  1. Brian, how's the fishing been?
  2. Learned this trick here on OA from Gavin: 3' of leader butt, mono, 6-?" of Seaguar flouro, 12 lb., then fluoro tippet. No breaks or knot failures. I use Perfection loop from butt to leader, triple surgeon's for tippet. This is a nymph rig of course, you go mono with dry. I also break off with snags--trees, rocks etc., not fish. FYI: http://www.flyfishingfrenzy.com/2012/05/16/trouthunter-tippet-fly-fishing/
  3. They work on the White. Not sure if they'll work for Wise though...
  4. Yep, been there a bunch, really like Senyo Laser dub on the flies. There's some interesting crayfish patterns on there also.
  5. Sorry, couldn't resist, an armada of DD's from Mike S., drool....
  6. Thanks for the info, probably do a Chubby M. and a congo hair clouser patter I found. I think I'll hold off on the bucktail right now.
  7. So what's your take on craft fur vs. bucktail? I have some craft fur for streamers also. Ever tried to tie a Granato's Chubby Muffin? Nice sculpin pattern w. craft fur spun into a dubbing brush.
  8. I know, the reverse bucktail thing is tougher than it looks. What type/weight thread do you use? I'm thinking of doing a variation of these in Congo Hair, not bucktail. We'll see. Nice work Brian, big giant flies....yeah.
  9. Once again, great report and pics, getting hungry looking at the camp pics. Uh, yep, never go under 0X for streamers.
  10. Nice blog entry, more rainbow pictures. Not sure on the articulated streamer hook up...Wise or others might be able to shed light. It happened to me one AM on the Current, hooked up several nice browns, all lost by not getting the hook up to hold, mostly Circus Peanuts and Z. Cougars. Fun, but very frustrating. The big brown from March was on a smaller articulated, small #4 stinger in front, 3X long #6 in back, much smaller than the ones I'm saving for the N. Fork. I'm leaning toward another streamer for the Current, which shall remain unnamed at this point.
  11. I missed this one too, congrats Gavin. Thinking about branching out to go after more bass, w. fly rod though, maybe...
  12. Nice work, really enjoy your blog.
  13. Nice, looks like you guys had an uncrowded camp spot. Nice browns...
  14. You go Russ! Way to go guys.
  15. A motley crew to be sure... Excellent report and it looks like fairly consistent action. Wonder what stage/bug they were keying on? More research or guidance from another angler on here. Way to go guys.
  16. Dang! Missed the 'opening day' for the vid...it's all good. Going to try some of these in olive, dark brown, black, tan, yeah boy...the mallard really makes it suspend a little in the water. Nice video again...same story, gotta tie some nymphs up, oops, streamer addiction...
  17. Nice fish and new craft, have you given her a name yet?

    Nice work there!
  19. Yep, that's the best wish, big ol' browns in the 11 Pt.
  20. I feel for you bro. My grandparents would take us to the mtns/rivers a lot. You've redeemed yourself though...
  21. Very nice, have to substitute for the Estaz Lights UV though.
  22. Ouch! Medic!
  23. Nice work boys! Always nice when you develop a pattern for a stream that comes thru.
