  1. Just a couple of words of caution before you start feeling good about Missouri's Boater Education Class which states: Any person born after January 1, 1984 must successfully pass a Missouri Boater Education Class/Test before operating any motorized vessel. The thing is a complete & total joke & has been since it's inception. You can go on-line & take & complete the course & test in a matter of hours. We have had several of our guests that we have witnessed the parents put the kids around a computer & help them all complete the course & test & then go & rent JET-SKIS ( THAT THE KIDS HAVE NOT QUIT TALKING ABOUT SINCE THEY CHECKED IN ) from the local marinas that same day. Think those kids are ready & qualified to safely operate any water-craft let alone a JET-SKI ??????? I have had several parents tell me that when the marina found out that the kids did not have the required documentation to rent them a JET-SKI they ( MARINA EMPLOYEES ) were more than happy to help & assist the kids take & complete the course right there & then on the marina grounds. Let's think about it for a minute. Family of 5, mom - dad - 3 kids, with out proper documentation for the 3 kids the marina will more than likely rent them 2 JET-SKIS. But, lets think outside the box & take advantage of the system, with an attitude of good customer service & give the customer what they want whatever it takes, HELP THE 3 THAT NEED IT TAKE & COMPLETE THE CLASS & TEST, now the marina will rent as many as 4 JET-SKIS, 1 for mom & dad & if the kids do enough crying - bitching - moaning, just creating a scene in public ( WHICH MANY OF THEM SEEM TO HAVE COMPLETED THAT CLASS / TEST ) 1 for each of them. I have had guests tell me their kids took & completed the course & test in the car on the way down, said it keeps them quiet for a while & made the drive to us more enjoyable. Also, I have witnessed family members take & complete the course & test for another family member, the folks on the other end have no idea who is taking the course & test. As I said earlier, " IT'S A JOKE, BUT NOT ONE TO LAUGH AT " !!!!!!!
  2. Who said prayers will not be answered, " ONE DOWN & HOW MANY MORE TO GO " ??????? Personally that is where I like them as that is where they cause the fewest problems !!!!!!!
  3. Tucker Hollow does not have a courtesy dock but there is a small marina next to the ramp. If you go in & check with the folks in the marina they will normally let you pull into a open boat-slip or on the outside of the dock while you are launching & or pulling your boat. But, make sure you check with them 1ST. !!!!!!! It's a little walk back to your tow vehicle ( UNLESS YOU TAKE A SHORT CUT OVER SOME ROCKY TERRAIN ) but much better than pulling your boat up onto the rocks & / or ramp.
  4. I will strongly 2ND. the TUCKER HOLLOW AREA, plenty of area with different stuff to fish & away from the traffic is an understatement. I don't think I have seen more than 4 boats in a day while fishing that area. And best of all, " NEVER A JET SKI, NOT ONCE " !!!!!!! Butt please let's try to keep this our little secret.
  5. If you check the BPS WEB-SITE you will see they show 6 " NEW & EXCLUSIVE " colors for 2016. If my memory serves me right in 2015 they had 4 " NEW & EXCLUSIVE " colors. Guess maybe it's going to be a yearly thing. Looking @ all of the 6 new colors ( REAL LIFE IN THE STORE NOT PICTURES ) IMO QUACHITA CRAW has the best chance of being swallowed by one of TABLE ROCK'S 4 species of bass waiting on you out there.
  6. Yes, according to the BPS catalog it ( COPPERNOSE ) is " NEW & EXCLUSIVE " to BPS.
  7. Not to cloud the waters & complicate the issue but you may want to take a serious look @ Berkley's PIT BULL & WILD THANG. The WILD THANG will be closer to the ROCK CRAWLER as far as depth. The PIT BULL is closer to the WIGGLE WART as far as depth more of a shallow ( 6ft. - 8ft. ) running square bill. Both have an action ( HUNTING & DEFLECTING ) that I think you will find to be different than what we are use to & maybe just maybe that something new & different may make a difference. Also, both come in very good colors & are @ a good price point, few $$$ less than a ROCK CRAWLER, few $$$ more than a WIGGLE WART. Just my thoughts.
  8. Sure can, as long is it doesn't take our fantastic legal system 2 to 3 years to accomplish it. This thing should be over & done with in 90 days, not 24 to 36 months. I am all for & all in on give them their day in court.
  9. If I had any say in the matter which I do not it's time for some good old " DOWN HOME JUSTICE " in our fine country, which consists of take him out behind the barn & #1: " BEAT THE LIVING __ __ __ __ OUT OF HIM " then explain to him the errors of his ways, then #2: " SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD " !!!!!!! Save us all a bunch of money & time, put him in prison where he gets free room & board, 3 squares a day, a nice warm bed, free medical & dental & our tax dollars pay for it to the tune of thousands of dollars a year. Then later on down the road he is out & hurts how many more people & destroys how many more families. One bullet, one wooden box, & one trip to the local cremation chamber & we are all better off.
  10. The water in our area ( STATE PARK - MOONSHINE BEACH - 86 BRIDGE @ LONG CREEK ) is in very good shape. No mud, clarity is very good & I have seen little if any debris. Normally after a high water scenario we have enough crap ( & BIG STUFF ) floating in on the shoreline & into our boat-dock to keep us busy for days. This time " NADA " don't know where it went " BUT BETTER THERE THAN HERE " !!!!!!! As an added bonus, you got the lake to yourself, if I have seen 1 boat a day I have seen a lot. That is why this right now is my favorite time of the year to chase those green fish.
  11. Lake has gone down about 9 feet & continues to drop so either Table Rock Lake State Park or Moonshine Beach should both be fine.
  12. The answer to the question is, because #1 their employees are stupid & #2 the USACOE could care less. Here are the facts, 2008: " THE 100 YEAR FLOOD " 2011: " THE 103 YEAR FLOOD " 2015: " THE 107 YEAR FLOOD " In all 3 cases they had more than enough notice of what was coming & did nothing but create a complete & total " FUBAR " !!!!!!! Yet, they all kept their jobs & continue to collect a paycheck. Our " GOVERNMENT @ WORK " !!!!!!! I remember after the flood in 2011 many of our politicians were quick to jump on the bandwagon & call for an investigation into the USACOE & their leadership, operational procedures, etc. as to many people were suffering from their handling of these types of situations. Well guess what, " AINT NOTHIN CHANGED BOYS " & I hate to say it but it probably never will !!!!!!! So, the moral of the story is, get yourself a government job & live happily ever after.
  13. Well if anyone thought it would not & / or could not happen it did. BPS 2016 MASTER CATALOG is showing 5 models of LEW'S bait casting reels & 2 bait casting reel / rod combos. Did not see any spinning reels, spinning combos, or bait casting rods but, can they be far behind ???????
  14. Please not another word about the MUDBUG !!!!!!! Without a doubt " WORST LURE EVER " !!!!!!! Please don't waste your time on the water with them. Why do you think they quit making them ??????? If you happen to find any " RUN AWAY & DON'T LOOK BACK " !!!!!!! Not a lure you want to be seen with or talk about to anyone, as we will all make fun of you for owning one & / or talking about them.
  15. I will turn 65 in March, purchased my 1st. BASS BOAT in 1976 & that model BOMBER was the hottest lure in our BASS CLUB back then. Just shy of 40 years ago ( & BOMBER WAS JUST COMING OUT WITH THE PLASTIC VERSION THEN ) so, yes my friend what you have there is old & just may be worth something to a collector.
  16. If it's wood it's a BOMBER & by the picture an old one. Newer ones ( JUST BEFORE THEY QUIT MAKING THEM ) were plastic. I have a few ( VERY FEW ) still &, I sure wish they still made them as they were fish catching machines.
  17. From what I see It looks like all you have to do is click on ADD TO CART.
  18. I have one guy come around our boat-dock most every day, fishes the slips & there has never been a problem. Will gladly accept the KYAKERS any day over the " MORONS ON THE JET SKIS " !!!!!!!
  19. WHAT IMAGES ???????
  20. Yes you can insure it for whatever level you would like just remember your level of coverage will determine your premium. I would say a " BIG YES " to remove all that you can each & every time !!!!!!! I have fished all across the USA & CANADA for over 40 years & the only " TIMES " I had a problem was on 2 different trips to TRUMAN. One time a rod & reel was stolen out of my boat as it sat in a slip overnight @‌ BUCKSAW MARINA & one time my boat ( & ANOTHER GENTLEMENS ) were stolen out of a slip @‌ OSAGE BLUFF MARINA !!!!!!! Got the rod & reel back & the thief ( A MARINA EMPLOYEE ) was arrested & taken off to jail by the local SHERIFF, his employer filed charges against him so I did not have to. Got my boat back also, but, lost all my rods - reels - tackle - personal property etc. that was in the boat. My insurance company ( STATE FARM @‌ THAT TIME ) covered the $ 20,000.00 bill ( ALL REPLACEMENT COST WAS COVERED BY MY HOME OWNERS POLICY UNDER THE PERSONAL PROPERTY SECTION AS MOST BOAT INSURANCE POLICIES NORMALLY COVER THE BOAT - MOTOR - TRAILER & NOT YOURS OR OTHERS PERSONAL PROPERTY ) to replace everything. Still the time & trouble you go through it is not worth it. One final thought, TRUMAN for years & years has been notorious for this type of activity & is by far the worst for these types of problems. " GOOD LUCK " !!!!!!!
  21. The lake has been dropping an average of 2&1/2 in. over a 24 hr. period for a couple of weeks now. So if that pattern holds @‌ the end of August it will be sitting around 918.5 feet.
  22. Call DYNA PROP INC. 1-800-874-8280 & talk to Matt, he will put you very close ( IF NOT EXACTLY ) to where you need & want to be.
  23. Go to www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/WaterPatrol/index.html Go to REGATTAS ( ALMOST BOTTOM OF PAGE LEFT HAND SIDE ) click on REGATTAS, Select a Lake / River, Select a Month, Select a Year, click on Search & you will have all the info. you need to get started.
  24. HITCH-N-POST: located @ 5439 MO. STATE HWY 165 ( ACROSS THE ROAD FROM ENTRANCE INTO TABLE ROCK LAKE STATE PARK ) PHONE # 1-417-334-3395. Try rigging split shot 18 inches above the hook ( NO BOBBER ) vary the spilt shot weight to keep it on the bottom. Smallest hook possible, when rigged hook point & barb should be buried into chest of cricket coming up from below cricket & hook shank should be @ rear end of cricket with line tie on top side of cricket, cricket should hang straight on hook. I would start looking in about 30 feet of water, & go deeper if necessary, I have seen them caught in water 40+ feet deep. Probably going to need a bunch of crickets as the small gills we pick off your offering many times before it gets to the bigger ones. But, there a bunch of " BIG UN'S " out there we have had guests catch & clean in excess of 400 in a weeks time !!!!!!! " GOOD LUCK " !!!!!!!
  25. Go to www.bassresource.com & pull up there videos on the drop shot, you can also check you tube for info. between the 2 of them you should be well schooled & ready to go. " GOOD LUCK " !!!!!!!
