Greg also just signed a deal with BassX lures out of Rogers as his title sponsor. Super nice guy and a great asset to both companies. I know they were working on a BassX wrap for his boat the last few days. Can't wait to see the finished product. Congratulations Greg! Good luck at the Rock!! bassxlures.com

Anyone been to swepco since they started generating again? I've been wanting to get over there but haven't made it yet. I'm gonna try to get over there this week. Just curious if anyone had a report they'd share. Thanks!

Anti Reverse Bearing?
nwaoutdoorsman replied to nwaoutdoorsman's topic in General Angling Discussion
Thanks for the advice! -
Can anyone tell me if your suppose to oil or grease the roller clutch bearing in a shimano curado? I've heard both and haven't gotten any solid answers yet. I've heard if I do it wrong it will allow my anti reverse to slip and I dont need that problem. Please help! Thanks!

I have been using Bass-X jigs. They are made locally in Rogers and sold at hook Line and sinker. They're similar to eakins and others. They make a roundball and a football head. And I think they're coming out with a flippin jig. They have a website but I dont have the link. I'm by no means a pro or a great jig fisherman, but I like 'em. Just thought you guys might want to check 'them out.

Topwaters at first light or late evening are great. Later once the sun gets up throw a C-rig or a football jig. Dropshot bite and spoons are going good now fished above treetops about 20-25ft deep near shad. Shakey head is always a good go to bait. You can also throw DD22's, fat free shad or DT16's and DT20's all in chartruese blue or chrome citrus shad. You can throw those at night too. Also at night throw black spinnerbaits and 10" berkley power worms on a texas rig in red shad or plum. Fish channel banks, any brush piles you can find, long gravel points and channel points. Most any point on Beaver has a brushpile on it, so they're easy to find. Just gotta find the ones that are holding fish.

I didnt have any trouble keeping my boat on plane at 30. In fact, I could keep it there about 27 or so. It was just fine. I fish on Beaver alot and there is no speed limit. I dont have any problem with it at all. Great idea! We caught a few fish on a spinnerbait, but most and better came on a jig. Had a 3 1/2-4lber wrap me up in a cedar and we played tug a war for awhile, but I won the battle eventually.

Thanks guys! Fixing to walk out the door right now and head that way. Hoping for a topwater bite this evening and hopefully some more of that black spinnerbait action when the lights go out. However I have to do it though is fine with me. We're gonna launch at campbells point and fish between mill creek and big creek. I'll let ya'll know how we do. Thanks again!

I was up at Eagle Rock Monday night and had a great time. Fished til about 1 and had several good fish on a black spinnerbait. I'm gonna come back up tomorrow night and Sat. night. Seems like I've heard there is a speed limit at night and that I must keep my running lights on at all times. Not that I wanna run 60mph but I would like to know what the rules are if anyone can please tell me. All my fish came off of steeper rock points. Also caught a few on a hula grub. It was great time! Thanks!

Anyone been night bass fishing on Beaver? I've been several times and the bass are kicking my tail. I cant catch much of anything. Went Sat. night and stayed almost all night. Thru a spinnerbait, buzzbait, dd22, various worms and all kinds of other stuff and caught 3 nonkeeper spots and 1 barely a keeper LM. I love night fishing but when the water is high like this it just messes me all up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an '09 Polaris Sportsman XP 550 4 wheel drive, EFI, power steering, 14' aluminum wheels. Its sharp! I won it in Rogers, AR at an FLW event about 2 weeks ago and was thinking I would keep it, but I've decided to sell or trade for a boat of equal value. I'm looking for an 18ft aluminum boat with about a 115 on it. Preferably a triton or a tracker. The 4 wheeler is valued at $8200.00. I will consider any reasonable offers. Taxes are paid. Not a scratch on it. You can see one just like it on polaris.com. Its the red one. If anyone is interested you can contact me at hodgehandymanservice@gmail.com and its in Springdale, AR. Thanks!

I havent seen any stripers schooling..........kinda. I did see something very interesting a couple weeks back. A buddy and I were fishing in the back of blackburn creek a couple weeks ago. We werent exactly tearing 'em up, but I noticed some shad skipping and pointed the boat that direction. As we got closer I saw a small V make a half circle and come right at the boat. It got close enough I saw that it was a small bass about 10'' long and right at that moment about a 40lb striper came outta nowhere and that poor lil guy met his maker. It was close enough that water landed in the boat. Undoubtly one of the most incredible things I've ever seen on the water. We casted rattletraps for 30 minutes after that trying to hook up and never got a bump. Very cool though, very cool!!!! Saturday afternoon I was in the very back of north clifty and did catch some big whites and a striper about 4-5lbs. There are a ton of shad in the backends right now and its a great place to catch whites, stripers and hybrids. I usually catch alot of LM in the backends on rattletraps right before they go on beds and right after if shad are present. Saturday there were shad in all the windblown pockets and backends that I fished. Might try it for some stripers.

Fished Beaver again today. Same areas and tried to run the same pattern, but without the clouds and overcast skies it just didnt work as well. Caught several shorts and 12'' spots on the blade, but no good fish. Ran towards the dam and threw a grubs on pea gravel points and caught several short smallmouths with one keeper about 2lbs. Left there and went to Moulder where we found some calmer water and started sight fishing. Saw alot a good fish on beds with a few locked on and willing to bite. Saw several in the 2-3lb range and one about 5lbs, but we couldnt get her to bite. Caught all our sight fish by pitching a wacky rigged senko on the beds in green pumpkin.

It was a great day to be on Beaver. Best day I've had there in awhile. The wife and I put in at twin coves around 10 and started fishing right there. First fish I caught was a 3lb spot on a blade. Caught a couple shorts and then a 4lb LM and then a few shorts and 15-16" fish. We left there and fished a point and pocket in Van Hollow with no bites. Ran to North Clifty and started fishing windblown pockets still throwing a blade. We caught several keepers both LM and spots, we had 2 4lbers and 5 3+lbers. We threw a war eagle 3/8 green shad with double willows. I saw several beds, but the wind was blowing enough that I never could make out any fish on them. Saw a couple boats that looked to be sight fishing, but we never tried that since they were eating the blade so well. Hopefully they'll bite as well tomorrow. I cant wait to get back out there. Water temps were mostly around 65, but I did see water as warm as 70.

I run a 2007 519 Ranger. Its blue, white and silver and has a 200 etec hanging on the back of it. Drive a 2004 white GMC Sierra. I live in Springdale and I dont make it up there as often as I like, but I love TR and am trying to learn my way around up there. I fish Beaver alot, so if you see me out there dont hesitate to stop and say hello.

I want to request prayers for the family of Randy Morris, who passed away this morning in a motorcycle wreck. I don't know if anyone on here knew Randy, but if you did you know he was a really great guy. He owned Big M Construction and was a pro on the FLW tour. He was a very dear friend and he will be greatly missed. Thanks for your prayers!

That was me in the Ranger. Blue white and silver 519 with an etec. I'll keep an eye open for ya next time I'm up that way. May come up tomorrow, but if so I may go towards Campbells Point area.

It was a rough day for me too. I put in at cow creek this morning and fished in cow and spring creeks. Tried to catch em on a spinnerbait, and did catch a few. But it was very slow for me. I ran across the lake and threw a grub on some pea gravel points and caught one about 10 inches long. The wind was blowing me all over, so I ran back to spring creek and fished all the arms on the left side. I threw a spinnerbait, jerkbait, swimbait all with no results. Picked up a senko and casted to cedars in 10-20ft of water and caught several spots, most were 14-15 inch range. I didnt keep track of numbers and didnt put any on a board to measure them, so I could say how many shorts or keepers. But the senko definitely salvaged my day. Otherthan the wind being brutal it was a good day. Also, saw a van in the parking lot that said branson guide service I believe and had a ozark anglers sticker on it. Wish I had gotten the chance to say hello, but the rig was gone when I loaded out.

If I get to go this week I'm thinking about going towards the Lost Bridge area. The smallmouths should be starting to eat a grub up that way. Last year a buddy and me went up there almost everyday in April and whacked on 'em pretty hard. I went up there earlier in the year and we just didnt do any good. I been fishing between PC and RB targeting LM since then and we've had some really good days, but I'm ready for a change of scenery. May have to go to Table Rock after reading all the great reports from up there. Its amazing how much better the fishing is just on the other side of the dam. Anyone been up towards Lost Bridge or the dam? Catching any SM's?

Fishing was slow for me Staurday too. And that fog was really bad. Fished the DU tournament outta Prairie Creek and they let everyone go right at 7. Kinda expected a delay under those conditions. I had to use my gps to navigate at idle speed and prayed I wouldnt get run over by someone else. It was bad!! Anyways, only caught 2 keeper LM all day and a couple shorts. One about 2lbs and one about 3lbs both on a wiggle wart. Threw jerkbaits, jigs and spinnerbaits trying to put something together and they just didnt bite for me. The weather last week seemed to change the bite everyday and I never could put together solid pattern. Only thing thats been working for me with any consistency is swimming a grub in the rocky branch area for spots, but I knew a limit of 12-14 inch spots wasnt gonna cash a check so I never went there. Hopefully the weather will get better for a few days and I can get back out there. Gotta do some painting and drywalling this week, but hopefully I can sneak away a day.
