  1. Welcome aboard Leb. The lakes around Springfield are some good fishing, but don't forget your well within driving range of some of the best mid west stream and "river" fishing there is. Hang in there, you'll get 'er done. Karma
  2. Welcome!! The Buff is a great float, just don't forget to pay attention to the Bluegill, they are a blast!!!! Karma
  3. Welcome aboard my friend!!!!! Glad to see another youngun' pick up the habit of standing in a stream waving a stick. My Grandpap fished for bass with a flyrod exclusively and that's what he called it, Weapon of Bass Destruction! Karma
  4. Thanks from me too Tim. Sean, I'll try to remember to stay around the old dam till I see ya. I'm driving a 2006 Drk Blue F-150 Extended Cab, and I won't be to far from it.
  5. Heading over there Saturday morning for 3 days. Can't wait.
  6. Update for this morning. We got more ice and snow on top of that. My brother thawing out his truck in almost the exact same spot as the OP. A tree in my backyard.

    Iced In

I'm playin a little Guild Wars, and poppin in to monitor my systems at the office. Put a pot of beans and ham on this morning should be done around dinner time. Really just relaxing and catching up on a few forums. Gonna tye some later. Need a few more red and green brassies.
  8. I would have to go past my office to get to the lake, so I'd get busted if I went fishing. The pups would have had me rolling!!!!!!
  9. Just thought I'd post a pic outside my door this morning. Brrrrrrrr!!!!
  10. I don't know how the class did last year, but is there any chance of getting another class going this year?
  11. Would that boat and that seat design be okay for a really big guy? I'm 6'4" and about 275. Also, how hard is it to say change the seats from a tandem to a solo? I can't really afford a "new" canoe, but I know where there are a couple that have been ignored for sometime.
  12. In view of the way society has progressed in the last 30 years and the influence of "political correctness", these reports do not suprise me. Just like the USSR, this country is tearing itself apart from within.
  13. Hey bc, could you post the link to the form?
  14. I've never fished Hickory either, but it looks like it could have a great deal of potential. Will be planning a day trip over that way in Feb. I'd agree with the strategy of trying the suger before the vinegar.
  15. Went by there yesterday and the ramp is cleared off and in operation.
  16. I live in Eastern Taney and always hear that they are around the Glade Top area, but every time I go over there all I find is sign but no hogs. Been like that for 3 years. What I think is happening is the good ol boys are busting the piggies before saying anything. If you need a partner, hollar at me, I have a TC Contender with a .35 Rem barrel just itching to pop a piggie!!!!
  17. Well, there goes the neighborhood! I've known Warlock for almost 10 years. Can't wait to hookup at RR, should be a ton of fun. Welcome aboard my brother. Lee
  18. Man, those left handed tyers are really kinda backward huh? Kickin pattern Micheal, gonna try a couple of those on bass this spring.
  19. KICK BUTT video Dano. Thanks for posting. Gonna spend a few hours digging around on that site.
  20. Disney Puke? Looks like Walt Disney threw up. (hehe what movie is that from?)
  21. Picked mine up after work yesterday. Great hats. Thanks Phil. Lee
  22. Maybe it's just me, but it feels kinda strange to book 3 days at Roaring River Resort and I just live an hour away! Well, I'm meeting up with my great uncle for a day of fishing and to see if I can hook up with one of those monsters. We'll see how it goes. March 7-9. I'll be wearing my OzarksAnglers hat. Gonna pick it up today. Also, gonna try and stop in and say Howdy to Tim. Lee
  23. I certainly hope that a lot of people read this thread, because these are great examples of the outdoor practice of "layering". This is the number 1 weapon against hypothermia and really can save your life. Thanks everyone. Oh, as for me, poly sock liners, wool knee socks, silk bottoms (you should try them Dano ) fleece lounge bottoms, under armour top, fleece sweater hoodie, insulated vest and a weatherproof jacket if needed. I also have 2 pairs of gloves, neoprene/fleece fingerless and heavy mittens. Some of this may not be worn at the same time, but they are close at hand if needed. I am finding that the older I get, the colder it gets.
  24. All good suggestions and all added to the box. I also added a few Brassies and several different midges. Tying size 12 Buggers are a pain but should work well. I also added some drys, EH Caddis, Adams and a few Wulffs and Gnats. Gonna hit Crane Creek in a couple of weeks, the 3wt is itchin ta go. Lee
  25. Phil, Are these also available at the Tackle Store? Lee
