Pretty upset a little while later when I had a major head shaker on a crank bait come unbuttoned. I REALLY wanted to see that one. Didn't feel like a drum. I think next time I'll just keep chanting in a monotone, "big one, big one, big one." hehehe
  11. Thank you. My daddy passed when I was only 27, but I still cherish the memories of fishing with him in the ol' green flat bottom on little Black Creek Lake in Texas. I know those are treasured times when your daughter joins you.
  12. Thank you Mr. Bill.
  13. Maybe...maybe not. Thank you. I think we actually "won" it last year, but threw back the winning fish thinking someone would have a bigger one. Won't make that mistake again, I don't care what Champ says. lol
  14. Oh, I'm sure it wasn't your pet bass. Her name was Freda.
  15. Forgot to mention that Champ gave me the bait I caught this fish on. It was late in the day and the last bass I caught, too. He's always working to help me catch them. One thing he doesn't get to do is take over when I have a wild one like this. I think he wanted to, though.. hehehe
  16. Disclaimer alert - as previously noted, I am geographically challenged, especially on the water, so I'll let Champ188 fill in those pertinent details and any other snippets he deems noteworthy. Splashed at 8:00 a.m. and put it on the trailer at 5:30 p.m. Long day and not our easiest ever. Certainly not the numbers we had on Thursday. No wind the first part of the day and ducked in a slip at Big M twice to avoid short showers. Hey, I'm on vacation. Don't have to tough out the rain. Best I recall WT ranged 49.1-52.7. First fish came at 9:15 a.m. Finally got a little something going when the wind showed up. Ended up with 20, mostly spots, no brownies. Five keepers for around 15lbs anchored by this beauty. Got my heart pumping on 6lb line. Sheesh. Had to run around the back of the boat like crazy Iaconelli feeding line. Mix of baits and mix of water - spinnerbait, Ned, swimbait, crankbait...maybe one on a FB jig. Beat the wood again and didn't seem to help a lot. Good looking stuff, too. I was sure hoping to capitalize on the bright skies this morning and run that swimbait through tree tops for a big chomp, but the fish had different ideas. Hope this girl shows up next Saturday for the OA derby.
  17. lol - I told James I thought I'd make another big batch of tater salad. I guess count us in for that. I'll bring it in an ice chest so we won't give anyone food poisoning.
  18. Oh, no. You misunderstood. I meant my, uh, makeup bag! Yeah, that's it. There's plenty of room for glue because I don't wear makeup.
  19. Ugh. Sorry about that. Champ always says boat stands for Break Out Another Thousand.
  20. I try to squirrel away Krazy Glue in my boat bag. Of course, it's not the gel type Champ likes for the Neds, but it's perfect for patching those line cuts and other painful splits on my hands. Has come in handy a time or two when the Ned glue was AWOL or dried up. He's keeping an unopened backup in his new Ned bag now.
  21. What?! No poles?
  22. Besides the fun of catching, we had a nice shore lunch on a gravel bar with OA member Dewayne French. We brought the roast beef sandwiches and he brought the fried walleye. A very pleasant break while we compared catches and baits of the day.
  23. Some people can't spell cat if you spot them the c and the t. I'm a purdy gud spelar, but I need a calculator to add two plus two, so we had to come up with some kind of system 'cos Champ ain't great at ciphering either. Oh, and I'm also geographically challenged.
  24. We are. Played golf today and I found all my ouchies, including a few rod butt bruises from my hulkish hook sets. lol
  25. Maybe boy fisherpeople, but not we girls.
