Got to fish a little bit on Stockton this weekend. Hit the lake Saturday morning, fished from about 8:30 to 11:30. Tried crawler harnesses on bottom bouncers for the first hour. No bites, only a foul hooked carp. Switched to a Slow Death rig and started immediately catching fish. Boated seven walleye, two gills, a drum and a bass. The only problem was, the walleye were all 1/4" to 1" too short to keep. Fished the flats, caught fish (walleye) in 12-24 feet of water, although 20-24 was the most productive. Water temp 86. I think next year is gonna be a great walleye year as these fish keep growing! Gave a nice young guy and gal a tow back to Mutton whose boat broke down. If he posts on here, I'd appreciate to hear what the damages are. (Hopefully just a shift cable)
Sunday morning I worked coves in 20' of water and only caught small blue gill. Moved back to the flats and caught more small bluegill. Decided to relax and swim a bit before I had to head home. Had a great, relaxing weekend at the lake. Good Lord willing, I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone for their reports, it really helps me get on the fish! keep 'em coming!
