Nice fish!!! That is the #1 reason late fall fishing is awesome...big fish and no other boats/wave-runners. Great job!!! That fish is 9lbs in the spring IMHO
-
Fished with my wife last night for 2 hours, I threw a buzz bait and caught 1 keeper, and she walluped me with a redfin. Our fish were back of pockets in 1fow or less!!! Seriously, that redfin was killing them in the shallows. Good thing too, b/c when it gets chilly, her attention span diminishes. If I were to go out again this week, I would be in back of coves shallow, just sayin'!

Good fish and good day sounds like. I fished 4pm-dark last night and only managed 2 keepers on top and lost a real nice fish on a buzz bait. I ran into 3 older gentleman in a white ranger and they were in back of a pocket and appeared to be crappie fishing. I asked how the crappie were biting and they told me they were drop shotting bass. I stongly encouraged them to stop it and pick up a buzz bait, redfin or spook as they were in a great spot for big ole bass. They indicated they were not have much success on the drop shot and then challenged my intelligence/youth as to why they thought drop shot is the only way to fish for bass on table rock. Oh well, I just said good luck and left...

It was flat out brutal for me Saturday, I fished from 3pm until dark and managed this 5lber at 4pm in 2fow on a buzzbait. My wife caught 2 keepers on a redfine toward dusk and that was it I caught 1 keeper Sunday on buzz bait about 5pm under a dock then had a pig (flat out pig) pull off at dark...but bites are few and far between for this guy.

I fished Fri night 5-7pm, only managed 1 fish and it was on a blade in 8fow on a point, about a 3lb smallie but that was it...tough for me for sure....hope this week will be good...

Fished last night 530-7...could not get a bite on a spook and changed to a redfin and caught 6 keepers, and lost a really nice toad at the boat. I was in dam area, tons of shad, but very few fish busting, none in fact. My fish came 12-40 fow, over gravel flats and then over steep banks. I'll be out this weekend, I have a red/silver champ, with black 200hp johnson if you wave me down, lets talk.
-
FYI..I'll be fishing the Dam area later this afternoon. I'll have a blade tied on, a rattletrap, a redfine and a spook. I am going to start on points and work my way back in coves with deep water close by...if I find wind, that where I'll start. Blue skies are not going to help much, but thats what I am going to throw...

I have been fishing mainly from 5pm -dusk...sticking with main lake points and steep banks with deep water nearby. This fish came off a spook, fish was in trees below. As Phil Lilley remembers earlier this year while we were in Lake Amistad, a fish will travel 40-100ft up for a spook in clear water...no matter what time of day. Keep throwing fellas, its getting time. Didnt have a scale, but the fish was over 6lbs I'm guessing.

We were fishing the Dam area, but you dont need to go that far to catch them...concentrate on main lake point with deeps access. have one guy throw a spook and the other a rattle trap or any other crankbait. And another guy throw a texas rig lizard in 8-25 ft water. You should do great. I went out last night for about 1 hr and caught one smallie over 4lb on a spook and my wife caught a few smallie on a wiggle wart.
-
Phil...you should have called me last night... There were 4 of us fishing out of 2 boats from 7-1030pm...boated three over 4, many 3lbsers and several in the 2lb range. Mine all came off spooks, but a texas rig lizard and wiggle wart were producing decent too.

My guess is we'll see spawners to mid june..any thoughts?

I have a nice trailer for sale, with a boat included. It is a 18' 1973 Ebko Tunnel Hull boat WITH TITLE. Really though...the trailer is very nice and worth the money. Lights work fine... You could EASILY transform this trailer to fit any boat, v-bottom or pontoon. Make me an offer and they are both yours. Thanks. Jim 417 331 3332

If it were me, and I have 2 depth finders but often go out without turning them on...I still have great luck. I fish dam area mostly, so take it for what it is, but bass are on beds, several are pre-spawning. I would texas rig up some plastic and throw toward bank and fish it back to boat. Or I would throw a smoke grub toward bank, put boat a cast and a half from bank and throw your grub. I would have a spook tied on at ALL times and would throw around timber and docks. That is what I would do and I am 99% sure I would catch some, if not several, fish on it. IMHO

SL P232 Sig Sauer .380, Made in Germany, w/hogue grips. This is a great feeling gun and great for CCW holders. I have never felt a better fitting gun in my hand in my life. However, it is time for me to get rid of some "toys" and this is one of them. I live in Branson, please pm me with questions. Asking $585 obo (retails at $750) Thanks Jim

I have fished that area many of times...tons of small streams up there...some lunkers too...easy, fun, not much traffic. go for it, but if it rains, the creeks blow out fast and the fishing stops altogether

I'll find out tomorrow..I am going to fish the Indian Point area with my new g loomis rod and throw rouges all day!!!

My Eagle 500c stopped working all of the sudden while i was fishing. It is a bow mount and was working fine one minute, then just went black. It is 9 months old and has worked good until now. I have check all fuses, cables, etc....when I hit the power button on the unit it goes from off to a very dark grey, not quite black, but grey which tells me power is getting to the unit. Anybody had a unit just go bad on them... could it be a faulty unit. I am thinking of sending it to Eagle? Thoughts? Thanks

I have the Rapala fishing game for my Wii. It does have Table Rock on it....it is the best of the available Wii fishing games BUT still not all that great. It'll kill some time why you dream of fishing on cold dark nights. I bought it on sale for $19.99, I would not pay any more for that game.

Phil, Be careful about gold, it is high right now (not always a great time to buy when high) but it could go higher. When dealing with gold be sure to set up the right account because it is taxed differently than stocks. I have had ford as a day trade and it just sat there too long to make a buck. Wal-mart, same thing. I would suggest Scott trade b/c they have no inactivity fee and a flat trading fee; therefore, if you go away for a while and dont trade with them, they wont hit you with charges. In daytrading you need to develop a formula and stick with it. (Ex. sell when you make 10% on everything and/or sell when your value goes down 10%) Take your profits and cut you loses short.

Actually,,,it isnt that tough out there. There is very little pressure (relatively speaking) and all you have to do is fool a few fish here and there. I have found a great buzz bait bite off docks early, mid day and evening. I have found a better spook bite in the same timeframe. I did really well last night on bushes flippen a football jig on main lake points and in back of pockets, then moved to a spook and did well off docks. I have found fish in all parts of the lake and water column. There are several different ways to catch fish right now. Throw a grub and keep it near bottom if all else fails. I would stick with bushes and docks with jig, spinnerbait and topwater. Topwater for me is productive at all hours of the day and almost all year long. GO get 'em!
