Boating, Trolling & Manners
Buckshotdad1960 replied to brownieman's topic in General Angling Discussion
I always hate to see pictures like that! A man can work his whole life for a little shack on a hill, and then Mother Nature can blow it all away in 5 seconds. Looked like a nice house too. Main thing is though both of you made it out alive and life continues. Life can be a short 8 second ride, sometimes you get up, and sometimes you don’t. Glad to see you made it. Not many men ride a tornado and live to tell about it. -
Hell, that’s some good weed there! UUUHH HUHHH Brownieman, You’re my only friend!

Up in Minnesota I had a bait store where I could buy all different colors of crappie tube jigs. (just the tubes) This place must have had 100 open tubs of tubes. You could buy just one or as many as you wanted for like five cents a piece. Down here you have to buy a whole pack of the same color. Does anyone know where I can find a store like the one in Minnesota where I can pick and choose what I want?

Sounds good to me! But at least you’re catching some. Signed: Hey, where they at!

Knuck Turns The Big 50 Today
Buckshotdad1960 replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
LOL No I’m not just funnin! Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe too. There’s a real possibility that this will happen. The guy who owns Freeze Records is also a disc jockey for www.afbradadio.us that goes by the name Mr. Freeze. If you go to that web site you can scroll down and on the scrolling flags to the left look for his name. If you click it you will go to his myspace page. This guy knows everyone. And don’t be fooled by the word Charity album. I have a feeling that only means I won’t make any money. Eugene (Mr. Freeze) gave me his E-mail address, home phone number and his cell phone number. He seems more egger to have the song made than me. He’s got a friend by the name Ludicrous (not sure if I spelled his name right) who is a black rap artist. I don’t know him from squat but Eugene says he’s the real deal. Eugene wants him to do the song because he feels with his vocals and unique style he’ll sell more records. I don’t care who does it as long as they do a good job. The only problem is that this so called friend won’t do it for free so Eugene is still trying to work this fee deal out. Eugene tells me that if he can’t work out a deal with this rapper then he has people who can still write the music and sing the song for the album. I’ve heard some of their material and their ok I guess. All I get is a copy of the album which by the way will use my songs theme on the cover and I will get to be involved in the making of the covers process. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m excited and hope it all comes down like he says. And I think it will. Keep your fingers crossed for me! -
Knuck Turns The Big 50 Today
Buckshotdad1960 replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
LOL Not a chance! I like to play around rewriting other people’s songs. Thinking them up on your own is too hard and I’m not that smart! I did write one from scratch though. It took me one year to write it and seven years to perfect. The story behind its creation would blow your mind. It’s a pro American War song designed for the troops so it’s not for the hippie love bug. It’s controversial to say the least and the bottom line is I have my fingers crossed that it will be released in a few months on a charity album for the troops. I won’t ever make any money from it but then I never intended too. A record label by the name of Freeze Records has offered to pay for the making of the song. It will be played on the radio overseas in Europe and the Middle East. And to tell you the truth I’m pretty darn excited about it! -

There, I made a couple of changes. Sometimes with these roasts you just have to put down what comes off the top of your head then let it sit a while. When you come back to it later you always see things you should have said differently. Well, at least that’s the way it is with me. -
Yeah your my brother Larry! LOL

Knuck Turns The Big 50 Today
Buckshotdad1960 replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
50! Man that’s old! Ok, one more for the Birthday boy! This is for you knuck, I hope you enjoy it! This is a rewrite of an old Hank Williams song called I’ll never get out of this world alive. I made a couple of changes! HE HE! They call me big knuck and don’t you make me mad I’ve had a lot of luck, but its all been bad No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive My fishin’ poles broke; the creek is full of sand My new girl friend is my old left hand No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive This morning I turned 50 and what a day I went to the lake and I caught one right away But when I grabbed that bass A giant rip popped out my big fat *ss Everything’s agin’ me and it’s got me down If I jumped in the River I’d prob’ly drown No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive I’m poppin’ these Viagra's all the time I’m hopin’ for nine, but four will do just fine No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive All my hair fell out and these teeth aren’t mine Without glasses I would really be blind No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive These shabby shoes I’m wearin’ all the time Are full of holes and nails And brother if I stepped on a worn out dime I bet a nickel I could tell ya if it was heads or tails But I’m not gonna worry, wrinkles in my brow Cause I'll never have no money any how No matter how I struggle and strive I’ll never get out of this world alive HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY KNUCK ! darn, IT SUCKS TO BE YOU OLD MAN! Once again our fearless leader Phil Lilley leads the way! He has provided the maps we need for the James River plus some other maps in another thread. Go to Ozarkanglers.com forum – Ozark’s Lake – Pick Table Rock – Then pick Table Rock maps. Here you can pick the section of River you are interested in or the whole thing at once. Don’t forget to post THANKS LILLEY and keep the thread bumped so other people can find it!

I’m glad to see you found it ok. It’s a small world isn’t it? Do you remember the mans name? Or the boys? How did you run into the owner? Is there still a pile of cedar trees in the hole below the falls? And the signs, are they still up?
-
If that’s the tip of the ice burg then I’m impressed! I knew you where out there. I only hoped that you would be closer. Bull darn shoals! That limits things but alright so you’re the guy that other men knell to and lay down their poles for and hope to kiss your ring as you walk by. I recognize you because I was that guy in Minnesota. The ability to produce quality fish in quantity is an earned gift. I can see you deserve my respect. It’s an honor to meet you but you live to far away to do me any good. Now if you knew places to repeat success like that on Table Rock then we could talk. You know I’m only looking for a few good fish to stock the pond and I’ve already found where I can get them. Even though their nothing like the ones you have there they are the start that I was looking for. I miss those days and nights, you still enjoy, when I was up in Minnesota. But I intend on seeing more of that in 3-5 years. The more crappie I put in the pond the faster it will happen. I live 20 minutes north of Branson so table Rock is not out of my reach but I want to fish crappie every evening in the summer. This 7 Acer pond will be my ticket. And with all that said my search goes on as I hang around the board a little while longer as I see if I can find your twin, only closer. Thanks for showing me the pic’s, you have no idea how good you just made my day! I'm happy!
-
Been there done that and it’s a good idea. I’m only impressed with the fact that you came up with the idea independently on your own. This is one of the first signs you see in the separation of the men from the boys. Although you’ve probably been doing it for some time now it’s becoming obvious that you’re starting to think. However its still not 100% weedless, don’t bury the hook too deep or you’ll miss fish and there is no defense against that crevice rock with your name on it. Give it a hair cut and keep the creative juices flowing, nice job!..........And they said you were retarded! Oh wait, I started that rumor! LOL

Crappies - Learning How To 101
Buckshotdad1960 replied to Buckshotdad1960's topic in General Angling Discussion
http://www.fishingnotes.com/articles.php Yeah well I’m just messing with eric1978 on that but in the real world who do you think makes all these little devils you speak of? Never underestimate your enemy! I hope you recover from the N1 killer for your trip but knowing you even if you still don’t feel good you’ll go anyway. They’ll probably find you dead bobbing up and down face first in the water. That’s because your cold dead hand will still be clutching your fishing pole with a big cat still attached on the other end! LOL I hope you make it back but more importantly I hope your friend is well versed with the lay of the land and knows where to fish for cats. I hear that lake has a good number of blues, channels and flatheads in it but lets be real here. The water temperature there is around 57 degrees and cats are not that active in that temperature. On top of that we have a passing cold front with high pressure right on its heels. My first instinct would not be to bobber fish. Unless your friend knows something I don’t, I would fish the deeper holes with a three way swivel. My rig would be set up like this: I would use a 1 oz bell sinker tied on with lighter line than what is on my reel. That way if you hang up you can break off the sinker without loosing the rest of your rigging. 3 feet above your bell sinker use a three way swivel. One line runs to your pole, the other to your sinker and the third about 2 foot long attached to a kale hook. Kale hooks hook them in the corner of their mouths 95% of the time so have some needle nose pliers handy. Keep your bell sinker in contact with the bottom, bouncing along. Use cut bait like bluegill and leave that hook exposed. Don’t try and hide it in the bait. Catfish have the best smell of any fish that swim. Even so only use a piece of bait for no longer that 10 or 15 minutes. If he has a fish finder target and fish only found fish and leave the guess work for a warmer day. If with the fish finder you’re still having trouble locating fish in the deep holes then get on the points extending from shore. Look for the longest, narrowest, deepest, sharpest drop off to the deepest water in the area. There you should find fish when it’s feeding time. Of course you probably already know all this but what the heck I said it anyways. Good luck and happy hunting just in case I don’t see you again until you get back. P.S. Remember a good fitting, fastened, worn at all times life jacket is the key to quick body recovery! LOL -
Crappies - Learning How To 101

A felony huh? Wow, he better be careful. Beelzebub shouldn’t be smoking anyway! I have a feeling he’s going to hell! LOL Get It? Beelzebub, hell? Sometimes I make a funny! LOL So what have you been fishing for? -
darn it! So you’re saying I can’t call you nipples now? LOL Hey how’d it go on big W? I see you’re still alive!
-
LOL So when did I become a begger? Maybe I need a sign that says WILL WORK FOR CRAPPIE! Oh well as long as I get what I want, I’ll put my shame behind me! LOL So you fish for crappie do you? But do you ever catch anything? Where do you fish, table rock? I have a 2lb crappie hanging on the wall I took from table rock. Too bad it was the only one there, other than that all my son and I caught were 1/4lb and ½lb bluegill. We had a light over the side of the boat that night. I used to be the glass man for Ulrich Marine in Republic then I worked for buddy at Pro Boat repair in Highlandville, and then I started my own business. My first job was a house boat. It was a big job so the owner just threw me the keys and told me I could stay there until I was done. At night I fished out the back where no one could see me. They tell you at these marinas that they don’t want you fishing around them because it creates a hazard for their divers with the broken off fishing line when they check for various problems down below but I think their just trying to hog all the fish! LOL I’ve owned a lot of boats. I buy and sell them basically because I run into all kinds of deals. I never put them in the water and personally I don’t own one. Unless you count my two kayaks and 10 foot v bottom I have at the moment, I’m going to replace the seats in it and sell to a guy I know who wants it. Well I better get my sign and get back to work, keep slammin’ those crappies!
