Don't that suck??!!
-
That poor fishie. You should be ashamed of yourself, lol. I hope you weren't excited when you caught him, cause that would just be wrong. Try and remember this day when that 5lb Bass hits your top water lure buzzing around a dock later this year. DO NOT get excited. Keep your heart rate at a steady beat. Thanks for the thread, it made my day :>

I'm glad you had a good time. I wish the weather had been better. It was my pleasure to allow you the chance to catch some American Bass. Darrell
-
Thanks for a smooth transaction. Good quality rods, just as advertised.

I think your asking price is about right. Bad economy and snow doesn't help. Have you tried other avenues like CL? I'm just lurking, not buying. Good Luck. Darrell

http://www.brunswick.com/news/newsstories/all.php (Brunswick to Consolidate Aluminum Boat Production) Production of Crestliner and Triton fishboats and pontoons will be integrated into Brunswick manufacturing plants in New York Mills, Minn., Lebanon, Mo., and Fort Wayne, Ind. Both the Crestliner and Triton brands and dealer networks will remain intact, and this change is expected to be transparent to the dealer network. The Little Falls facility will begin to ramp down production in May, and is expected to complete that process in the fall. During that time, as many as 50 percent of Little Falls' current jobs could be transferred to the New York Mills or Lebanon facilities. The company said that it will work with local community leaders and government organizations to help with the transition of affected employees.

I used to work for Lowe boats, and they are owned by Brunswick. We made Lowe, Crestliner, Triton all in the same line. Same boat, different paint and decals. They (Brunswick) bought boat companies like bubblegum, then began shutting them down and moving to other plants. Their goal is to get them all in one or two locations. I can tell you first hand, the bigger the company gets, the worse the quality is. I think it's a shame that these companies are buying up all these brands, cause it will lead to higher prices and less choices.

May I have "Once-in-a-bluemoon"? I caught boatloads in Canada a long time ago, but not recently. I was Crappie fishin last Spring, and caught a little one about 8" and didn't even look at it very close thinking it was a bass, and stuck my thumb in its mouth and was immediately reminded that Walleye have teeth. Needless to say, I carefully look before I pick up another fish.

I was sick too, but nothing stops me from hittin the lake. Not even that little piggy flu. Maybe I need to get together with Wrench, at least that way I'll have a fishin partner. The only bad part about that, is I won't be the only one in the boat that can actually catch a keeper. Why don't you post that pic you caught last trip FC. You know the one, the one where the lure was bigger than the fish. There, jab session over. I'm off to the pond
-
I would have been happy to help you catch something over 6 inches FC, but now that you've mouthed off, I AIN'T HELPIN YA!!!! Vette

Present and accounted for. Be careful of that Cricket member. I'm not sure that's his real name.

Water condition was decent. Didn't catch much in the coves, points or in the running shad, the majority came from condo docks in 30-40ft on buzz baits. They were 12-15" but nothing to write home about.
-
Thanks FishinWrench. Gonna try it tomorrow. Not expecting a lot. Haven't had much good luck this year, so keeping my expectations low that way I'll be quite surprised. HAHA Thanks again
-
Anyone know what the water looks like after this last rain? Muddy, trashy, or decent? Thinkin about going tomorrow, but would like to know before I get there, if it's even worth it.

Thanks Fishinwrench. When I pulled the weight out, I also added 2 batteries in the back just by luck. This is when it picked up 5mph. I'm running 45mph @ 6000rpm with no rooster tail. The engine is as low as it'll go now, prop bite I have no idea. I've tried the local marina that installed the motor, but they aren't interested in helping. Turning is not a problem. The front is as light as it is going to get now, so I'll try moving the motor on the transom, and see what happens. Thank again for your help.

Me too Shaker. I have added sand bags in 25lbs intervals up to 150lbs and no joy. It actually got worse. it goes faster with no weight up front. I'll buy one next spring and give it a shot. I was hoping someone here would have knowledge about it so I wouldn't have to spend the $$$ not knowing if it would help. If I remember, I'll let you know.

Have a question to those that have jack plates. I have a 17' fiberglass w/Yamaha 115 (4 stroke). At 45mph it starts porpusing when I trim it out, and that is the top speed I can go. Would a jack plate help this? I have moved weight around (ie..sand bags, batteries, etc..). I already tried the hydrofoil gimmick, it killed my out of the hole time, and did nothing for top end. Is this the top speed for this HP or should it go faster. On a side note; there was a guy about a month ago or so, that had a tourney boat for sale. Anyone remember the details about it? A friend is looking for a newer(95 or newer) boat w/4 stroke for around 10k or so. Anyone know of one?

This is not the exact tool I have, but it works great. Mine is metal. Very easy. There are many many manufactures of these types. Below is just one I found. http://www.petfooddirect.com/store/product...p;zmap=10410601

Heading Down To The Little And Big Niangua
VIP replied to bourbeusefisher's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
I was at Shawnee Bend last week, and caught mine either chasing shad in the back of coves with spinner bait or frog shaker (I think thats what they call it) also caught a few around shady side of docks in late afternoon early evening. Lots of boat traffic though, very tuff. -
Thanks for the report. I've hit Pomme 3 times this summer and it sucked each time. I enjoy that lake and have been wanting to go back, just waiting on the hit. I'll give it a try Sat Had some good keepers from LOZ last week, but still a very busy area. Anybody heard of any whites there? I need some whites to eat, and LM for fun.
-
I decided to give it another try today, after not doing worth a darn for the last 3 months. Tried everything (well almost) in the tackle box(worms, crankbaits, poppers, didn't try jigs) and every type of location I could; ie... points, coves, docks. I didn't start getting bites until I put on a white Boo-Yah top water lunker lure, and hittin the docks around 20-30+'. I had the lake to myself, except for 2-3 others that I seen. Oh yeah, I was @ Larry Gale access. Had about 10-20 just under 15" and a few over(they went in my pond). Oh yeah, I also went by myself. I'm going to quit inviting people, cause everytime I do, the fishing sucks, and I feel guilty. Plus the boat goes alot faster with just me. I get a little bored talking to my rod, and blaming it for the short strikes, which could have been the world record That's the end of my story. I'm just glad I started catching them again, I thought I was losing my touch. Good luck.
-
We went Wed morning about 5:30am @ Larry Gale Access. Very very slow. I was using a spinnerbait and lunker lure around docks, brush and points, and he was wormin. We caught around 10-15 small ones. No pattern. About 10 minutes before take out, I caught 1 keeper hittin shad, with spinner bait.

Charger makes a good boat. Wish I had one. Plus they aren't corporate owned. The owner is a real good guy. Made in Richland, MO. Goto website, and choose dealers, they had a new looking 2007 for $25k 19' w/200 (listed under new anyway) I couldn't find any prices on smaller ones 17 & 18. I used to work for tracker making aluminium boats a few yrs back, and they were always worried about numbers and not quality. They also had a 2008 Triton 18 Explorer w/115 E-tech for $19k. Triton is owned by Brunswick, and they are the ones that fired over half their employees, including me, so I can't endorse them at this time. LOL JMO
