  1. Sorry for being late but now things are changin' I believe. Water temp has cooled quite a bit and those fish should be very shallow and able to catch. The laydowns for me are hit and miss and it seemed like if you a log holding fish it would hold a few. But I would be looking for big rocks, main lake for those gizzies!
  2. Wow, seems like the Stren boys are catchin' em, to bad they only drew 102 boats. Is it economy or poor schedule planning, i.e. double booking? Either way numbers are down and hate to see that.
  3. Sounds like there is a good deep bite at the lake. But judging by results very few are getting them? Legdes, with football jigs and DD22s. I haven't been in awhile, but there was a great topwater bite.
  4. All I know is some buddy's of mine were launching when he was pulling out, so I guess it would have been below the dam and 54 bridge? Crankbaits were the lure, b/c my buddy's said they lost several and broke quite a few off.
  5. Only one Kentucky about 3lbs around all this moving water, now over-all the day was decent. Had one 4.0lb LM, another nice KY, several 13 inch KY and another 2.5lb LM. Buzzbait seemed to work the best.
  6. I hear Jerry Adams was down there several weeks ago and had some Walley one a 9lb and 7lb.
  7. Wrench, I think your on to sumthin' buddy. "I'd like to place an order for weekend generation of 35K CFS to, please, chop, chop"
  8. I was getting lots of break offs too up here, thought it was my line, knot or "not" holding my jaw right, then I found out we have zebra mussels!!
  9. Both actually. Size is hit and miss.
  10. Cool morning pic
  11. Touchy subject. The equipment our military has is amazing!
  12. That be him... I think the jig won a few awards at the fishin' tackle show in Vegas?? It looks to be a pretty kew set up, but I personally don't own any and haven't seen many here in Central MO.
  13. Wrench don't give all the secrets away! LOL. Actually your right, there was a great spooky bite over the weekend and it didn't have to be dock ends if you know what I mean! Later.
  14. That is awesome, well not really.
  15. Tell me more!! Is it to early now?
  16. Below Truman (Still LOTO) is the best I have ever heard.
  17. I forgot, what were we talking about again?
  18. I have been out every weekend (night), in fact week fo' last fished Friday night, Monday and Friday night (twice in the Gravios/NS) and thought the fishing was fair, alot of 15-16 inches keepers in brush piles. Big worm in your favorite nite color should work.
  19. Maybe someone should offer a map marketing service for $300 for 30 spots, then you wouldn't even have to fish the lake.
  20. Did anyone see what Greg Hackney said about who his hero is and why? His hero was Rick Clun. Why? Because he fishes w/out any help. It goes with Champ's point. There is something material about Rick's process and finding fish on your own and using your own skill set to catch. Chances are when you achieve this it is very unlikely that others can duplicate.
  21. Nice photos.
  22. Personally, I like the Gang signs idea...
  23. Wrench is right on, plastics right now are the deal, shade is key to around docks with pea gravel!

I fish Lake of the Ozarks religously and this weekend, while I wasn't targeting bedding fish I hooked and landed two large fish with fat bellys from very shallow water in and around docks. Both fish were beat up looking and very, very, green and colorful. Were they spawners, probably so, were they released back into the water, you bet. Do I feel bad for catching these fish, not at all. Will I continue to fish for large mouth and continue to be a conservationist the best way I can and promote the outdoors to leave it better than I found it, no doubt. What does all this mean, hell I don't, just felt compelled to respond.
  25. Great analogy!
