  4. I recently bought out my dads tackle business. I have a large inventory of crappie tubes, curly tail grubs, bream bugs, splittail bettles and etc. I have decided to ebay his inventory since some of the colors and items you can no longer get. If you are interested go to ebay and do a advaned search for prostrikelures all one word under seller name. Also I have the last of the okie lite slow fall crappie jigheads. They fall slower than any jighead you can find. They are deadly on bedding crappie and bluegill.
  5. People look at me like I am crazy but I get on my hands and knees to sneak up on tailing carp. 99% of the time I fail to get them to eat my fly. But when they do its like hooking a freight train.
  6. I recently bought out my dads tackle business and while doing a inventory I come across the okie lite slow fall crappie jigheads. These jigheads are deadly on crappie this time a year when they are on beds.Bluegill will try to destory them. So I have placed them on ebay since I cant get these anymore I have several to sell. Seller name is prostikelures all one word. You can find this by doing a advanced search and then click on seller name. They are the last and when these are gone there will be no more.

  8. Spent the weekend at Riverside resort with the family. I was kinda shocked to see the resort empty on a weekend but I guess its alittle early. What I did see was lots a fishermen. Most of them using bait. I dont have anything against people using spinning gear and powerbait but DONT CULL!!!!!!! Its aganist the law!!!!! I seen several fish float by me while fishing. Kinda made me sick. Any way the hot flies for me was a olive and black wolly bugger with rubber legs size 10 and y2ks. Most of my fish were caught above the falls. But caught fish up and down the river right in front of the resort also. Had a blast as always!!!! Oh yeah if you smoke while you fish dont throw your butts in the water!!!
  9. FMJ i beleive are illegal to use hunting anything. You must use a expanding type bullet.
  10. Went to the river with Doc Dave yesterday. We waited until later in the morning to leave so the good ole sun could warm up the temp. Well it was 9 degrees when we left and had only warmed in the teens when we arrived. The river looked great. The river is running low and clear and it was a race to get our gear on and get to our hole. Well the fishing was slow. All the fish I caught came on a big black wolly bugger fished very deep and slow using a wet tip line and some extra lead. It was hard to cast because your line would freeze in the air. Also you had to dunk your rod to clear out the ice in the guides. The cork on my rod had alot of ice on it and kept my hand froze. Anyway I caught only a 5 fish limit. Nothing big just stockers. When we decided to go to the truck, while getting rods put away my waders froze stiff and my landing net froze. My wife thinks I am crazy. I just love to flyfish and I love the Spring River. In all we had alot of laughs, caught a few fish and had a pretty good time.
  11. has not set their status

  12. I have a OE and I shoot my 243 barrel with 75gr v-max bullets. I like this load because I hunt open fields and the wind has too much effect on my 22-250. I have hunted coyotes for several years and have killed them with 223 and the 22-250. Most of the time its a clean kill but not all the time. Every coyote I have shot with my 243 has been dead before it hit the ground. My buddy shoots a 25-06 and he is very deadly with it at long range. The 223 will be fine but keep it under 200yds which if you call and decoy that should not be a problem. Goodluck.
  13. You could go with a custom www.g2rods.com
  14. Welcome my wife is from poplar bluff and I am from malden but now call monette ar home
  15. I have found you can even the odds by hunting when it is hot. I mean very hot, find a well used wallow and climb a tree and wait. At some point in the day they will come and use the wallow. Back away a hundred yards and pay attention to the wind. It has worked for me more than once.
  16. Grizzly jigs are king on that lake. Lots on 2 pound crappie.
  17. Your choice of line, rod and reel are all winners.
  18. Spent a beautiful day fishing the Spring River yesterday. I arrived at Riverside Resort around 8am and fished right above the falls. The bite was slow at first I was fishing a olive bh wolly bugger and having no results. The river is up alittle but the water was pretty clear. I was about to give up and move on when I thought I would try dead drifting with a indicator and wham first fish. I stayed in the hole for about four hours catching fish after fish. I met a nice fellow from Mississippi that was camped there and he told me that they caught several the day before on san juan worms. While not keeping count I guess I caught 25-30 fish in about four hours. Another great day spent on the river.
  19. I have enjoyed Terry Beesons book.

  23. I did finally get to the river. I have a houseful of sick people including myself. The day spent on the river was great but I am paying for it now. Anyway started off at Riverside just above the falls with a olive wolly bugger. The trout slammed the bugger for about two hours nothing real big just average stockers. Things slowed a bit and I needed a rest so I drove to Lassiters and tried a y2k and a snail fly. Caught 5 fish there and then the bite stopped. After a hour fishing trying everything in my box I was in need of a cup of coffee and some cough med. I finally ended up back at Riverside catching a few more when my sick body decided I needed to go home. In all I caught and released 37 fish not bad at all nothing big but thats okay.
