Sauteed those Asian greens with a little oil, onion, garlic and broth until wilted -- as per the recipe they provided. Next time it's gonna be with bacon, and I don't care if the hogs were free range, humanely slaughtered, chock full of antibiotics or heirloom varieties. And I don't care if the bacon is laced with nitrates, nitrites, sodium, preservatives or anything else. Them greens need all the help they can get

  7. Sorry -- classified It's really pretty much a Madame X but I tie it with palmered hackle over the dubbing body.

Had to go check -- Central BBQ. I've got sauce and a rub too. He's nice guy and all, probably just as proud of his Memphis BBQ as we are of our KC BBQ. Suppose I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's just my knee-jerk reaction to JD taking a big ol' dump on rps' ribs (or my CSA, or BH's walnut, or any of a number of other folks ideas)

Picked up my delivery yesterday. Salad green mix they call 'spicy mix' with arugula, kale, mustard greens and a couple other things I've never heard of -- mizuna, tatsoi and komatsuma. Gotta read up on those things. Also Hankurei turnips - gotta read up on them too! I thought they were big white radishes -- no purple tinge. About ping pong ball size maybe a little bigger. They shoot out a newsletter each week telling you what you got and include a few recipes -- they've got one for braising the greens and another for honey glazed turnips. I think this is gonna be pretty fun. Still a firm no on the tat.

PM me your address. A bond salesman from Memphis sends me some nasty dry ribs every Christmas and I haven't thrown this year's away yet.

We made some when my boys were in Scouts but haven't since then.
  14. You guys are a bunch of suckers. When I take clients out, I set them up with a Pocket Fisherman rigged with a Banjo Minnow and we always catch fish. I mean, haven't you seen the commercials? I won't ever fish anything else... (that is, until I burn through my inventory of Pocket Fishermen and Banjo Minnows). Thank you. You can have your thread back now.
  15. I told you -- top dollar!! You know -- less than you want and more than I'll pay

I relied on the other guy tonight. Well, technically it was the same guy, but he did the work last night. a/k/a leftovers. Chief -- you got any chips left?
  18. Ever since I saw the guy wading without any pants, I've avoided the area. See
  19. That's good looking wood, and I would have paid top dollar, but I can't use anything shorter that 20". Sorry. Maybe you'll be a little more careful next time.

Tilapia with a lemon caper sauce; risotto with peas. rps -- used your recommended easy method!

  24. They used to have an annual air show out at Richards Gebaur complete with the Blue Angels/Thunderbirds. I work right on 71 Highway and it was always cool to see them practice in the days before the show. One time a Blue Angel came straight up 71 and shot past the bank.
  25. I've always heard the pilots love them, they're easy to maintain, reliable, and scare the heck out of the enemy when they let loose with the cannon.
