  1. Lake came up over a foot and a half over night with 3 to 5 inches of rain. Pulling 44 CFU with more rain expected today. Wrench your pocket fish should really be good now ?. Went out yesterday with a buddy and it was pretty slow until we found a dock that was stacked with fish. Ended up with 9 keepers between us with mostly 15-16 inch fish but had one good one pushing 5 lb. and another 3+. Also had a bonus fish, caught a big walleye for the frying pan.
  2. If you are new to fishing and bait casting reels, the reel spool will still rotate when your bait hits the water, need to use your thumb to stop or slow down reel spin at the end of your cast.
  3. Use to have good luck with gene larew tomato ribbon tail worms in dirty water and on clear water at times
  4. Sounds like a weatherman.
  5. Went out last night for about 4 hours around tan-tar-a area and could only muster 1 good keeper and 5 shorts. Could not get bit on main lake points and pockets. Caught fish 3/4 way back in cove on round flat points using jig. Water here is a heavy stain with shad everywhere.
  6. I would take rps advice, he fishes regularly for them. Not sure about guide service at Pomme but a GOOD guide will definitely cut into the learning curve. I see a lot of guys trolling for them around the wheatland boat ramp area and have caught some there while bass fishing.
  7. There are some good eyes in LOZ but not many smallies, would have to go way up the glaize or rivers to catch smallies. Want to catch some eyes, Pomme is full of them, catch them regularly while bass fishing
  8. Hello oldplug, yes I do that a lot as well. When using a 3/4 oz. or heavier you are getting a reaction strike vs. a feeding strike.
  9. 7 foot heavy rod is what I use, some even go with a longer rod. You go from a 7 foot heavy to even a 6'6" rod and it feels like a spinning rod. I also exclusively use Seaguar Invizx in 15 to 20 lb. test. Just got my 3000 yard spool of 20 lb. today matter of fact. Only way to buy it is in bulk 1,000 or 3,000 yard spools for the better price breaks. Paid $166.54 for 3,000 yards off Internet which I think is pretty darn good price, should last me a while I hope.
  10. Fishing deeper with the jig definitely takes some concentration and when they want it boy they get it. If you miss a strike do not reel in and throw back, just let it fall back down and he usually comes back for it.
  11. In my opinion from 25 to 40 CFS would be considered heavy generation, 12 to 25 medium and below that light generation. Generating is usually always good to pull nutrients thru system. When do the fish relate to it, I am sure some do and some don't. Them darn fish don't read the books that I do.
  12. Lake low??? Not even a half foot below summer pool, chocolate milk water go shallow like nianguaMark said, water was just a nice stain around 28 mm before rain, not sure how it is now. Pulling lots of water so I would point hop
  13. water in gas, plugs, or ready to spin a hub? Fishnwrench is a boat mechanic and will chime in
  14. There will be current ALL weekend. Link below: http://apps.ameren.com/HydroElectric/Reports/Osage/HeadWaterTailWater.aspx
  15. Caught one this week on LOZ that I accidently ripped a gill and didn't make it. When I cleaned it still had eggs.
  16. I am sure there are tons of politics and kickbacks for BASS on that list.
  17. You got that right! Wish everyone you put in produced, but they sure do not all produce for you. Lots of work but when you start catching out of a pile you put in it makes you feel that much better about the work put in.
  18. Finally put my boat in my dock after fishing spring club tourneys and went out Monday night to check on brushpiles I placed this winter which I have not even fished yet. Fished from 6:30 till 8:30 and had 5 keepers on jig. 2 best ones
  19. LOZ kentuckies and crappie, yummy!
  20. Sun and the stained water really warmed it quickly, other depth finder showed couple degree cooler
  21. MT creeks used to be awesome fishing but lake has changed and now it is more main lake fishing for the bass anyway I believe. Creeks have silted in over the years and fish have changed I think. Have not been up there in several years but know one of the top tourney guys that usually takes a check in bigger tourneys. Just to many other good lakes to fish. MT is definitely a spot specific lake to catch fish on a regular basis but can still produce some very nice bass but like I said there are to many other lakes that I would rather spend my time fishing.
  22. Would this image be just a bunch of shad throughout water column that are not grouped up? This was at LOZ in a cove I was fishing and screen was lit up like this in most of cove.
  23. I had a keeper K in our small club tourney same weekend as BB Bash that had the same thing but not as bad caught in mill creek
  24. I think there is a ramp in back of linn creek but I have never used it so don't no much about it
  25. Millers landing has a ramp but just closed ramp permanently, the one behind island at tan-tar-a is private for guest only
