Bierock burgers. Ground beef, cabbage, onion, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, a little red pepper and served on a decent bun. I like it with ketchup. Chief: this will scratch that cabbage itch.
I'm assuming you're going to be wading?
If you want to mix it up a little and fish little creeks for wild rainbows, Mill, Crane or BSC would be good choices for you. Little Piney is a little bigger water and a good choice too.
I'd skip Meramec -- just don't hear enough good things about it to pass on some of the better options.

But, I think Gavin's recipe is (like?) the classic Cesar salad dressing. But, upon Googling -- they look to be pretty similar to each other anyway.
Interesting. Never heard that. My relatives were Lebanese Catholic too but not orthodox Greek. Name was Mansor.
A little Googling shows a lot of Lebanese stuff there still -- restaurants, festivals. Who knew??
Where did you grow up? Not too many Lebanese folks around that I know of. My mother's parents were both born there and immigrated to Pennsylvania coal country in the early 1900s. They did grape leaves with labneh, and talked about other Lebanese foods but I don't remember anything else traditional being made.
The grape leaves are an acquired taste. I've had several different kinds but the ones I like best are simple with beef, rice and some seasonings. The ones at Tasso's in KC are excellent and come with a lemon/egg sauce that makes you want to lick the plate.
I've made them a few times, but it's pretty labor intensive.
Somebody posted something many moons ago about eggs cooked in a spicy tomato sauce. There was a name, but it has escaped me. It's a good combination of favors.
Out of town this last weekend and ate like a horse. So, last night it was ramen noodles. I did put an egg and some herbs in them. ?
Chief - here's a recipe for cabbage rolls I've made before. Pretty darn good and easy too. A lot of the reviews say double, triple or even quadruple the tomato sauce. Honestly can't remember what I did, but you may keep that in mind.
What the hell? Are you picking up the torch that JoeD dropped?? ? I'm gonna tell it like it is. Frozen ravioli and a good sauce are good eats. I did grate some cheese on it. That took some effort. You put a store-bought wiener in the smoker and declared that fine coo-zeen and I gave you a pass?
Speaking of lasagne, I Saw this recipe that I thought sounded promising.
In other news, ness scored some dilly beans this weekend and immediately plopped a couple in a martini as per recommendations from rps and Gavin:
I'm on board! Nice salty, spicy, bitter addition. Only problem is those dilly beans make it hard to focus my eyes.
Ok, this is lame in light of the great contributions shown here lately, but frozen cheese ravioli and a good jarred sauce with some grated Parmesan hit the spot tonight. It took about 10 minutes and used one pot, a plate and a spoon. Oh, and the cheese grater.
Cant get the fabulous picture to load, so you'll have to use your imagination ?
I've heard there has been increased UFO activity in the area. Plus, there was that signal received from the Andromeda galaxy last week. It's pretty obvious to me what we've got here.
Got a recipe around here somewhere with apples, breakfast sausage and cider that's reduced and thickened. Seasoned with garlic and sage. It's a sweet and savory thing that's good over mashed potatoes or on pancakes. Haven't made it in years. You guys got me thinking about it though.
Fishing the Little Red in 1999, slipped and landed on a rock tailbone first. Easily the most pain I've ever experienced. The worst drive home too because I didn't have a way to stay off it. It hurt daily for years and years. Still hurts if I sit on it wrong.
