  1. I will play along, 15 the 1st day, day 2 lead somewhere around 25 and then falling fast. This lake and the fish have there nose in the air, we need some weather in here bad, some strong north winds for a few days. I can say there must not be much of a bite up the James I have not seen many boats up here all wk. If you can get on the right docks now you might be able to load them up, also dragging baits threw the trees tops would be my guess
  2. Well here go's I'm not a Big Boy but I catch alot of fish on the blade this time of yr. I will start everyday off with it. I do things a little different, I don't use a stinger hook unless I'm in a tournament ( they go to deep in the fishes mouth) I don't use any type of trailer water is to clear. As far as speed I don't want to see the blade comeing back to the boat, now if the fish are on the tress I will burn that bait to the trees and then kill it. 85% of the time I throw a 1/2 oz blade, best sit up I have found is a Fatboy blade red head or silver and blk head, #3 blade nickle #5.5 blade nickle off white skirt with some gray or dark silver pulled into it. If there is some color in the water or a dark day I like to use a gold #3 blade. Other colors I use are off white with some puple or light blue or just a mouse color. To me it is what color you have the most trust in. The last thing I feel is Important is to make as long of a cast as you can, if you feel you have bumped something in the water kill the bait just a sec. This set up is what I use on the Rock best clear water sit up I have found. Just my 2 cents worth
  3. Ulrich Marine in Branson West Fred and his guys are the only ones to touch my motor.
  4. I was going to let this die but I'm not that smart. To start with I know what I was told. I pay my $35. for my park pass that is to use anytime not just when it is ok with the Marina owners. It went like this I ask at the gate shack if they were letting people use the ramps and was there parking, I was told talk to Stan and he pulled up to my truck. He said the over flow parking was about full and He wanted to save that for the slip renters. I then ask why can't I park along the road like any other time when the Corps lots are full, He said we are saveing all the remaining parking for the renters.Just so you know I never said a thing about reporting anyone, I never said anything about not being welcome at the Marina I was just stateing a fact. Those ramps and park was built with Tax Dollars I do not and have not parked in your parking, I park in the parking I have bought the pass for. Just the way it happened I left that day for sake of it being not worth the effort but now next time it will be worth the effort.
  5. Went down to the Cape Fair marina today to put in and go fishing, stoped at the gate shack to ask if the ramp was open and was told to talk to Stan from the Marina. Here is where I get mad he said a few parking spots left that they wanted to save those for the people who rented slips from the Marina. BS just why we don't need another DAM marina on this lake . MONEY TALKS working man is screwed.

  15. I must start with saying my truck showed -15 on the way to work on thursday morning, it would take a snowcat and maybe a D9 cat to get my boat from my shop with the snow drift in front of th door. When I looked at the lake on Tue, eve the water was hard down to the boat dock at CF. The only bushes a man could fish are 10ft from waters edge. I was just messing around guys haveing a little fun in light of the weather. I am sorry.
  16. I put on around 7 at Cape Fair and ran down, started with a blade and caught them good. As the sun came up I had to switch to a jig in the bushes but they were eating it. Not alot of size on the blade but the better fish were in the bushes, broke 3 off and my best was around 5.5 or so just lots of good fish. My best 5 would have pushed the scales at or near 17. the last bush I threw into the pig flashed on the jig came back and got it it was 7 or better as I got it out of the bush my wife nudged me and sayed I'm cold can you put more wood on the fire and start coffee we need to get to work. Man was it fun upto that point.
  17. Thanks everyone I will check into these
  18. There was someone on here sometime back talking about painting some baits, I need some painted and was needing there name Thanks
  19. I don't know for sure but I belive they are just like Falcon or any of the main rod companys, you know longer return them you have to send them back to the company. Chech there web page.
  20. School House is about 3/4 mile above campers pt. hard bend in the lake big flats all over in the area.
  21. And you say you have thick skin, If I remember right about this time last yr you came on here and started the same crap. Is that the only time you can catch fish on this lake is in the fall? maybe that is why you don't fish in the summer. Men like Bill, Champ and a few others spend alot of time on this lake, and if there having problems boy it's tuff. You know these men call it like they see it no rose colored glasses. I say a few of those pics were of the same fish so start on me. that is right you done with this

  23. Make a point today to thank a vet They are the reason we can all rest easy at night.
  24. I agree with most of what BB is saying, one part that has not been brought up is the cost. Hill and Hill are the ones hauling the stumps rocks ect, right now they are getting these stumps from a hillside where they are removing timber at the edge of the National Forest just west of Cape Fair. I thank them for the effort they have put into this but, come on they have coverd up some very good spots and now have a pile of my DD 22s and I getting less and less bites on these spots. I agree enough is enough lets put some money into ramps
  25. Just something for you men to think about, next wkend the PAA starts there tournament here alot of big names and a few very good locals will be fishing what pattern will it take to win? Also at the end of April B.A.S.S. will be here and as soon as that is over with the FLW Tour will be here starting the next day. They have picked some great times to be on the Rock would love to see these guys show up at mid June, or mid Nov. they would wack them. What do you men think,
