  1. Yeah, I thought so too, if fact I almost told him to put the other one on, don't know why he wears that hat for photo ops. Next time, you see him you'll have to tell him to quit butchering records just so he can eat.
  2. They are definitely spawning fairly well. I caught some eyes last summer that had spit up small 4 inch or so perch at the boat. It would definitely be cool if they came on real strong.
  3. It was 13 1/2 inches long measured correctly. And it was absolutely full of crawdads and eggs. It fell victim to the fillet knife before it was weighed. Fathers are goofy like that. I told him to weigh the darn thing because it was likely a record but, he went, nawwwwwww, piss on it, rather eat it. Whatever. The one he lost was ALOT bigger than that one. He lost it at boatside.
  4. Heres a pic of a 30 incher we got on the upper end on Thursday. Caught a few other mostly around beaver creek on 1 ounce BB and a big chub. Didn't catch anything around Barker and caught them as far down as Cedar Creek.
  5. couple of eyes....wasn't giving that away though.
  6. Don't really care about bass that much, as they do nothing but aggravate me while I am targeting walleye. Caught ALOT of bass, both spots and blacks up the Kings River arm above Hickory Hollow. Prolly caught 50 to 60 fish total in 4 or 5 hours. Quite a few keepers. Caught them on pearl colored Berkley Flicker shads both size 5 and 7 paralelling the bluff banks on the outside bends. I think just about every fish I caught had something sticking out of its gullet whether it be shads tails or crawdad pinchers. A normal steady retrieve was what they were wanting. Also got into a good bunch of sow white bass, all in the 2 1/2 to 3 pound range. Fun, Fun. The river temp above 86 bridge were 46. The water temp by Hickory Hollow was 46. The water in between was 49. Crazy how that works but that was where the fish were. Good luck.
  7. Thanks Cajunangler.
  8. Sounds like a good day to me. With the exception of you guys not catching a single walleye. That is kind of disheartening. Good report guys thanks. Hey you didn't happen to check the water temp did ya? I'll be down Friday fo' sho'. Silver Ranger/Red accents 620vs with kicker motor double console. I'll be lookin for ya'. Hell, I might even teach you guys to walleye fish................Maybe
  9. Oh I like looking at the photos and it was a good report, however, Green fish don't peak my interest either. Bull Shoals= BIG walleyes. But you should keep contributing as there are guys that fish Bull Shoals for bass and appreciate it.
  10. you can still fish em, just cant keep em...
  11. powersite below taneycomo is likely the premiere place to catch walleye from the bank. fish evenings, nights, and early mornings with stickbais
  12. Special Mate crankbait boxes ROCK! I got a couple and are going to buy another. One box holds 120 cranks. Need: Flicker shads Shad raps GS reef runner 800's,700's, reef runner ripshad 400's Bomber Fat frees Deep husky jerks taildancers Oh yeah, make sure you find something we all don't already have because, we ALL need some more. Just makes me want to buy more..LOL
  13. Welcome SM, let us know how you did!
  14. I agree with redbud, worry about yourselves and less about others. Thats one of the problems with the world in which we live. Everyone is worried about what everyone else is doing.
  15. Should work great Jason. Now go buy some cranks and I mean ALOT. Thats the best part of trolling for walleye.
  16. any deeper hole below the dam is a good place to start generally in the slow eddies. I always fished right below the dam. Light generation is the best as it allows you to hold the boat over the fish once you find them. Once you do this a couple of times you will be amazed how much fishing line and crap is bunched up on the bottom and anything but a vertical presentation will result in alot more hang ups. You really can only fish for the ones I catch from a boat. I have heard that guys have caught them on husky jerks on the north bank in the evening and at night but I haven't tried it. The fish should be there right now. Feb. is usually when they get up there.
  17. Fjack, Not this past year so much but years before I fished LOZ ALOT for walleye. I targeted them exclusively when other guys were going after crappie and those other green fish. I think you call them bbbbaaassss. Have caught them up to 9 pounds on loz. Since I haven't been down in awhile, I will tell you to start on the Niangua arm around Haha Tonka and just down the lake. Years ago there was a 14 pounder caught in the area. This is also the area I caught my personal best, but this was late in august. The sows should be staging below haha tonka as we speak. The little niangua is also pretty good. You best chance for numbers is below the dam. Fish a vertically jigged, bright colored 3/8 ounce fireball jig tipped with a minnow right off the bottom. There are big un's below the dam however, you will check more in he 16 to 20 inch range. They are there you just have the patience to exclusively fish for them and find them. IN the lake fish stickbaits and large chubs behind a bottom bouncer. They are there just fish for 'em. Good luck.
  18. I run 8 holders total. Ram 2000's and also run the cabelas brand scottys with quikdraw. I am kind of with martin on this as you would think the quikdraws would be cool, but you still end up pulling the rods all of the way out the front on a strike anyway. The one cool thing is I can run the scottys in my ram holders with no problems. Planer boards are off shore tackle OR12's with tattle flags. Got the tattle flags just because it was something I just had to have. Just don't need them though. Run snapper OR snapper releases on the planer board. I run 2 flat or leadcore lines and 2 with fireline on planer boards.
  19. Any population of blue cats generally hang below shad schools just like white bass or anything else this time of year. They are a roaming catfish. An exception to this are ones that lurk below the lake dams. These generally stack up together in a deep holes somewhere. I used to fish them with spoons and cicadas below LOZ. Best was 20 pounds and lots in the 10 pound range.
  20. caught this one in the niangua arm around haha tonka....just under 9 pounds. There are LOTS of big eyes around just got to find them and know how to fish them.
  21. I generally use 800 series reef runners and they are not that bad to tune. Just a tweek here and a tweek there...the way they catch fish really makes it worth while. I generally get 30 feet out of them with 150 foot of 10 fireline out. I do also use 700 series on leadcore and have very good luck. Next favorite---Flicker shads on leadcore. In the late spring and early summer you really should not have to worry about getting any deeper than its maximum dive depth of about 15 feet. Next--taildancers in tdd 11--they have their times as a wonderful bait. The cabelas knockoffs work well--but I have had better luck with reef runners as they have a very good searching action with the eyes like. Fat frees work very well and have caught alot of walleye on them. Can't really say much about shad raps as I don't use them much. Try to stay with kind of natural hues and tones, but I can't really say that because I saw a guy last year catching a bunch on the HOT TAMALE colored reef runner. Huh. Good luck.
  22. Another week and I'll be around. Hopefully the stickbait bite warms up.
  23. If you get the rods our for people to see, you would likely sell a few of them. Leadcore fishing is a VERY effective way of presenting baits. I think Martin pretty much summed up the basis of leadcoring. What length are the rods? I prefer 7 footers but have seen guys use rods as long as 10 foot.
  24. Thats why I started fishin Bull Shoals. Fighting Table Rock gets old.
  25. Real property is seized all of the time through state courts. You just don't hear about it. Whether it be a meth house, coke house, or any other drug or criminal matter that takes place on a piece of property. If law enforcement responds to it a couple of times, an affadavit can be signed attesting to the number of criminal related calls that had taken place on the property. And whether the landowner was aware or not, he is criminally and civilly liable for anything that takes place on the property. Serves him right!
