  1. i like the 10" zoom Ol' Monster in the summer off deep points. I works very well
  2. Look into Boat US . They have a $50 tow allowance with a membership. You can pay for more. They keep you informed and do a lot of good for boaters. They also sell insurance that is reasonable.
  3. I had a pro who was giving a seminar at Bass Pro tell me he always used lo vis green. I switched to that and feel it has helped me catch fish.
  4. I had the problem with the the emgine starting and then dying. If your outboard is an older one, check the gas lines to the outboard. If they have rotted they won't stay primed. They are not a big deal to change.
  5. I tink that the Sportsman's one stop at 00 and 13 advertises ethanol free but it might just 91 octane gas.
  6. I have seen them and caught them in the early spring in main lake bays. I think they spawn earlier than the bass. One spring I was throwing a wart and working it in bays for bass. It was pre spawn for them but I was trying to see if I could catch any bass. I probably caught 6 large carp that day working it slowly. It got to the point where I could see them in a bay and catch one right away. Try it and see if it works again.
  7. I upgraded to color from black and white on my 2006 Triton. I had Lowrance so I stayed with Lowrance because all of the power cords and transducers and gps antenea wires were the same. It saved time and $$. I emailed Lowrance and they told me what would work.
  8. Thanks for all of the great information. I will be at my place on Aunt's Creek next week. Hoping to get some fishing in while I am there. I will try to get to the meeting.
  9. I have a Platinum that won't work in my unit and would be willing to trade it for a gold if anyone is interested
  10. I have bought ETEC bulk oil at Ulrich's. Try there.
  11. I just wanted to say thanks for all the fishing information. I watch this post all the time but havn't been to Table Rock since Nov. We are coming down next week and my son and I will put all this knowledge to work. I'll be around Aunt's Creek with a Blue Triton. I hope to be out every day. Thanks again and hope to see someone.
  12. Make sure it is compatible with the unit. I made that mistake and couldn't load the Hotmaps Platinium on my older Lowrance.
  13. ALL of the suggestions are good. I have my best luck on Zoom Finesse Worms in Cotton Candy color. Good luck and have fun.
  14. Thanks alot guys. If there is a rebate I would be able to use it for sure. Could you send it as an attachment? I have been fishing TR for over 20 years and I am excited to use this GPS. Thanks
  15. Hello; I fish Table Rock and will be using a Lowrance LMS-520 this summer for the first time. I wanted some opinions on what Lake Map program to buy for it. It will stay at Table Rock. Thanks
  16. I wanted to add my 2 cents. I have owned a home in a subdivision on the lake in KC since 1992. I still live in Illinois and the house is locked up too much of the time. I have never had a problem with break ins or anything like that. I kept a boat on a lift too and had no problems except my first Memorial Day weeekend, I left my kids rods out on the boat and they were stolen. I blame myself for that. As for the fishing issues, the guys who don't fish anymore have not updated their boats or equipment. If your retired on a fixed income, a new boat may be hard to justify. The ones that have updated still fish all the time.
