Fished yesterday - caught two limits of crappie on flicker shads. Fish were suspended over 40 feet of water - 15-20 feet down. All females with eggs - 10 to 13 inches in length. Caught two limits of walleye - all off one point - 20 feet deep right on the bottom - same thing - flicker shads. Largest walleye was 20 inches.
When I started walleye fishing all of the walleye guys I met would give information freely. It is not unusual for a walleye guy to tell you exactly where they have been fishing, what bait has worked the best, etc. Bass guys...not so much. Why is that?
Went yesterday for the first time on Mozingo. This is a great little lake. We caught our lone walleye in 24 feet of water - crawler/spinner. Caught four - 3 to 4 pound lm, 2 crappie, and a zillion large bluegill. Definately want to try this lake in the Spring.
Every lake is the same. My place at Pomme was CLEANED out! They took fishing poles, tv, lures, air rifle, copper from underneath the cabin. Getting ready to sell the place next Spring.
I like medium action for walleye spoons and jigging raps. Too bad I snapped my favorite rod on the Eleven Point last month trying to get out of Halls Bay.
