  1. Love those GSP's, she could pass for my dogs sister, except mine has a brown tail. I've thought about getting a 2nd dog, but not right now.
  2. White has worked for me in very stained water. But usually silver/brass.
  3. 10 seconds is about the most I can take.
  4. Having Megabass baits in your tacklebox will cost justify getting a plug knocker if you don't already have one.
  5. Budget? I am not familiar with that word.
  6. Yep, Texas rig.
  7. Pheasants cackling in a cornfield.
  8. Well you guys got me all fired up to fish the bushes, so I did for quite a while and didn't have much luck doing that. caught a couple of keepers, one on a spinner bait and another on a creature, also caught a couple of shorts on a Trick worm. Just could not find a consistent bite doing that. Got another 4 bass early on the Ol' Monster on a gravel point, decent keeper sized fish but nothing big. Big fish of the day was an 18" 3 lb. smallie that came on a tube. Did just a little deep jigging, only one Kentuck fell for that, but there could be a deep bite out there, I didn't give it a chance today. Stayed in the bushes for the most part. Water is a bit colored up the White arm, 4 feet or so of Viz. Water temp 80-81. Very few fishermen out today and not that many wake boats either.
  9. Shut out in extra innings yesterday, shame of it is, just about every team in front of them in the wild card race lost also, ugh....
  10. That does look tasty.
  11. And it just happens to be a male and a female.
  12. Yep that's a good point, the pro leagues in the US, NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL all have, for the most part, the best players in those sports in the world playing in those leagues. Watching an MLS game, it feels like your not seeing the best players, going to be hard to get a popular, well attended soccer league here in the US unless it has the best players in the world playing in it.
  13. Seems like the fish have been vaporizing lately, at least while I'm on the lake.
  14. Very scenic shot.

Yes he did appeared burnt out, I was worried that would carry over to the Chiefs job, but it seems not.
  16. You aren't kidding, I have not caught a 4.25 smallie around here. I know they exist in Table Rock, but I haven't gotten one yet.
  17. Sorry to hear he is gone, always enjoyed his reports and he gave me some ideas to apply at Table Rock.
  18. Here's a marinade and baste that's been a family favorite for years. It's great on chicken, it's a thin sauce unlike traditional thick BBQ sauces. I marinate chicken in it for a day, then frequently baste while on the grill. Works well on a London Broil also. http://www.wickersbbq.com/
  19. Going to be some fat trout with all those shad.
  20. I wish I had not seen this. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Megabass_Ito_Shiner/descpage-MBISN.html
  21. They beat them last night, finally moved ahead of Cleveland.

    Chiefs

Good to see Reid is enjoying his job.
  23. I caught fish on them when I was living in Massachusetts. Drag them over lilly pads, then when you hit the edge of the pads, let it drop. Tipped with one of those Uncle Josh white split tail pork rind trailers. It might work hopped down a steep bank here in the Ozarks, kind of like a flutter spoon, but less snaggy.
  24. Don't know if you get the AR Democrat Gazette, but the Sunday paper had a striper article where the writer fished Lake Ouchita. They had success trolling (off a downrigger) a horsehead bucktail jig (white) with a grub type trailer on the jig. White was the color of choice. I've always thought the flashers might work, with a big salmon fly or a squid. I've got about 10 of them (flashers) from my salmon trolling days. Another salmon lure that I think might work are Silver Horde plugs - trolled off a downrigger sans flasher. Heck I bet a cut plug herring behind a dodger would work also.
