  1. Thanks for the advice 97, I bought some 100's suspending, but I bought the pre-painted ones, one of these days I may get an airbrush and do a little painting myself. I don't know if you look at Ebay, but there's a lot of custom painted lures for sale there, lots of Bandit and Rapala crankbaits get repainted. Some of those guys do incredible work, and they can usually get anywhere from $12-20 per lure.
  2. Nice work 97, when you say you tune them, what exactly do you do? Do some of them not run straight, so you need to tune the bill? Or is it a weighting issue as far as getting them to suspend? I am mainly asking about stickbaits, I am thinking of buying some of the Netcraft bodies myself and I am curious to see what may need to be done to them besides painting.
  3. Looking at the graph, it appears that they have reached a little above 1121, which I believe is about as far as they were going to drop the lake level. I would like to get out Saturday, but forecast looks a bit chilly.
  4. I used to smoke, took me multiple tries to finally quit. Best way is cold turkey, when I would quit, I would find myself sometimes sitting there thinking I want a cigarette, when that happened I would find myself something to do, best way to quit is to keep yourself busy when you get that craving. They say it takes 3 days to break the physical craving for nicotine, so set your sights on quitting for just three days. Dying from lung cancer is a long, painful, expensive way to die.
  5. Doesn't seem to be a lot of Oklahoma anglers on this site, which is a shame,it would be good to get some reports. I'm close to OK and I do make it over to Grand Lake every once in a while to catfish, it's an excellent lake for cats.
  6. Thanks for that link Jessary, I may pick some up myself.
  7. Got 8-10 inches here in Bella Vista, no fishing for me this weekend, but I did catch a few fishing shows this morning. Bill Dance was fishing crank baits in some private lake somewhere and was just killing the bass.
  8. I have not caught a walleye on one yet. But I would think that the Hachiro Reaction, which I would call clown, looks good, I like Table Rock Shad also.
  9. That's the best deal I have ever seen on Megabass, I felt compelled to pick a few up myself.
  10. Got an email from the lakes Biologist, they have just stocked another 1,000 trout into Lake Brittany, including 50 that were 2 lbs. or better.
  11. Thanks for the report, especially about the gear you are using, it's always interesting to hear what's out there. One of these days I got to make it down to Lake Fork.
  12. OK Jeb, I'll let you know once it gets closer if I am in for sure, I would like to go just to meet some folks also.
  13. I forgot to say, there is more info in the Table Rock forum about the seminar.
  14. Anybody from NWA interested in going to Bill Babler's stickbait seminar in Springfield at 7 PM on 2/16? I plan on going as long as I'm not on the road that week. I think it's about a 2 hr drive from here. If anyone wants to ride along, give me a shout.
  15. Snowing lightly here now, powdery stuff.
  16. Just stuck my head out the door, not much accumulation so far, maybe an inch of sleet, it is raining right now, hard to tell if it's freezing rain. Supposed to turn to snow. I still have power, I can live with this stuff as long as the power stays on.
  17. I would like to see this myself, maybe you could start at 7:30 PM and that would give me time to make it after work, assuming I am not traveling. Anyone want to carpool from NW Arkansas? I think it's about 2 hrs to Springfield from here.
  18. I sure don't like the forecast for NW Arkansas, freezing rain topped off by heavy snow, I sure hope they are wrong, but it does not good. I can't wait for springtime!
  19. No more, please no more, I can't take it, my credit card is going to be obliterated from overuse, there had to be an end to this, I can't believe there is yet another make/model of jerkbait coming out this year.. and of course it will be a hot bait, the fish will be all over it, so I must buy....aaaiiiieeee!!!!!!
  20. I should not have read this thread, after reading this, I feel my well stocked arsenal of lures is not complete without some LC pointers 112. Please do not say anything about lures as being "Hot" or "Killer" as I will then feel compelled to buy them.
  21. Yes thanks for the reports!
  22. By tuning, I mean getting it to run right, not run on it's side or roll. From what I have heard some of the Rogues are like that. I'll find out.
  23. BPS has suspending Rogues on sale now for $3.74, I picked some up, I hear that the only drawback with Rogues is that some need to be tuned out of the box. But you can get three of them for the price of one of those McSticks. They also have Johnny Morris spinning reels on sale for $63 and some change. I was using a 2000 JM when I caught htose fish, it worked well. Outdoor Life recommended them last year as a high quality value reel, and that was before they dropped the price to $63. My only complaint about them is that the line capacity is not high.
  24. There was a lot of boats out yesterday, more than I thought there would be. I was wondering the same thing, if there was a tournament going on. I did not catch any black bass either.
  25. When I cleaned them, I looked at one fishes stomach contents, a couple of 4 inch shad and a bunch of little one-one and a half inch shad. While I was fishing I noticed a few of the little shad here and there dying on the surface. I bet you could have caught a striper using a fly rod with a sinking tip and working a streamer like you work a stick bait, strip, strip, pause. You're right Zaraspook, this is one of those days I'll always remember.
