  1. Nice report. Did you keep the catfish?
  2. There too busy worshipping Obama.
  3. They have been running water almost non stop since the end of time. You will have no problem hitting any bottom or rebar, but make sure you call just in case pigs are flying and they drop it down to 2 units.
  4. What catches more.... Dori or Nemo?
  5. I bet that river has nothing on the Gasconade. One of the easiest places to catch large smallmouth.
  6. When does the hunting season for heron begin. I got my shotgun ready.
  7. Welcome to the forum. If you ever fish Bull Shoals for walleye email me.
  8. Welcome to the forum. Never fished in OK before. I am strictly a fly fisherman. Any good places there?
  9. What is wade fishing? It's been so long since anyone has been able to wade Taneycomo. I love the Corp of Engineers.
  10. Nice pictures. I know Arkansa was good for something. Just kidding fellas.
  11. Went to the Fly Tying Convention in Boliver this weekend and it was great. I had never been to one and I brought my 6 year old daughter with me. I didn't know how well she would do there, but she stayed interested for about 5 hours which is impressive. I learned a lot and met a ton of great guys. My daughter loved learning how to cast a fly rod and collected 14 new flys for her dad to try out, if she will let me touch them. As many tiers as there are in the Branson Area they should have one of these here in Branson.
  12. Anybody ever use this fly on Taneycomo or on the White River? They sure do brag about it in Canada and I'm wondering if it is as good as they say it is.
  13. The other part of the fly is Orange 3-D Hedron Holographic Fly Fiber. I'm assuming you just tie it in behind the copper wire and wrap it to the eye.
  14. Welcome to the forum. I used to live in Arnold if you know where that is. What part of St. Louis are you from?

    "gut" Fly

One of my favorite flies is called a Whitey Tightey. It's a simple fly that your momma could tie. No offense to anyones' momma. Take a small jighead and paint it whtie. Then take some Uni Thread 6/0 White and wrap down the bend of the hook. Build a tapered body with the fat part of the fly close to the eye and then throw that by some guts and hang on for dear life.
  16. I would try the water below the bridge. Less people and lot more fish.
  17. When the water gets that crazy I found the only way to get to the bottom is using about a 2 ft section of sink line. The fish seem to stay on the bottom when they run that much water.
  18. Temple Forks are cheaper, but I have a 9' 4W Sage Launch and I absolutely love it. Great for casting 6x or 7x leaders.
  19. Any one know the record for the state crappie in Missouri. My brother set the record back in the early 80's with a 4 1/2/lb crappie from Clearwater Lake caught on a pink jig. I'm sure that record has been broken now for a long time.
  20. Go to the next FLW tour in Branson at the Hilton Convention Center and you can make your own for free.
  21. Welcome to the forum. I live in Branson and love all the places to fish around here. No other place like it in Missouri.
  22. Do you tie in the burlap and then wrap it back to the eye?
  23. Crane Creek is a great place, but does anyone know if it flooded now?
  24. Great story. I wish my grandpa took me fishing.
  25. Did you catch any of the fish by the 2 wingdams just above the dam?
