One of my friends just got into fly fishing, I told him a simple rule he needs to make every stream or creek he goes to, he needs to make it look better then when he got there. Slighty confused by this, he simply nodded and said "ah" as he saw me picking up all the trash at the road side parking we had pulled off to and threw it in the trucks bed. Everything I ended up grabbing them went into my recycling bin at home. I always try to make an effort to clean up everyone elses junk.

If you're gonna do one of mike's i guess we should claim a pattern, Im thinking about his meal ticket or the vodoo sasquach

Yes, one that I know you used to post on as well Yeah it was pretty bad, I made a post about it, kept it 100% anonymous, then I got a PM from the guy who sent it in and claimed he would never send used flies, a quick picture of it proved otherwise, then a fire storm started because apparently there were other problems with him and he got banned. It was about the same as a zebra midge for a streamer swap..it was carp flies. Everything I got was good except for the used one and a copy of the used one....which happened to be some half a$$ed attempt at a hares ear on a size 18 fine wire hook...yeah right...carp on that...HAHAHA!!! Im more pleased with the flies I get from people who are just starting out then I was to get that BS. I still have it I think just to prove a point. I think I will tie something of Mike Schmidts, I need to talk to him anyway, might as well get his thoughts.

Im in on this. I missed last summer's swap and felt defeated. Plus I need some good swap karma to come my way. The 2 or maybe 3 I was in were major disappointments and frustrattions ( getting used flies ( ( rusty hooks with tippet attached )) and the other swap was lost in the mail for almost 3 weeks ) I dont know what I'll tie just yet though.

This is, probably the 3rd smallie i've ever caught on a fly rod...and was the second fish of the day. This is my current personal best, not bad from waist deep water

The Great Fish guy isnt doing them anymore. I looked into him doing a rainbow mount for me, but he got sick and stopped doing it. Really bummed me out since he was one of the best ones I had found.

Im wanting to get something new, so the Konic is up for grabs. its a size 4.0, comes with an extra spool. Its only been fished a handful of times, still in excellent condition and properly functioning, the extra spool has two small nicks in it, approximatly 1/16" of an inch long on the edge from falling off my truck but they are only cosmetic. I will post pictures of it later today. To sweatin the deal ( and because I dont want to unspool it all ) there is about 160 yards of #30 backing that I will leave on it. Looking to get $110 out of the whole deal, and that even buys it a ride to your door

I have only been there once and it was probably 15+ yeard ago but it was shallow as all get out then too. I couldnt tell you how many times our boat got stuck just from drifting. we hit the bottom probably every 20 minutes before we decided that boating was over.

Thats a good thing to hear. I have always heard you go bass fishing in the lake....with steel leader....just in case. I need to retie some of my big musky flies, I dont like how they look.

I have a Cabela's branded grizzley cape and its been excellent so far. im very pleased with it and I think i paid 30 bucks for it, which is about what the KCC grizzley is going for and it looks sketchy at best.

I would appreciate a looksie and a report on how its looking now. I plan to take my mom out there for her first ever wild MO trout experiance end of the month/begining of April, so I hope its in decent shape.

Allen reels are great. I have 5 or 6 of them and a couple of lamson and soem sage. The trout II has a sealed drag as well as the lamson now. I have a burnt orange on my redington classic trout and it s swell looking combo. They are also running store credit for their deal of the week so you can get a slight discount on the reel. they ship fast and their warrenty is stand up. You wont be dissapointed with it. I also have a Alpha II in the "superman" color combo that brian posted, its bright as crap and looked awesome out on the flats skiff.

Best so far is about 12-13"....I hope/need to change that this year. i'd just like to catch one this year. its been close to 12 years since i've seen one in person.

Main fly rods are all Sage, from Vantage to TCX. There are also some st croix and a ross. Reels are Sage, Lamson and Allen Fly Fishing. All the line is Sage or SA GPX, so yeah I guess most of my current stuff I actually use in the several hundred dollar range. I figure it was made to be used so why let it set? i treat my 1000+ sage tcx/3850cf combo just as rough as i do my less expensive stuff. thats what warrenties are for.
