I moved here 5 years ago from central Iowa, fished red rock lake my whole life and some at 10 mile, by three mile quite a bit...table rocks clear water requires patients and lighter line at 1st, get used to being humbled here, but use your electronics for drop shot fish later in year. night fishing is great, topwater bite is strong, but remember, the more often you get on the water, the better you will be Good luck

Caught a handfull of these 2 weeks ago in the dam area, using small jigs, color didnt matter,,off deep docks...all were full of eggs.

Caught one of those about 7 years ago on Lake of the Ozarks with a green wiggle wart during bass spawn...thought i had a record bass on, but turned out to be the biggest drum i had ever seen. 2 years ago, I was at LOTO in May and threw a pop-r in back of crick and BAM...again thought i had a 10 lb bass on the line, turned out to be a 20+ lb carp that my buddy wouldnt let me bring in his ranger...oh well

G Loomis for me is the best rod out there as far as action and warranty. I have had St Croix and still use them, but G Loomis offers Lifetime Warranty on the rod, which I have taken them up on a few times and had great luck. Loomis makes a 6'10" drop shot rod that i bought last year and took to Canada...it did great on all species and does great on the rock. Both are good rods, but why not buy one that will replace itself when, not if, you break it

i have a 2 man 14" kayak that i take out all the time on table rock, spring through fall. I have got awesome fish out of it, lots with a drop shot w/no sonar. Just be careful of bigger boats and stay close to the shoreline and you'll do fine. My wife takes it out all the time and kills the fish that I tend to blow past with my bass boat. And, I live near the dam by indian point, and still the boat/waves have never bothered me. It is a great way to get close behind dock cables for big fish too. Good luck

I have been fishing LOTO every year for 20 years. I now usually go up in May, but have been many many times in late march--april. I dont know water temp up there, but usually there is a strong bite with wiggle warts and rouges on secondary pts, 90% of my fishing is grand glaize arm/area. if you find some, try throwing a carolina rig lizard, black/red flake, and i bet you get bit that way too LOTO is a great fishery and not that hard to get on fish...good luck, you'll do fine

Terry, I just got back from there about 3 weeks ago, we were in Playa for the second winter in a row. Last year, the surf fishing was awesome on chatter baits and rouges, this year, the wind would not stop and made for poor conditions. We have deep sea fished the channel between main land and cozumel, there are fish there, but it gets hit hard. There are a lot of so called charter boats to take you out, but they are just after your $$ and will not go near far enough out. We use a mayan guide who is from the Yucatan and knows what he is doing. I do not have his number, but make sure your guide is a native of the area and not from another part who has moved to a tourist town to take your money. -

1990 15hp Evinrude 2 stroke short shaft, I have all paperwork (including original purchase receipt), title, owners manual, and all repair orders. Carburator professionally cleaned in April and has not been used since b/c I was given another motor by my father-in-law, but motor kept in storage. Runs very strong and a great engine.. I live in Branson and can deliver the motor within the area. My rock bottom dollar on the motor is $850....if you are interested, please let me know by July 23 b/c I am putting it on ebay Wednesday July 23. Thanks,

I floated the Osage on Sunday, I live in Branson and was a guest of a farmer down there and dont know where he put us in at, but we caught lots of fish, nothing huge, but quality all around. Flukes were not working, but green/watermelon grubs were. The wife and I had a blast and did not see a soul in 6hrs of floating. Regards

I again fished dam area on saturday...3 keepers totaling 12 lbs...one ky, one sm, one lm...my fish were all caught 1-3 ft of water...i caught some shorts and lost some nice fish bringing them to the boat. I watched 6-8 boats fish the point around by my home all day long, many boats were fishing points, it seemed that i was the only guy fishing shallow. I spoke to one guy fishing brushes with grubs and he had caught 1 all day long. My feeling is that the point fish are seeing lots of baits and the shallow fish were not getting much pressure. I did see several nice bass cruising the shallows chasing shad.

i have been fishing shallow the last couple weeks and have found several staging fish in/around dam area. my boss fished rattle traps in 10-30 ft wed night and caught 4 keeper ky's and 1 sm...he did not find fish shallow. fishing brush is not the key for me...either very, very shallow or 20-30 ft off points. just my experience

The trail system by 2008 will have more than 200 miles in the area and then connecting to Arkansas system which is huge. Look for new trails to go along Roark Creek, connecting to Landing, back towards Chateau and over to Indian Point. The Ozark Trail System just received 2.5 million from the state to expand the system. Statistically speaking, a trail system running through property is assest the same value as lake front property.

Come on Wayne, there is lots new on Champ's list. Kirby didnt get ousted b/c of animal cruelty, he got shunned b/c he has trouble paying bills and his run in with the law. College is great for kids, SDC is great Butterfly palace Talking rocks ride the ducks white water 15 miles of nature trails state park marina dewey short buy $5 snorkler masks@walmart and swim at moonshine lilleys landing imax go-carts mini golf more swimming balloon ride branson creek nature trails horseback riding lots of stuff for the entire family. FYI Orlando visitation down 2.4%, Branson up 24.9% (source June Market Resource BLACC) Good time to be in Branson!!

Lots of discussion here, but lets keep it proffessional and not so personal. I am in complete agreement with Phil about the Herchands, they are good people and Jack has helped me on certain levels/areas when he didn't have too but did. Attacking them isn't even a rational thought. I can go all day on bible quotes, here is a couple for everyone. Mat 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. Phil 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Lets keep the focus on Casinos. Isn't the real issue the quality of life, i.e. wages, social aspects(family,low crime, good schools), fishing. Don't blame the employer for your low wages, if you don't like your plite in life, change it. If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got. Is it tought, sure, but that is life.

I do not like shopping but have spoken with many retailers down there several times. Many shops are so far above projected numbers it isn't even funny. Stores had no idea that Branson could be so good to them. We shall see come winter time, everyone always comes to see a 'new baby'. Selling homes for 650k plus is a lot to ask in Taney county, but lets look at how much appreciation they are recieving. Many counties in the Southern U.S. would be happy to experience the home values many of us are enjoying. There are lots of shoe stores down there and very little in the men's apparel line, but on the other hand, the women can shop all day why we fish!! Oh and one more thing, this topic should be moved to general discussion Bill.

The ducks are called "Ozark Mtn Water Ducks', they are not affiliated with Ride the Ducks owned by Herschand Family Entertainment. They are located on 248 and have various entertainers on the boat doing shows. I saw them on Sunday and am not thrilled that they are there, but am told that their route will take them no further than the Landing.

It sounds to me like some are in favor and accepting the Landing as a whole. Didnt we have this talk about a month ago, and many got heated about the subject even being brought up. I have talked to a majority of the downtown businesses who were originally worried that their sales would decrease b/c people would shop only at the landing. The general concensus down there now is an overwhelming excitement and ringing cash registers. The sales are up, up, up.

I know the dicussion got heated about the Landing, I am just trying to remain positive in a changing environment, that is all. I love fishing and Branson, but we must share it and be respectful to all opinions and not be so defensive.=)

i went last weekend to lake of ozarks. did really well off green pumpkin lizards texas rigged. it was the tail end of spawn. fish were 1-3ft of water, many keepers, none off hard baits. stained water as well. Two 4lb fish. thanks for the help guys

First Off Babler,dont assume you know what I do for a living, I am not involved in real estate at all or have direct financial ties to the landing nor any family member of mine. I have been associated with Branson since 1984 and seen the growth that has taken place and allowed this little town to grow and not die like the surrounding communities b/c of economic growth and tourism. 90% of the contracters are out of towners but many of the general laborers are local. 2000+ jobs will be created b/c of the landing bringing in more and more people who live here, buy homes and pay taxes. i am involved in more things around town than most that promote branson and protecting the quality of life here. The reality is Branson is changing, the Landing is here, by no doing of me, but we need to accept it. The lake is a gift from God, we must take care of it even if it means sharing it with developers. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or jealousy, always considering others before yourself" Phil 3. Wages in Branson have gone up 30% in the last year for blue collar work especially in the hotel/rest. business. You can go anywhere and find $8/hr work. I help many many people every week find jobs here b/c of the shortage of good help. What other town of 6000 residents has this kind of job shortage a $1.5 bil economy, or the fantastic amenities we have. It is wonderful and who has to buy a $40,000 boat? How about promoting education that will engage others to get better jobs. Hollister school has a new $10,000,000 high school, that doesnt happen in a town of just 2000 folks, better schools = higher wages = better fishing equipment. All I am saying is that we all need to get along and enjoy Branson and the outdoors w/out comprimising our quality of life and morals. Since we are growing, how about joining committees that promote life and community in Branson to our new residents.

I hope you all arent serious about the Branson Landing project as reference to fish structure=) The Landing is a great addition to our community, I undertand certain concerns about fishing on Taneycomo b/c of the Landing but lets remember the lake is a gift to us all and lets not be selfish. The Landing will also provide great revenue for us ALL. More money in our pockets means better bass boats and more equipment!!
