  1. Mamma says it ain't always what you say, but how you say it. Mamma also says if you can't say something nice then don't say nothing at all.
  2. Is that Al Gore in the video?
  3. JD -- you've got some good points, but I don't think it's been established that the victim was a drunk. Regardless, the best thing to do in a confrontation is to schmooze the aggressor and forget proving your freakin' point. I said the same in the Shoal Creek/Prater thread a while back. There's a couple loud mouths, that no longer grace us with their presence, that were pushing buttons on gun-toting folk and probably were closer to a BIG problem that they ever thought. Screw the bravado -- you're out there to fish. Put Big Ed back in the barn and bring him out at the next gravel bar.
  4. MMMmmm...OK. Jealous. A couple observations: 1) You should have shot those poachers that caught the 19-incher in YOUR water. 2) The first couple photos had me thinking I was on the wrong forum. 3) Virgin cutts in pocket water -- now that's fun. 4) Dry/dry setup is one of may faves. Even more now that my eyesight ain't what it used to be.
  5. That's profiling, bro.
  6. Every knucklehead on the stream already carries a gun!
  7. Tommy Watson a favorite here. Great golfer, great guy, Kansas City guy and class act. 2009 British Open was some of the most exciting golf I've ever seen. Does lots of fundraising locally. Once called a foul on himself when he accidentally moved a ball -- that nobody else saw. Quit his long time home course in KC when they refused to admit his wife because she is Jewish. Had enough stature in the game that he called Tiger out on his on-course behavior and his personal life.
  8. Just let it flow, Terrierman. It'll do you good.
  9. And gentlemen don't spit, Mr. Woods.
  10. You know, I got that. I think most everybody did. Yeah, I had to read between the lines a little, but I had the benefit of having read your posts over a long period of time. Some here seem to be way too keyed up and ready to blast away at anything that differs, even slightly, from what they've been told is the truth. I guess we should all feel lucky their only weapon is a keyboard and the only way we're likely to encounter them is if we choose to read their drivel. A big red avatar makes drivel easy to spot.
  11. I too predict Mickleson will win. Hard not to like that guy. Tiger, however....
  12. That right there is the heart of the issue. When there are guns around, a little rock chucking, smack talking, wife ogling, can turn into something deadly. Smalliebigs -- I had to Google that term to be sure it was what I figgered it was. I'm pretty surprised to see that in this forum. That's downright wrong to use anywhere, especially here. This forum sure has taken a nasty turn the last couple months. It's sure not what it used to be.
  13. Nice! I brought in a few tomatoes last night that just started to turn. My biggest few are taking their sweet time though. We're gonna be away for a week so I gotta bring in some green ones. Never had groundhogs, but rabbits and squirrels have always pestered me. I even had a mother rabbit dig a hole in the middle of the yard this year and drop a litter of 4-5 in there. But they all disappeared one day. Here's the prime suspect: We've got a family of these in the hood -- I've seen two together, but my son has seen a bunch of pups too.
  14. And Phil, sorry about the skeediddle -- I get a little charged up sometimes.
  15. Brian Michael Boyer of Waterloo, IL - I do believe you're seeing double. Well, I was about to call you a weenie for bailing out. But you are the hero in this deal for sticking with it. That's a helluva lot more than most folks will do -- and you got the little twerp into some hot water. I think his tickets will sting some, but surely he deserved more. But he wouldn't have even got that without your diligence. Also -- you've brought a problem to light and fostered a lot of good discussion about how to proceed when something like this comes up. You also got Huzzah Valley and the the other outfitter thinking about what's going on down there, and that can't hurt. It may even help some. I've always argued for reporting this stuff as the primary means of drawing the attention of the CA's to where we want them. Without that, they may just make their required rounds and then clock out. If they've got a lead, the CA or his boss have a reason to go that direction. And that's good. So, I'm calling for kudos for doing your best to get this punk into some deep skeediddle.
  16. Hey Brian Michael Boyer of Waterloo, IL -- what's with the periods in the middle of sentences? Hiccups?
  17. How '90s. Do you also keep a quarter in there to make the call?
  18. There's more to the story. What do we gotta do to get it -- start making some calls?
  19. Welcome, salmonrun10. Ask away with your fly fishing questions -- there are a lot of folks with plenty of advice here. Some of it's even good!
  20. Alright Smallie -- what did the MDC agent tell you? Be as vague as as you feel is right, if that's what's holding you back. We're kinda left to assume he said 'nobody cares about small mouth, just leave us alone.'
  21. Me too. And with Brian Michael Boyer of Waterloo, IL, you don't have to stay up late to get them!
  22. Dang! Very cool shots. I know what you mean about taking stuff for granted. That's a good thing to keep in mind.
