  1. Been spilling since early Friday is the answer from the inside. I had no idea. Never did even drive down to take a look. Chocolate milk tastes good, but Taney choco-latte water looks gross to me. Sorry guys.. I dropped the ball on this one. my bad - Brian EDIT - 15,000+ cfs right now due to the gates being open
  2. I voted for ' will make Nov. fishing better '. Table Rock smallies have eluded me for years.. fly rodding for smallmouth is still somewhat of a mystery on that big lake, but speaking of river smallmouth.. different story. The changing of rivers/creeks seems to always make new holes and new timber. I am eager to see what others post on this one. Brian
  3. Currently - 4 units, taney level 710.9 with 11,637 cfs. Lake at 918.99. Doesnt sound like gates open to me.. but I aint standing right there either. Foam out behind your place Phil ? Brian
  4. Am I mistaken ? Did T/R crest out at 919.06 just within the last hour or so ? So 4 units will be the norm... but for how long ? .. 3 weeks or more ? UGH! ... I love to hate this river! I really hate it during these times though. However, I did tie up some bugs and fill a few boxes during all this rain.. and learned more about wrapping up some blanks thru youtube and goldenwitch online. This brown run fishing is going to be rough until Dec or so I bet. Good, cause winter fishing is awesome. But it might way too late brownies. HOW much longer is this water going to run! UGH charlie brown! Brian
  5. Sorry I cant help you wrench, but I wanted to say, laker - you are a true asset to this board. Thanks for being here. I like reading your posts... every one of them. Brian
  6. OK.. so are they going to turn back on the gates or not ???? From this most recent amount of rain. If the lake gets over 920... maybe. Brian
  7. I think we could use a flash update weather report .. for everytime it rains. This is nuts. Some areas out east were expecting 6-8 inches. Wonder what it do for the DO .. and the brown run ? I hope they got enough fish already. Brian
  8. Well it rained a ton.. again... my parents neigbors house flooded.. again. My mom said the railroad ties protecting the darned might have gotten messed up again. Also water in the detached garage, again. Some pics that will emerge in the morning from other areas will be shocking. News crews have some of the damage.. but the water damage will be crazy bad. Brian
  9. I wonder what this current rain willl do to the lake. Thankfully we arent getting the worst of it to our east. Cape G was supposed to get 6-8inches. Kinda puts a damper on fishing. Wind and rain is the double whammy. We'll see. Brian
  10. I used biscuit dough for a spell. A guy told me to grind up the pellet food in it. It worked.. but boy was it rough on the fish. That's back in the old days... in the long long ago. Like 1994ish. Good topic Darren. Brian
  11. It was in the Engler Block. Hawthorn Galleries. I worked for Steve for a bit. Can't think of the artists name... but his stuff was quite nice. Ken something ? I believe you can find his shop up in Springfield now. If you find him.. let me know. Brian
  12. I say nay on the sleeping in the car down there. (The police frown on the idea). And you never really know. Brian
  13. I've seen it dry a bunch. Good to see some flow. Great story. Nice fish. (Those are 'purdy). Brian
  14. I say take it back to where you bought it. Electrical issues are not fun to figure out. Especially when you need it to work, and it doesnt. Brian
  15. I agree with the others.. try it out. Sounds like a good idea. It could land you a big one too. or bigun as you said (No one would bad mouth you by the way.) if they did.. they are full of it, not you Brian
  16. phew... thats good news but didnt it change to 918 ? (perhaps that was the proposed level) ? Brian
  17. My heart skipped a beat. Seriously, I thought my fish got caught from below chute 3. Brian
  18. The big fish moved out, by the way. So all hope is gone now. UNTIL.... ?? Brian
  19. sorry, but to honest.... those are not for accurate at anything just being honest ... Brian
  20. This is great minds thinking alike. Good read.... Brian
  21. So, how'd you do ? Brian
  22. I agree wholeheartedly. With everything said to this point. I will add one extra nugget : To fish the chute with a real broomstick and your line in your pocket is hard, but to rip lips with 2-3 flies - not so much. (The broomstick guy never caught one fish by the way, but he tried). Brian
  23. I remember reading once.. years ago; Rainbow trout like water that flows at them at 1ft per second Brown trout like water that flows at them at 3-4 inches per second Always been proven true in my fishing. Brian
  24. my opinion -- Taneycomo = 5000 + trout per river mile no research here... just a hunch :-) Brian
  25. Any outlook for Roaring River shootout ? Opening day.. best fish of the day buys all the others guys tag money ? That wound be nice. Or other stipulations... you name them ... for a R/R shootout : OPENING DAY c/r season - rain or shine - smallest fish - biggest fish ? - Brian
