  1. Well I did end up watching it. Broncos running game was great. Makes it tough to stop Peyton when you have to load the box and have 1 on 1 coverage. Hard to really enjoy the win though with the Eric Berry situation. Hope it doesn't turn out to be anything serious.
  2. I think after this week it should be 1. Oregon 2. Alabama 3. TCU 4. FSU To me, FSU is closer to falling out of the playoff than moving up. Oregon has been dominant, but they will have a tough conference title game. Ohio State may well lose to Wisconsin, and Baylor looked awful.
  3. I am so into college football and the whole SEC championship thing right now I can't even get excited for this despite it probably being the biggest regular season game for both teams. Go Broncos, but honestly I might not even end up watching the game.
  4. Florida State will get crushed by the first team they play in the CFP (that's if G. Tech. doesn't do us all a favor by getting it over with on Saturday, and there's a great chance they will.) They have toyed with Boston College, Miami, NC State, and come out okay. Try that against Oregon, and tell me how that goes. You might be down 41-7 at half-time. The ONLY way FSU wins a championship this year is if they have a whole other level they just haven't shown us yet because of the quality (or lack thereof) of competition.
  5. Alabama ended up winning but their defense got exposed by Auburn. I'm feeling a lot better about Saturday. Amari Cooper is good, but for that to matter they'll need to deal with our d-line. I'm not entirely sure they'll be able to.
  6. Yeah, about that...... please forgive a rant. As a student at the game, the amount of the student section they allowed for GA was not ideal. Admittedly we got there 15 minutes before kick off, but it was a real struggle to find any seats. I understand giving some away, but they went way too far to the point where if you weren't early, you probably weren't getting a spot. Not a huge deal, but you do kind of expect more when you shell out good money for season tickets.
  7. I just don't see the playoff happening. Too many teams to jump over. Total chaos (which this year, isn't out of the question) is our only hope. In that sense, we should cheer for teams like Auburn, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Florida, Michigan, and everyone else playing a top 10 team. We don't need one or two upsets. We need all of those games to result in upsets. So our hope basically rests on apocalyptic levels of crazy. Who cares, though? I mean, if we beat Alabama/Mississippi State and get into a major bowl game, that's still going to be the best season in school history. So in every meaningful sense, the sky is still the limit with two games left to play. That this happened after some of the duds early on in the season is evidence that Gary Pinkel is one of the best coaches in college football, and that this team is tough.
  8. Well this game was what everyone said it would be......tough, defensive battle, coming down to a few clutch plays in the 4th quarter. The Hogs are probably the best 6-6 team ever and I knew this was going to be a tough one. Bottom line is that Missouri got a few breaks, but put themselves in a position to take advantage of that. There were multiple times in the late second quarter and early third where Missouri literally came within a play or two of letting Arkansas put the game away. That fake field goal stop really stood out as play that kept us in it, and that late 2nd quarter field goal by Baggett (who was out of his mind today) allowed them to at least go into the half thinking they had a chance. Sometimes it just comes down to hanging around, and refusing to get knocked out, while you wait for your offense to click just enough to get a win. Our defense and special teams (by that, I mean Andrew Baggett, who made up for all of his struggles over the past two years) allowed us to do that for 3 quarters. Then Maty Mauk and our offensive line got into that late game zone we've become used to this year, and that was that. What a beautiful game to watch. This team will be a massive underdog next week, but I couldn't care less. There are plenty of flaws, but I won't count them out against anyone. Bama (well, probably Alabama) should win handily, but if they don't have their foot on the pedal from the start this Mizzou team is fully capable of hanging around and pulling another upset. I'm excited for it.
  9. Of course we are not a top 4 team. But I will take back to back division titles and a shot at bama. Arkansas is legit, though.
  10. Thought I would start this. Will not be around to trash talk(gonna be at the game) but lets get this rivalry started! MIZ!
  11. Either that, or you can come out "hungover" from unexpected success and start out flat. I have no idea which it will be on Friday. It can go either way. Whatever happens, I hope our football team doesn't take any ideas from Mizzou basketball. They are doing some awful, awful things against Purdue right now.
  12. Arkansas may win, but I don't think it will have anyting to do with the pressure if that happens. This team is used to it, has basically felt they needed to win every game since that Georgia debacle to have a chance at getting to Atlanta. Against UT, they faced the exact same situation, where a loss would eliminate them. And those on the team last year had several must-win games at the end of the season then as well. This is a pretty comfortable, familiar position for Mizzou. It doesn't mean they win, but I don't worry about nerves getting in the way. Gary Pinkel is too good of a coach for that, and it's not like it's the first time we've been here. It could even work in the other direction. Arkansas has already exceeded expectations this season with two huge wins and bowl eligibility. You wonder how much they still have on the line at this point, while Mizzou has everything to play for.
  13. I don't think there's much of anything to report about our depth chart. One of our bottom of the depth chart wide receivers (Lawrence Lee) just left the program for whatever reason, but I'm not even sure he's caught a pass this year.
  14. I don't think any Mizzou fan (or certainly players/coaches) will be taking this game for granted. We've seen what Arkansas can do. We've also seen that Missouri can beat quality teams as well, so both teams have really proven themselves in the past few weeks. Everyone is talking about how Arkansas is playing their best ball of the year, and it's true, but so is Missouri. Those A&M and UT wins were legit, as were Arkansas' victories over LSU/Ole Miss. I do think Missouri is capable of winning if they play well (and get a few breaks), and maybe even should win on their home field and with so much on the line. But I don't know anyone who doesn't expect this one to go deep into the 4th quarter at least.
  15. I hope Arkansas is at full strength on Friday. If they are without their QB it would take some juice out of what should be a really good game. I know both defenses are good, but I bet we get a little more offense than everyone is expecting on Saturday. I'm not sure either team will be able to stop the other's running game consistently. I'll predict a 27-24 Missouri victory. But it could just as easily be flipped. This really feels like a game that is going to be decided by either a mistake or a great play deep in the fourth quarter. I plan to be there cheering Mizzou on. Hope we can get a sellout.
  16. Mizzou/Arkansas suddenly with high stakes next weekend? That has the potential to be a lot of fun. It won't take long to build a nice rivalry if both teams are this strong for the first few meetings. Right now (I could care less about Arkansas' 6-5 record after their play past two weeks) these are two top 20 teams. And honestly, that's being conservative......
  17. Depends on the cable provider. Can't rewatch any games on secn either which gets annoying.
  18. Freaking SEC Network+. I can't stream it online or watch it on TV. So I settled for the radio.
  19. Yep, they have improved every game so far. All you can ask from a ridiculously young team. Their next game is against #2 Arizona. Not sure you can ask much there beyond a solid effort.
  20. I like it.
  21. Well that's not where I was intending that to go....but figured it would go in that direction so I edited my post....to late it seems. I still like "Barefoot Brawl". The winning team gets 10 free rental canoes on the annual "Bull Float" and tickets to the Dixie Stampede . Losing team gets punished by also getting tickets to the Dixie Stampede.
  22. Yep. I've got to find something to hate about Arkansas football in the next two weeks for our "rivalry." In terms of the name, "Battle Line Rivalry" seems like a pale imitation of "Border Bar". Exactly what battle are we referring to, and shouldn't we have just gone full SEC and called it the "Ozarkalypse" or the "Barefoot Brawl"?
  23. I hope we can beat UT. I plan to be at the Arkansas game. I really want that one to end with an East title and a potential field storming. Anyway,UT fans are super annoying. I really do not want to deal with the aftermath of a Mizzou loss in that game.
  24. Yes, and this was funny the first 4000 times it was posted here.
  25. Bad first loss to open the season, but they looked A LOT better against Valpo. This season doesn't matter much from a wins/losses perspective. We were never going to push for a tourney berth. I just want to see them get better every game, and by late in the year, be a tough out for the better SEC teams. That's it, for my expectations this year. Still looking forward to the season, and it can't be worse from a viewer's perspective than #Haithball
