  1. Either I am in a funk or the bass are, been out last 2 days and have 1 small keeper to show for it. Maybe it is a early bite because have not got out till 10 or 11 in morning. First day fishing toll bridge area and today fishing Shawnee Bend ramp area to 6 MM. There are fish on beds at the house at 28 mm and also in the Shawnee Bend area. Hopefully saving myself for one big one this weekend but more likely donating again. ?
  2. I would not put in at the glaize, you will have 10x the fishing pressure vs. the nianguas
  3. My advice is you can't go wrong with gravois or the glaize but your problem is going to be that the Big Bass Bash is this weekend and there will be boats everywhere. I have been catching them shallow on the secondary points mostly, 2 inch grubs with 1/32 to 1/16 oz head depending on wind, they want it VERY slow. Good luck
  4. We put in at PB2 After all the tourneys left and fished the glaize Saturday and ended with 23 between the 2 of us. Wow were there a lot of boats fishing, at least 2-3 boats in every pocket from PB2 to Fort L. area. I guess it was getting me ready for the BBB ?. It was slow for us as well but I am no crappie guru either, just throwing 16th oz jigs tipped with John Deere green triple threat grub.
  5. I just cut 15 and only 2 had eggs and all were over 10.5 inches
  6. It has begun for crappie
  7. MoPan, you are right. Forgot them fish are from LOZ ?. Yes, Pam and Dale at Nemo are good folks and we like to keep them out of trouble. All that's in that lake are a couple of toothy critter varieties.
  8. Shhh, no fish in Pomme, Only Muskie which my partner caught about a 36 incher on a wiggle wart. Saw him coming after it at boat and couldn't reel fast enough and short lined him. He was afraid of losing his old wiggle wart but he got lucky and didn't cut the line and the battle was on. We have been fishing the lake for over 20 years and it is one we like coming to for sure. The hospitality of the folks who run Nemo Bridge Resort now we like and try to keep them busy ?
  9. Well it is not only tournament fisherman, was out crappie fishing last week and was fishing a larger pocket that had a few lay downs and a guy pulled up on the next lay down 20 yards up from me so there must be rude fisherman in general, not just tournament fisherman. Lucky for him I only needed one more for my limit or he would have got a ear full so it is not just "tournament fisherman", a few give all a bad name.
  10. Fished a small club tourney past weekend, 6:30-3:30 Sat. and 6:30-11:30 Sun. Pre-fishing was pretty good Thursday afternoon fishing flat banks for my partner and I. He had a 5.5 to 6.5 lber on a jig and I had one over 4 on a wiggle wart with a few other keepers. Friday we ended up catching 7 keepers a piece with nothing under 2 lbs. throwing jigs, wiggle warts and spinnerbaits under very windy conditions. Tourney morning we took off under cold front blue bird conditions and spot #1 had a boat on it, spot #2 boat on it so to spot #3. Partner ended up with a limit and I struggled throwing wiggle wart and went to bottom bouncing as they didn't seem to want the moving bait this morning and fished way to fast in panic mode and ended with 3 for day, not good. Sunday took off and spot 1 had a boat in it again so went to spot 2 and caught a couple keepers and then we went to see if spot 1 was open and was able to fish there for first time and caught a couple more and we ended our day with both having small limits throwing jigs and shaky heads. Partner had 8.95 on day 1 and 9.55 on day 2 for 4th place. 1st place had 21.67, 2nd place 19.67 and big bass 5.66. Baits of choice seemed to be jigs and shaky heads and for bigger fish spinnerbaits. Fishing should be excellent by end of this week. Good luck.
  11. Still have a few reels left if interested
  12. Sorry guys, probably my fault. We have our first club tourney this weekend so that is why we will be having this cold front ?. Just when the crappie were just getting good for me again to, had a limit yesterday in couple hours. Dinner is going to be good tonight!
  13. Any of your big public ramps are fine, as for closest Pb2 or Larry Gale coming down 44 or Coffman coming in from 70
  14. We left them still biting so we will see if cold front moved them back off today. You know what's for dinner tonight ?
  15. Crappie were biting good this evening, wife and I had 23 off one tree
  16. Sounds like our day Saturday. Buzzbaits, really! Way up the glaize. Not around here
  17. I think it went to BPS fish tank. Also fish was not caught or heard of being caught in last couple years and then caught 2 times on same lure in a few weeks.
  18. Nice, cold front slowed them down a bit. I was out with a buddy and we could only manage 2 keeps with 14 or so shorts. Lot of boats out fishing yesterday. Pict of best fish yesterday on spinnerbait
  19. What I like about it is that it is small and compact and the fact it is a heavier jig (1/2 oz) than a traditional finesse jig like the Eakins or similar. My buddies jig represents this well.
  20. I was wondering the same thing, I know the Uxa fish was released at PB2, not sure where in glaize this fish was caught. If so, that fish must be getting Alzheimer's in its old age.
  21. That would NOT happen this year I would almost guarantee you. They would be warning people way before hand.
  22. Trailers play a big part for sure, as well as jig bulk
  23. Yep, I had Wayne order me some before my buddy started making them, they are a good jig for sure
  24. Wayne up at Fitz tackle can't keep them in stock.
