  1. I was going to say the same thing, but from the other bench. I still have scents in the front of my boat, ready to go. But after many, many trips with Quillback not using scents or dies and our catch rate not being noticeably better with one or the other, I very rarely use them. Been a LONG time since I've opened either container, actually.
  2. I hear you. The launch I use for fishing on Beaver is 1/4 mile from my garage door, yet we end up going to TR quite a bit. Just a better bass fishery, for whatever reason. Glad you had a good day on the rock, and happy birthday.
  3. No, we didn't see them. There were not many boats on the water, but they may have gone by us at some point.
  4. I have a sister and her family and my mother that live in Natchitoches, so I visit pretty often. Was just there a couple of weeks ago. Seems a quaint, sleepy little town to me. Very sorry to hear about something like this happening there. Sad new world we're living in these days.
  5. Thanks for the link. Some great info in there. Was watching a fishing show last night, and the guy who won it was fishing a wobble spoon in docks.
  6. Nice fish, m-taylor. But I've read that holding a fish like that, bending it's jaw as the only hold point, can damage them. Might want to just hang him straight up and down for the pictures, rather than risk injuring them. No offense intended, just saying.
  7. Water temp down in the dam area on Friday was a very consistent 50 degrees. We found one small area of 49 degree water.

    Muddy,Muddy

Yes, that was me. Nice job to have done! Hard to believe they went bad in just 5-6 years of use. I'm used to roller trailers from living up north. Not much ever went wrong with those.

Quillback and I had a good time down around the dam. No real pattern to them, though. Caught them all the way in the backs of coves, middle of coves and main lake points. Rock Crawlers, spinner baits, ned, jigs, etc. I thought it was actually a very decent outing for Beaver in its current condition.
  10. Sold to an OAF member. Thanks!
  11. Standard, non-H2 Hydrowave for sale. Everything works perfectly. Everything in the pictures is included, plus 2 large hose clamps to attach it to a trolling motor. All packed in original box. This unit was replaced by the factory because my original one was one of the ones that had an internal fogging issue. So they replaced it, not refurbed, etc. The folks at HydroWave are great to work with. $150 OBO

    Flood Photos

Couple of pictures down the hill from my house, on Old Prairie Creek Road, from just a few minutes ago. Where the old road goes into the lake and where the road is closed. The whole PC cove is very muddy. It's going to be a long winter with high, cold, muddy water to fish in.

    More rain on the way

I saw that on this mornings news. 4-8 inches, they said. Redbox will have another good weekend, it looks like!

    Map Card

That's a great deal for sure! I almost bought one at Cabelas on black friday when they were $649 at the store. But found one online with the Navionics package for only $40 more, which I more than saved by not having to pay the ~10% sales tax in Rogers. They are blowing these out, so a great time to upgrade electronics for sure.

The 899 is an 8" diag screen. Helix 7 is 7", Helix 9 is 9". Folks that have owned both on some of the HB forums tend to say the 899 is the better unit.

You can change the depth offset on HB units with Navionics maps, as well as easily change depth highlights and shallow water alerts. I thought those were HB features, not mapping software features. Either way, you can do those with Navionics, too. I have nothing against Lakemaster, and would probably use them if they had HD maps of the lakes I fish. But missing that is a big deal to me. Hopefully someday they will get busy and start adding at least the major lakes in Ark. Until then, I'm not interested.

    Map Card

According to the Lakemaster documentation on HB's website, no lake in Arkansas has a high definition map, including Beaver. So Navionics still seems like the best choice for this area.
  18. Sorry, it just sold. I think I didn't ask enough for these units!
  19. It was new in 2010. It has more hours, I'm sure. It was my front unit, so it was on a lot. I forgot to check, so I'll have to power it up and let you know. I live not far from "old" downtown Rogers, AR, out by Beaver Lake.
  20. Humminbird 798CI SI NVB Combo -Side Imaging -Down Imaging -Sonar -GPS and mapping -Split screen -Built in Navionics maps of the entire USA, so no having to buy expensive lake map cards Everything is perfect and the unit has always worked flawlessly for me. I bought the unit brand new and put a screen protector on it right away, so there are no screen scratches. I peeled the protector off for the pictures I am posting. All functions work perfectly and it has the latest Humminbird updates along with all the parts needed to install it. Power cable, transducer (never used), transom mount, unit quick release mount and cable collector are all included. GPS is built into this one, so no external GPS antenna is needed. Humminbird does not include the full print manual any longer for their units, so that's nice to have. Comes in the original box with a neoprene Cabela's screen protector also. The screen has one of the highest pixel counts of any HB unit, and the screen is very sharp and clear, even in direct sunlight. $350 OBO http://www.humminbird.com/Products/798ci-SI-Combo/
  21. This has sold.
  22. Thanks Jeff! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Humminbird does not include the full print manual any longer for their units, so that's a real plus on this unit, too. Comes in the original box. $475 OBO
  25. Football Spot! Nice looking fish, Jeff.
