  1. Thanks Spoony! Gods handy work at its best. Merry Christmas to everyone!!
  2. Yes, I thank everyone for their post. Most informative .
  3. Ok guys, I'm in the market for the very warmest cold weather clothing (coveralls, bibs, jacket, ect). Lets hear what you think.
  4. Great job! Those crappie are about as good as it gets.
  5. Get well soon Jeff. Miss seeing those fish in the net.
  6. Nice Crappie!!! What did you catch them on if you don't mind sharing?
  7. I think there was 5 or 6 white crappie in the bunch. BrowningColledtor, we tried several brush piles but got nada. But I'm sure its like fishing the trees. You have to be on the right one to catch em.
  8. Got out yesterday with my old buddy Lou and we ended up with 23 really nice crappie. It took us all day to get them but since the flw boys were off limits it was a great day on the lake. Found them on bluffs that had pole timber on them. You would just get 2 or 3 here and there. Had to fish lots of spots to catch em. Chart and white jigs about 12 feet deep seemed to be the ticket. I love eating crappie. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
  9. I like the one knocker. I can add a BB or 2 if I want it to suspend. The ones I got ran great and had a little hunt to them.
  10. The predator warts I have run great. No complaints.
  11. As some of you know I design a few things for Bass Pro Shops and I get a chance to view sales of those items. I can assure you that their retail sales (stores) far out sells their internet sales. There is just something about seeing, touching and not having to wait and pay for shipping i guess.
  12. I used them in front of a redfin and have caught numerous fish on it. Buster Loving was also a big fan of using them on redfins also.
  13. The forum is just not the same without your reports and comments. I know James and I are praying for ya buddy. Hang in there.
  14. Whos begging? It beats stepping aside. I'm done.
  15. Who cares who asking for help. Help is help. If I need help for something, I could care less where the help comes from as long as I get help.
  16. They are probably afraid to. Introducing a young person to fishing and the stepping aside is not my idea of teaching. I thank God my Dad and Grandpa didn't introduce me to fishing and then stepped aside and said "it all yours now". They gave me all the help they could. Teaching me different knots, where fish live and how they react to certain conditions and so on. It made the fishing experience that much better. It made me want to learn more. In today's world, I'm sure the kids know of many websites to learn about fishing and I'd bet they visit them quite often. And this thread is not about them. It was about helping them. The title of the thread is "need some info to HELP high school fisherman"
  17. I'm not sure but a 50K boat is much more fun than a 14" Jon boat.
  18. I don't think they are fishing to become pros. I think they do it because they love it or want to learn more about it. Just like I don't think the guys play high school football to become part of the NFL. Geez, give em a break. I would have given anything to have had this chance when I was in school. I think is a great way to introduce a kid to a sport we all love. If they turn to pot or booze because they lost a tournament, then there is other problems with the kid. Hey Champ, did you use to get a big old bong hit or two when you lost a football game? I don't blame the manufacturers for pimping their product to the kids, The kids are the future of the sport and future customers of these manufacturers. Must there be a lesson to have fun?
  19. Looks like his chest is gonna bust the straps on that life jacket. Great fish Tripp and great job Grandpa!
  20. RPS, What do you think is the very best time of year to catch walleye on the rock?
  21. Congrats Chris! I'm sure they will both grow up to be fine young men.
  22. Very nice crappie!!!! How deep and what on.

  24. My Dad was a police officer in the St Louis area when I was growing up (back in the 1950's). Police were looked up to in those days. Walking the beats day and night. Kids would get in trouble and Dad would smack the in the butt and take the home to there parents. Back then, the parents would thank him. I long for the old days. Thanks to everyone who protects us. Seems like Thanks isn't enough. God Bless all of you!
  25. With everybody straightening hooks and split rings, maybe we loosen up our drags a little.
