    What's Cooking?

Well, you've never had this delicacy I guess? You don't know what you're missing. From my beloved grandma Viola, I give you creamed peas. (Not the mooshy kind)

I say no mint. Blech. Just julep.

    What's Cooking?

St. Michelle is a brand I have a lot of confidence in. Had that Chardonnay the other night and it was really good. Not usually a chardonay drinker because I'm not a fan of oak in whites. And, I love risotto.

Love real maple syrup. Pricey, but worth it I think. On cornmeal mush.

    What's Cooking?

Gave up on peas in the garden. Just not enough return on investment. Frozen petite peas are pretty darn good with just a tiny bit of butter and salt, like I did there.

    What's Cooking?

You pea haters stifle yourselves. This tasted good when I put it in my mouth.
  13. I know Phil wants to keep it clean, but this bumper sticker just cracked me up:

    What's Cooking?

Ok, this was pretty tasty. Shrimp cocktail appetizer. Swai filets, asparagus, sautéed zucchini and onion. Chopped salad and ciabatta rolls
  21. This post is great in so many ways. It's so fun to read about the excitement you experienced at your accomplishment. Everybody who's fished or hunted remembers moments that were firsts, or where things just clicked and something special happened. There's one of yours. You've got me thinking about those times I remember, especially the ones with my dad, brother and kids.
  22. I was gonna be offended at that display of prejudice, then I read the article. Now I've got nothing. You gotta know what the heck you're shooting at.
  23. We haven't been getting the rain you all have in southern MO. I've been out watering a few times. I know I can wait until May on maters, and I also know cool temps will stunt them to where it might have been better to wait. My uncle and gardening mentor waits until May each year. But I like to get them out the second half of April if I've got a window of good temps in sight. Don't mind throwing plastic over things too much. 44 outside right now at around 10:30, low of 37 million xpected.
  24. ...and from such a warm start we're down to this. Slight chance of frost tonight.

    What's Cooking?

The cinnamon is very subtle in this recipe. The predominant flavor is the brined grape leaf and beef.
