  1. Even Woodstock left behind a huge mess, you'd think the same "Earth Day" folks would pick up their used bong water, but not so much. Good point RSBreth, that's what I never understand when I see litter in a camp ground or public use fishing area. It would seem logical that the type of people who like the outdoors and make use of these places would be the last people to trash it. I am no tree hugger but sometimes it is sobbering to see what dirty, destructive creatures we can be.
  2. Wow, guys I don't what to say other than thanks for the gesture. Tell you what, take that ten bucks and take a kid fishing. The influence from quality men such as yourselves will go alot further in insuring things like this won't continue to happen. That is money better invested than repairing of few scratches on an old fishing boat. Thanks again , keep catching.
  3. I was fishing campers point last Friday around dusk when a dad and three or four of his kids showed up and set up camp. I went by Saturday a.m. and noticed some trash by the water but didn't pay much attention as the same campers were still there and I figured they would clean up.By Sunday 10:00 a.m the camp site was vacant and it looked like a bomb had gone off for all the litter on the bank and much of it right next to the water. I fished the point for about 20 minutes until I got so mad I pulled my boat up on the shore and started picking up garbage. By the time I was done I had spent 45 minutes, and had four full trash bags in the floor of my boat, full of this guys dirty dypers, cans, paper plates, and general refuse. To top it off, this S.O.B. threw three more full bags of trash in the thickest patch of poision ivy that could be found at about the 930' ele. And if this was not enought, I have no keelguard, and I have three huge gouges on my Ranger to show for my efforts. The most disturbing thing about this is this A..HOLE was with kids--- What values is he passing on?
  4. Guys , We must support ANGLERS EDGE in Ozark and every other mom and pop store for that matter. We lost Mark in Nixa (Anglers' Edge now in Rodgersville) which was a crime. Are we talking about the inventory of the big box store?...no. Are we talking about the long check out lines of you know who?...no. Are we talking about a teenager who has never heard of green pumpkin trying to help you? ...no. As with every other good thing in fishing, if we do not support it we will lose it. Ty, the owner of ANGLERS EDGE, is the real deal and has the product, the knowledge, and advice to help us all catch more fish. You can go to Pro Cuts and get a crappy hair cut or you can go to the corner barber and get a cut, shine and shave and walk out feeling o.k. about spending a few hard earned bucks. For the record, I have no hair and this is not a paid advertisment.
  5. Techo, DUDE!!! Have you considered running for public office? If so I would quit my job and be your campaign mgr. I have to fish with you some time. WELL DONE.
  6. That report is one of the many reasons I have been praying I draw you at Bull.----I really need a check!
  7. Congrats to you and Donna Sunday, that was a fine performance given the company you were keeping.I passed Donna on the dock Saturday and wanted to introduce myself but she had a toad in the bag and I didn't want to keep her. This is my first year with CPA and I'm planning on fishing the rest of the year if the fishing account allows. Thanks to all who replied and all the great advise. I hope I didn't give the wrong impression as I don't blame the pro for my poor performance. I knew the deal when I sent in the money. My job is to fish the water i'm given to fish. I learned alot Saturday and thanks to this forum I will be better prepared should this situation arise again.Champ, its people like you and Donna that drew me to CPA and I have met nothing but quality people since I've been there.Congrats again and I will see you and Donna in the check line at Bull Shoals.
  8. I fished the CPA Pro-Am as a co-angler this Saturday and drew one of our legandery sight fisherman. He put on a clinic and was a great guy, it was a pleasure to watch a pro at work. However, for the majority of the day the trolling motor was on high and neither one of us had a bait in the water or my half of the boat was literally sitting in tweleve inches of water and I was pinned to the front corner of a dock with no water to fish. When I could throw to open water I caught a few shorts on a Fluke and a Senko. My question is what else could I have tried and how does a guy approach a day when he has such limited angles and water to fish.
  9. I am amazed by the blessings we have here in the Ozarks. Great fishing and men like Bill and Phil who are so genereous with their time, talents and knowledge. I would also add Mike Webb to this thread as I ran into him today and he did not know me from "Adam" ,(nor should he), and he was the some caliber of professional as we were treated to last night. Given what I have experienced in the last 24hrs.,there is know place that I would rather live and fish than right here in the Ozarks.
  10. Thanks for all the replies and all the great advice. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this forum and how much I respect the wisdom of the members who post here. See you on the water.
  11. I am interested in fishing a circuit next year as a co-angler. I have fished the BFL but thinking of fishing either Central or Heartland and would appreciate some opinions. However, what I am really seeking feedback on is co-angler etiquette in regards to helping with gas money. In the past I have given my pros 30-40 dollars at the end of the day regardless of how our day went. The problem with this has been when I have had a good day and my pro has not I have had a few guys act put off that I did not give them more. Then I started giving the pro the money first thing before take off. The problem with this has been that take off morning is crazy enough and some guys seem as though petty cash is the last thing they want to miss with. What is the proper etiquette and amount. Thanks
