  1. Which is why Im fly fishing it. I don't think those fish have seen much in the way of flies for them, but maybe they have. Obviously the one I had follow was interested. I have a big crappie fly that I tied as well but got no interest in. Most of my flies are in the 7-13" range for them.
  2. I have a buddy who has seen them crusing the dam in the summer time when it is really warm, that's why I went down to that area. My next area on concentration will be in the top end where the channels are all draining into it. I also need to tie some carp looking flies since they are a secondary forage to them outside the crappie. I would really like to touch one by the end of the year, So Im going to try and put the time in on it. If anyone wants to join in, lets make this happen.
  3. Yeah I didn't get to spend too much time out there plus it was super windy and I was alittle under dressed. I had one follow my fly that was somewhere in the 30-36" range. it was a good sized fish. No eats though. I started on the dam but didn't yield much, plus I kept hitting the brush on my backcasts and a 4/0 hook grabs really easy.
  4. A 7-8" long fire tiger-ish fly.
  5. Not sure that first one is a stone fly, once they hit adult stage they pretty stay out of the water. The bottom picture is a bunch of scuds doing scud things.
  6. muskie fly that shows great promise ( resulted in a follow yesterday fishing it )
  7. I was on 35 yesterday and went out to get skunked by muskie. My plan worked out fantastic!!! ;) just remember, there are no fish at Busch.
  8. Oh and if anyone fishes my moopy zoo lion and catches something, please report it back to me. Im trying to work out any kinks that may be with that fly.
  9. Was only about 6" deep there and maybe 3 feet wide, camera angles are tricky
  10. Shouldn't be a problem, my 13" muskie flies I can get out there pretty good.
  11. I was at BSC a few weeks ago ( mid Feb ) and it seemed about normal. I don't know if it was from cold or what but man...there was NOTHING in that creek. Well, there was something. I caught 2 like this, back to back out of the same riffle then back to nothing. I walked down some more, finally found a school of minnows, then I spoked a 10 and 8" fish out from some logs. that was all I saw the entire stretch. So im think it had to be the weather they were somewhere else. I normally don't catch much there but I usually scare a lot haha. Heres a shot of the creek
  12. man im not gonna be down in springfield area until thanksgiving. bummer. I need to make some of those frogs in pink/purple. I am really digging that purple streamer that came in the swap. This was one of the better swaps Ive been in lately.
  13. I had something similar to that happen with a carp fly swap a couple years ago. eventually they showed up a few weeks after everyone elses flies did, all mangled and crunched packaging. im guessing it feel down between a bin and got kicked around before someone say it. there is hope for them.
  14. Flies showed up at my house today. Everything looks good guys!!
  15. Nice, I like those. I really dig the blue and white combos.
  16. Now were talking!! I know a few ponds that I could tie those in some super outlandish colors and catch the snot out of bass
  17. I want to see a few more pictures of it and what it looks like from the bottom. I need to tie some of those guys up.
  18. Its all good man. I know a few different bugs have been going around getting everyone sick. Feel better!!
  19. That's a carp fly called Damsel in Distress. See the how to here: http://www.thisriveriswild.com/2014/02/tying-damsel-in-distress.html
  20. That's not including all the tiny trout stuff I've been tying as well. many midges and small nymphs I didn't feel like photographing. Winter has been good, the boxes are getting full
  21. They are actually on a Team Catfish baithook. I found them at Dicks and thought they looked good so I gave em a whirl.
  22. Those are the Low Fat minnows. They are SUPER easy to tie. They don't look like much when dry but when they get wet its a whole different fly. its pretty awesome.
  23. Here are MANY THINGS Enjoy!!!!
  24. That video is great! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
