  1. There's got to be a "wet dream" joke somewhere in this conversation, just can't come up with one.
  2. Sounds like a fish story to me!

Thanks Martin and everyone else on this forumn. I will be draggin a green pumpkin flake worm, doing the drop shot and flipping the wackie, in 25-30' 1st thing in the morning. If tha tdoesnt work, I have 6 other rods all ready to go. Coffee pot set at 445am and boat on the water by 5am.
  4. Love it first thing in a.m. Usually 1/2 hour before sunrise, during the "grey" period. Having the white bass boiling on the surface as far as I can see and all the way around me. Catching 20 in a row, throwing a silver spoon on light weight gear. Cup of coffee full. P break over. Priceless.

Was out at 0 dark thirty this morning. Threw the kitchen sink. Spoons, c rig, wakkie w, crankbaits, spinners at all different depths, ledges, points, flat and caught 1 nice white trolling. Anyone having any luck? If so, what depth, bait? This was very humbling!!! Got off by 9am.
  7. Well Bill, at least you still have the baitcasters. If your ever fishing the point across from Viney Creek and you reel up the most expensive rod and reel sold on the 80's, feel free to use. It WAS my all time favorite until the gentlemen casting, let go of the rod as he cast it, straight into the water. I'm sure it back lashed too, so you may have to untangle.
  8. With the Missouri river now flooding, most likely won't see levels at TR going down for some time.
  9. Nitro. If I stick one end of the tester in thw water, can I get some fish to float up to the surface?
  10. Went out at 530am. So I can share what didn't work. Lots of fish feeding on the top surface, but couldn't get too many bites and the ones we had didn't stay on the line long. Fished a red fin up near brush on long point-nada. Fished grub-nada. Caught a few on white/yellow spinner baits. Saw huge balls of shad, bigger than a basketball. Saw this last year too. The sm bass appeared to be hitting small bugs on the top of water, until about 830am. But I was too stubborn to get off the spinner. Everything seamed to shut down at 830am. Water was very still, with zero wind. So tomorrow, I will be trying the ledge or steep bluffs to see if that works.
  11. I feel the opposite. Sorry guys. They need to sit around and discuss with others. Everyone knows what is happening right now with the Mississippi floods and whatever decision happens with TR eventually impacts downstream. So a cautious approach with all parties in this case is pretty much warranted.
  12. Hey, NICE Catch! Fish ain't too shabby either! Good for you for finding someone that will fish or even out fish you. Question thou: Does she clean and cook fish too?
  13. i have heard reports of fish with nightcrawlers in their bellies, as the flooding of the shoreline is driving up the nightcrawlers. Sounds good in theory. Wish I was there to try it out. PB and J worms would seem to be the ticket. Hopefully, by the 14th when I get back down to the lake, I'll get a chance to try this out. Please keep the postings coming, so I can dream some until then.
  14. May God Bless both of you.
  15. Looks closed or pretty close to it. Heard that eagle rock and shell knob are being planned to be closed shortly. Only passing on what I heard. No way to confirm.
  16. As of right now, not possible to get out. 4 more dump trucks full of rock and the road will be passable. Rumors are that eagle rock and shell knob bridges will be closed and that 112 down by roaring river is closed. So nowhere to go if true. Of coarse I've been stuck here all day and am only passing on what I just heard Just stopped raining about 1/2 hour ago.
  17. Its pouring again. 950am wed Couldn't add the link for debris picture. Can't figure out how to on my bb.
  18. Like a dummy, tried to go out Tuesday. Put in at Viney Creek, as they have a steep ramp. Tried dragging a worm, flippin, soon and crank bait in the brush, the mouth of owl and roaring river and no fish. The debris is everywhere. I attached a picture showing the white river. It will be weeks before the brown water settles and the logs are gone Taking everyones advise and staying off. Besides the debris, the wakes will cause havock with the docks. I would not recommend anyone coming down this weekend. I'm heading back to Wichita if I can get out of Emerald Beach. I heard both creeks are now over emerald drive. Worse than 2008. And its all headed downstream.

  20. I'm down here this week on vacation. Drove in from Wichita late last night. I've seen rain in my day, but this rain is steady and heavy. Between last night and today it looks like it will be at 2008 levels easily. Especially if Beaver is over the top and no end in sight. Once the creeks and run off start, it will be that high. Hope all are ok. I'm down in Emerald Beach if any one needs assistance. Now the important question. How does this impact the spawn? How would you fish this the next few days with the high levels? That is of course if it ever stops raining. Lights are flickering. So about to lose power. Glenn
  21. From Springfield, I usually come down 60 through Republic, then south on 39 down near Aurora. Viola is South of the Shell Knob Bridge about 5 miles.
  22. Great ending. But the real question should be. Did they catch any fish and what were they using?
  23. depending on how old she is, you may be able to trade her in.
  24. Just wanted to say "THANKS" to all that have posted over the last couple of years. You see, I have to work and only get limited chances to be down at TR. So, as my day gets stressful, I pull out my BB and read the latest fishing reports. Wow!!! What a great way to take my mind off the day to day stress and think about TR and fishing. Thanks again. And I promise to get better at posting when I catch some fish next trip.
