  1. Thanks for sharing Laker. The smallmouth on sowbugs is interesting.
  2. Never a mistake dad. Those are nice bass anywhere you go. Thanks for posting.
  3. Glad you two got into em! We have been looking for some good bassin around here. We have done good at other spots on the river, and lakes in the Ozarks but not like that. I look forward to hopefully fishing with you and dad some day as well. I have always done good on lakes but not as well on the rivers, unless floating. We have had some pretty good fishin on floats too, but again, not with that quality. Awesome fish guys! Matt
  4. This is what I'm talking about. Those things are mean and really thrash around. Trying to land one in a kayak would be interesting. Id be ready to get wet. Best of luck though. I'm sure it can and has been done.
  5. What kind of fish do you usually catch from your kayak?
  6. Is your goal to hook one and let it pull you around? lol I'm sure that's what would happen if you tangled with a decent one..
  7. Loon Outdoors makes Stanley's ice-off paste. It helps.. still difficult though. That doesn't help your reel.
  8. Glad to hear you caught some fish today. I bet the ice made it very interesting and a trip to remember. At least you can say you were out there catching fish in that crap! Cheers.
  9. Welcome tot he forum. Good luck in your future ozark adventures.
  10. My goal this year is just to do more fishin!!!!!!!! Probably be busy with home purchasing and such but I'm gonna try. I would say my goal is to break the twenty pound trout barrier, but I think the first one will be easier.
  11. The C&F magnetic hook boxes are AWESOME for your smaller wet flies and nymphs. Smaller being about a 12 and under. Almost unbeatable for midges and scuds. Plus, you can stuff a million of those boxes in you pack compared to others. Real space savers.
  12. There was another thread on this too but I couldn't find it. If I'm not mistaken it was also a poll....
  13. Check this out. New World Record Rainbow
  14. Thanks for the report. I might head down there this week sometime, depends on the weather. Looks like today was the day this week.
  15. you must tie some darn fine knots! Nice fish.
  16. well said. I totally agree about "hunting".
  17. I love that picture. My son cracks me up, look at his expression. lol
  18. interesting topic, i dont live too far from there.
  19. skiing stuff works really good. Designed for movement and persperation, and can withstand some serious cold if you want to fish it.
  20. I was unhooking my boat from the trailer one day and told my wife ( who I let back the trailer up, BIG MISTAKE) to pull it forward a tad. She forgot to take it out of reverse first ad hit the gas and put my Blazer darn near over my rear bumper in water. I was kind of in between the trailer and the car, I was up to my gut in water by the time she stopped. Guess who is never driving again as long as I'm around. lol
  21. Nice brown! I would like to try that water out down there.
  22. That's what I think. Who knows though. If I'm down there again I'll try and ask someone.
  23. I did get some on the san juan. I went through a variety of flies, all were working. Had a bad day with the trees though. Other than that they were slamming it all day.
  24. Good eyes, but not what it bit on. That's my top fly you see. He hit the other fly.
  25. see you down there. Bman and I will be down there. Feel free to holler if ya see us. Chest packs and two matching biga** nets. The river levels do look high and fast from the graphs, but it will be alright. Screw it. Lets go stand in a river on a cold day. Here is one from the first week of c&r.
