  1. My biggest smallmouth to date was a 20.5" I caught on the middle Gasconade. It was a Thursday evening and me, my brother and my fiance ran to the river for a few hours of fishing that evening after work. The was low and dirty and the fishing was slow. We was throwing a weightless trick worm and flipped it up between the bank and a log, twitch it a few times and a massive wake came up over the log and engulfed the bait. I reeled down and pull in to the fish and knew it was going to be my PB smallmouth as soon as the fight began. I didn't have a scale in the boat handy, but I'm sure it broke the 4# mark. We've caught a few 19.5" that were just shy of 4# and this one had an inch on those fish.
  2. If PETA wasn't full of psycho's who wish death to people that eat meat, I would fully support them when it comes to things like dogs, cats and pretty well any animal that isn't being raised for the table. I love to hunt, but I hunt for food. I'm also a bleeding heart when it comes to pets. We have two very spoiled dachshunds as well as two cats and I care more about them than a lot of people I know lol.
  3. Well there are currently 1165 of them and most of those are friends with me stricly because we share a passion for hunting and/or fishing so I'm not too concerned about losing friends.
  4. Here's an easy fix for those who don't like to see that type of thing coming from my FB account. My photos are for friends only so unless somebody screenshots it and resposts it, only my friends will be seeing them. Judging by how many likes I get when I do post pictures such as this, there are far more people who do like seeing my pictures than don't though.
  5. If somebody is staying within the legal limits and the meat is being used, then I can't see where they are at fault. Being wasteful with wildlife is the only thing that really burns my butt. If you are the guy that shoots one deer and lets it sit in your freezer and never eat any, then you make that list. If you kill and legally tag 10 deer and it all gets eaten, then you do not make that list. We kill 8-14 deer a year between my family, but we also spread the load out across several farms. Most of those deer are kept for our own use, but we also give a few away to some needy families that aren't able to hunt. In fact, I think we could easily give away every deer we ever killed to those in need and none of it would go to waste. If you don't like the current limits, take it up with MDC. Most people are going to stay within the legal limits so MDC really has the final say on how much of a resource gets harvested. Poachers are scum and won't give a lick about any type of limits anyways. By the way, something must be wrong with me. I posted this picture last year of me and a buddies opening morning. It was merely to show that we had a great morning and harvested multiple deer. He recently lost his hunting ground so I invited him along to hunt with me and he was able to harvest a big doe and a buck to fill his firearm tags. One of the does was mine. Had I been by myself, I'd have only taken one deer because I don't enjoy cleaning multiple deer at once. That was probably the most fun I've ever had on an opening day.
  6. They were talking about this on Bass Boat Central the other day. Apparently, the "fixed" boards have a rev. 7 on them or something. Hopefully they get the kinks worked out because everybody loves these trolling motors when they are working right.
  7. I'm sure he mentioned it....
  8. I don't get these fish this summer. It has been pretty sucky overall, but there have been a few days where the big ones bite. No high water or anything special stands put about it either. Tommy and I can't even catch 6# on the Gasconade right now.
  9. Clear water is my favorite. Only need maybe two lures My favorite clear water bait stands out like a sore thumb, but the bass love it!
  10. I've only fished it once and I didn't feel like I was sharing water. We caught plenty of fish too, just nothing over 3.5#. I'm still debating on whether I want to do it again this fall. My aluminum jet boat isn't the best for rough condition and you feel like you got beat with a bat after 16 hours of fishing rough water.
  11. It's not required, but it does speed up the process since you can just keep moving until you actually see the fish. Docks that sit over deep water with big swim decks are a good place to start looking. Those are usually obvious enough that they get a lot of pressure though.
  12. For sure, but missing all that fishing sucked! I guess I now know how you feel most of the time.
  13. I saw one up close that met its demise a few miles farther down this summer as well.......
  14. If you have side imaging, just scan docks until you find one that lights up like an xmas tree. I usually start out scanning channel swing docks.
  15. As big as your fish stories are, you probably just unzip your pants to see if each bass is 12" too, right?
  16. You just need to improve your fishing lying abilities. Whatever you do, don't look for advice on how to improve it on a fishing forum. That type of behavior is the debil!
  17. You enjoy reading the forum yet hate those that post fishing reports, pics of nice fish and those that come here to read those same fishing reports. That IS the forum. How can you like something that is based off everything that you hate about the forum? That doesn't make any sense.
  18. I know, right? What kind of a fishermen would actually come to a fishing forum to read about fishing and to see pictures of fish? The guys who only post to argue and degrade others are the ones who really make others want to stick around.
  19. @thewhitesnoop how long do you guys usually fish? Too catch 100 fish, much less 100 keepers, in ten hours, you would have to average a fish every 6 minutes.
  20. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to giving out information in the warmer months. Fish move around a lot and things change frequently. I've served up, what I thought, was a home run pattern to many people when they have asked me about how I was catching fish only for them to go out and not catch squat. That is why I'm not too concerned with posting a report or giving some advice to somebody during this time of year. Winter fishing is a different story. I won't divulge that to just anybody unless it is trout or crappie.
  21. There is plenty of squabbling and disagreeing that goes on within this forum. I've butted heads with Champ, Mitch and a few of the more prominent members of stuff in the past. Life goes on though and it's just one little thing. No reason to hold a grudge. We also aren't on here stalking certain members just to make negative comments towards them. Literally every one of your posts is directed towards people associated with TackleHD. That is why you're being called a troll. If you were posting regularly about other things and not calling those few people out in every single post you've ever made, then nobody would think much of it. Yes, you're right that it is a public forum. Post whatever you want. I just don't understand why you would only post when you have something negative to say. That is what doesn't make any sense to me.
  22. BRAGGER!!!
  23. I guess he could just never post anything ever and let the rest of the forum members figure things out on there own. I'm sure there are more than enough guys who fish the same waters as him that wouldn't mind that one bit. I'm not sure if you follow the BASS Elite series, but go back a few years ago and see how KVD did. He struggled. The guy is back on top tearing it up again, but even the best get in to slumps. If you asked Aaron if this was slow summer, I guarantee he would say yes by his standards. I think people over estimate just how many fish they actually catch most of the time. I've only had a few 50+ fish days on the river in the past few years and it felt like we caught fish every couple of casts the entire day to break that mark. If it wasn't for having my GoPro running the entire time, I'd have thought we boated 70-80 fish. Last winter, we fished an 8 hour tournament on the Gasconade and we ended up boating 55 smallmouth and spots. The first hour was figuring out exactly where the were at. 7 hours times 60 minutes = 420 minutes so we had to average a fish every 7.6 minutes while retying, fixing backlashes and all the other little time wasters that you deal with while fishing.
  24. I wonder who thewhitesnoop really is. He doesn't make an appearance very often and when he does, it is to bust the balls of certain forum members. Sounds like a pretty sad dude. By all means, show us how it is done. I'm sure you would have caught 100 fish and had 25# in your best five...
