  1. You slacker!!!!!!!111111 Y ou should be better at tying them than that!!! (I am friends with Geoff)
  2. Man I wish I had the moneys to help go up there.
  3. So I am wondering what kind and poundage of line people use for trout. It can be for spinning rod or fly rod. I use 2lb P-line for both rods in clear water, but I know I wouldn't be able to land a 6 lb trout on that too easily. Also I know that night fishing it doesn't really matter because they can't see the line at all really. Just curious, if I can use heavier stuff or not. Thanks in advance for the input.
  4. Here's a link. This is where I found out wha they are. If I remember when I get home from work I will take some pics of what I tied. http://www.fishingwithflies.com/Pete's...-PopPopper.html
  5. Gurgle pops are awsome.... they work for bass and gluegill. Also they have so many possible patterns and varieties. Thanks for the post they work awesome in back water ponds.

    "gut" Fly

So has anybody tried out this pattern above to see if it works?
  7. Dahlberg diver size 2 or 4, stike it thru the weeds and bounce it off of the bank. The bass love it!! Usually the brighter the better.
  8. I like the 4 piece for the reason the it packs smaller for travling... but the 2 piece is faster at putting together. I would prefer the 4 but 2 is what i can afford.
  9. I know I should have gone fishing... I am ashamed ... but in my defense we were staying 45 min from Taney, in an awesome house right on Table Rock. I had plans of going night fishing, but after a day of drinking beer I don't think I would have ever found the river. I will be going to BSSP on the 4th to redeem myself of not fishing!
  10. Well to make a long story short, I never made it to Taney, I stayed on Table Rock, the fishing was pretty lame. I did have a blast killing myself on jetskis, and water skiing... my body now hates me. I will have to try again to fish Taney at a later date.
  11. I will update the thread when I get back to see if I found the the right fly or not. Thanks for all of the info guys.
  12. Thank you sir for the input. I am use to fishing at Montauk, which is nothing like Taney, I am guessing.
  13. You say to match the hatch... what would the hatch be to match this time of year?
  14. Thanks for the info, I have a gut fly pattern that I was wanting to try out, but I didn't think that many people cleaned fish in Taney. I will have to use it this weekend and see what I can come up with.
  15. So you are telling me that the trout do feed off of guts down in Taney? Do a lot of people clean fish down there? I am trying to figure out whats good and not good... heading down there this weekend. Thanks
  16. Thanks, I will have to try it sometime when I don't have anything on my line so I don't rip my eye out.
  17. I went flaoting about 3 weeks ago and the water was moving. So I didn't get a chance to fish that much. Thats my 2 cents.
  18. I see that he is the king of night fishing. Sounds like a lot of fun to do night fishin.
  19. Can anybody teach me how to do that??? It is awesome!
  20. I am new to night fishing. You can wade in Taney at night? I thought you could only go out in a boat. I have never been down, but in 2 weeks I will be and I am trying to do some research on how to catch that big brown.... Ahha... or just fish in general. Thanks.
  21. I went on the Jacks Fork the last weekend, caught a small goggle eye and some long ear sunfish. Overall fishing was kinda slow... but the water wasn't. We went from Rymers to Button rock which is about 11 miles in about 5 hours, and we never really paddled. So to say the least the water was movin quik.
  22. I am going to steal Geoff's thread, by saying Hi to everyone as well, he sent me a link to this forum. I am Jon. I pretty much fish whenever I can, usually farm ponds. I live in Godfrey, IL which is just across the river from St. Louis. Always looking for new places to fish, its hard finding streams to fish in IL, typically you will find a pond on some private property before you find a decent stream to fish. Well that's about it, just dropping a line, hopefully I can find some good info on the site. take care. Jon
