  1. That post cuts right to the heart of the problem here, and if it would have been the second post in this thread, a few of us could have retained some of our dignity by not bothering with this waste of time. Think I'll save that post for future reference, and use it whenever a topic comes up involving politics or religion.
  2. TMC 2487 #14-18 Thread: clear mono Underbody: Sow scud dubbing (.041tan, lt.olive, orange)dub from front to back Shellback: brown D-rib lashed on top and trimmed. Vise & Scissors
  3. Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in.
  4. As far as I can tell, you've made one friend here who secretly thinks you're a moron. I wouldn't worry about what people think of me. I'm done trying to help. Goodbye.
  5. Your "very intelligent men" must have missed a few things, since I believe there have been a few amendments to the Constitution they drafted. Or are you opposed to those changes as well? Society evolves as it learns, and for the most part that's a good thing. It's a losing battle to fight scientific fact with ridiculous partisan rhetoric, and environmental progress will happen with or without you. But no doubt people like you are the reason all of us frogs just might end up boiled before we can jump out of the pot. Thanks a lot for keeping us in here and perpetuating the denial that there's no flame cooking our asses.
  6. Cheers.
  7. I know...I couldn't resist pointing out how that position is in direct conflict with your overpopulation concerns. Just sayin'. What, a progressive? I'm pretty sure they've figured it out. Do what you want, but it's old, dude. It's really old.
  8. IQ of 70 or better...but I guess it's a sliding scale around here.
  9. You ever notice how normal people get tired of stupid signatures after like 2 or 3 days?
  10. Then I guess you're pro-choice and a supporter of birth control. What a liberal douchebag. Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in.
  11. Can't pass it up. Gold like that comes only once in a lifetime. Not to be rude.
  12. Classic!
  13. I drive a 1/2 ton truck, but my business requires that I pull a trailer every day, so it's justified. My wife drives a 4 cylinder Saturn. We use the CF light bulbs and I hate them. We recycle everything we can. I feed stale bread to the birds. I don't let the water run if I'm not using it. We open the shades in the winter and close them in the summer. But as Al said, none of that means very much until all the major industrial countries' governments, including our own, invest in alternative energy technology so we can then regulate industry in order to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and other pollution. The U.S. could lead the way in green energy and get our economy moving again, and be a model for the future for other burgeoning and booming nations like India and China. Who's standing in the way? It's not the liberal douchebags, as you call them.
  14. Jeremy can take my place if it's okay with everyone.
  15. Deep thoughts, by gotmuddy. I guess it's just too complex an issue for you to get your head around, so I'll go back to my usual habit of ignoring everything you say. By the way, a 1.5 degree temperature shift in 150 years is quite significant. Just because gotmuddy believes whatever he chooses, doesn't mean the rest of us have the luxury of denying reality.
  16. Going against my own advice, here: This was the most basic "study" I could think to give you, and this data is undeniable FACT...if you think otherwise, you are simply delusional. Never before in geologic history has average temperature changed so rapidly, aside from catastrophic events such as the asteroid impact that caused the K-T extinction. Furthermore, it occurs to me that since this data IS fact, the burden of proof is actually on your end to show that man is NOT causing climate change, since there is clearly a correlation between increasing man-made CO2 emissions and increasing temperature. No data exists to provide that evidence, but good luck anyway. You can continue to ignore the obvious connection if you want, but you're just lying to yourself for no good reason.
  17. Tim and Al, The Man once said, "If the arrow is straight and the point is slick, it can pierce through dust no matter how thick." The one exception to that rule is gotmuddy...you're just not gonna get through. Keep up the good fight, but don't waste your time on him.
  18. I didn't know they made those in size Shrek. Put that in your signature.
  19. Simms Freestones...$200. That's their cheapest model of waterproof/breathable waders, and as far as I'm concerned just as good as their $800 models, except without all the bells and whistles no one really needs. Get yourself a Cabela's coupon and that'll take care of the tax and keep it under your budget.
  20. I'd say mediocre. Cricket caught a nice brown at dawn. Fish were rising all day to something tiny (and to something I didn't have in my box). Sherwood took quite a few on a #18 Griffiths Gnat, and I got a couple on an olive bugger. Otherwise, slow. Another guy that was there was slaying rainbows on a pink/white/green jig and spinning gear.
  21. It took Sherwood and I 9 hours to drive from Tan Vat back to St. Louis last night. I repeat...9 freaking hours. It was a nightmare, 'nuff said.
  22. More than likely I'll do a pine squirrel leech. Nothing fancy but they're as fishy as it gets. I'll let you know if I change my mind.
  23. The reason that plastic or "rubber" lures are illegal is because of a fish's tendancy to swallow it quickly. Rubberlegs on a fly does not have the same effect. The use of rubberlegs is to cultivate a certain look, not a feel...the same as thousands of other materials used to make thousands of flies, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that they would be illegal. I've heard conflicting stories about what agents have said, some saying they will ticket you for it, and others saying they wouldn't. I'll take my chances if the fish are gobbling up stoneflies and the only nymphs in my box they'll look at are Pat's Rubberlegs.
  24. I agree with that to an extent, except one of those guys got his information from the scientific community, and the other guy got his inforomation from his you-know-where. I'll leave the following trainwreck for the rest of you to have fun with.
