Not going to argue weed guard vs sickle hook. Personal preference, really.
I have not had that many problems with Dave's heads hanging up, and the hook-up ratio is outstanding!
Love that roof of the mouth hookset.
But I will disagree on the glue.
If you rely on the hook bend to keep the bait up against the head, then you are more apt to tear the bait, IMO, and it's a little tricky to thread the hook just right to make the hook bend keep the bait up tight.
Once you get a small slit, it makes it tough to keep it all the way up against head without re-hooking or adjusting.
With the glued head, I never have any issues.
I've had the same bait on my Ned rod for the past 3-4 outings, caught dozens of fish with it and haven't done anything to it other than re-tie from line abrasion.
