  1. That does it, GF... you're FIRED!!...
  2. OK, Gavin... Now you're makin' me HON-GREEE!!!! A mudbug omlette... KEWL!!!
  3. Of course then there is the "OAF sucker"... Believeius Anythingius... Those are the ones on this forum that believe anything I say... Quillbacks, Chubsuckers, Redhorses, and some if not all carp... Are these not all considered sucker fish? I suppose anything under the family "Catostomidae" would be considered a sucker?
  4. F2F, Thanks for bringing cooler heads and reason back to this thread... Yes, I think they are just filling Taney back up, but I do hope the few units they are running will give it a nice flush...
  5. Scud in Taneycomo before and after full moon: Scud in Taneycomo DURING full moon:
  6. Dang, Steve... I had an interview in Siloam Springs yesterday and thought I would get to spend some time on the Beaver tail waters with you if I got the job, but that's OK... Congrats on the new job! I try to stop at Mountain River when I'm in Mt Home (if the wife is not with me giving me dirty looks when I whimper as we drive by...) So I'm sure I'll see you there! But beware... You know who some of your new neighbors will be... and in addition, Cindy has a lot of relatives there...
  7. Eggs?... hmmmmm.... How do you like those eggs, Gavin? Corn on the cob out of that shrimp/mudbug boil is really good too... OH... and be sure to sprinkle LOTS of cajun seasoning (good hot kind) over those bugs, spuds, and corn (and eggs?) when you pull 'em out of the boil... Add some ICE COLD beer (Corona is REALLY good with it... or Tequiza) and you have yourself a FINE culinary experience...
  8. Wow, Whodat... you missed a great opportunity there... "GF... I caught them in the mouth..." (Couldn't resist, GF...) Nice stringer! Make a nice supper!
  9. There are several shuttle/rentals in Hardy that work that float... Beach Club is on and Three Rivers (up on the hill behind McDonald's is another. There is some pretty good smallie fishing below Hardy as well...
  10. Good and interesting info...
  11. You sure you've been readin' THIS forum? Just kiddin'.... Welcome to the nuthouse... uh... forum...
  12. For trout? Forget it... Not worth the trouble unless you are canoeing or in a boat... and it's never been a "hot spot" for trout with anyone I've talked to. The trout waters end just downstream from the confluence of Myatt Creek and I've not heard of anyone doing that well down there... probably because of the lack of real access. Good smallmouth and other fishing down that way. Really no access until you get to Hardy unless there's something I missed. If you have a boat, put in at Hardy and motor upstream. You will be in some good water for warmwater fish.
  13. Nuttin' here... anyone got a phone number? email? Did you send him a message, Ducky?
  14. Second the motion on bacon. You can make a trap by taking a two liter "pop" bottle, cutting the top off about 3-4 inches down, inverting it making a funnel to the inside of the bottle, then gluing that in place. http://www.boyslife.org/hobbies-projects/p...comment-page-4/ That's a similar version...
  15. Click here and see if this helps... The White Sucker (Catostomus commersoni) is the one that goes by the name "Sucker"... The others are from the genus "Moxostoma" and are commonly called "Redhorses."
  16. Tightline... exactly... read my last post...
  17. I've got to say in my line of work, I've had the same joke told om me... as have maintenance men, ANY type manager, and a host of others... It was meant as a joke... And I've walked that mile in those moccasins...
  18. Did you hear that, Duckydoty? Now his head will REALLY swell up...
  19. How many CR&B employees will it take to answer your email? Answer: 10 1 to type the answer. 6 to stand around behind the typer and watch making sure he doesn't type too fast. 2 that will be on break. 1 to keep an eye on the clock so they don't miss lunch or qutting time.
  20. GF, To clarify... I am talking about what makes ANY species ANYwhere so-called "native"... Review Al's post in the "Brown Trout in the Eleven Point" thread. Good information and Al has a great deal of knowledge on the subject. But the "argument" - if you want to call it that - is whether the Smallmouth in the streams of MO and AR are really "native" since they migrated from other waters. So my question became, what constitutes "native." But with your comments in mind, does this deem the Smallies here to be "invasive?"
  21. Now THAT'S the most disturbing thing I'VE ever read on here...
  22. Hey Rusty... I just watched Survivorman... it's whale blubber and polar bear meat they eat up there... You're having too good a time up there, Phil... but don't worry... Dano is keepin' us all in line... Nice pics!... Keep 'em comin'!!!... 'cept about three of 'em didn't come through for me... anyone else have that problem?
  23. OK... Not to open up a big can of worms, but just to stimulate some thinking and discussion... Al Agnew had some very interesting facts on another thread about the Smallmouth in the streams of Missouri and Arkansas. While it answered some of my questions, it also lead to some fodder for debate in my opinion... So here goes... As far as any given stream is concerned, what would you consider a "native" fish to be? "Wild" fish, of course, would be those species introduced by man, but then self propogated within that watershed. I would imagine the first generation hatched in the stream (not counting hatched in Whitlock boxes) would be considered wild? But as for native, the waterways were formed at some point in time (no creationism vs. evolution debate, please) and from what we understand, there were no fish in these new streams. Southeast Arkansas was once totally underwater, and the Ozarks were somewhat underwater at some point. Anyway, at what point does the introduction (by nature) of a particular species of fish make it no longer "native" but a part of the natural progression of things and brought about by migration from other waterways? And does this introduction by migration not make them "native" anyway? I am of the opinion that every species of fish (excluding trout of course) was made a part of the White system by this method either as the watershed was formed, or some time thereafter. Just my opinion and I wait in anticipation of your responses... for real, guys... I'm not kiddin'... this time...
  24. Even more disturbing than you having Leonard's baby? Or was it Leonard having your baby? I got to thinkin', by the way... and I know that's dangerous... ... but after I started fishing Taney, we found out Cindy's daughter is having our first (well, Cindy's first) grandchild... Yep... sumpin' is in that water for sure... So who's next on the baby list? Duckydoty?
  25. Go ahead, Phil... Dano needs something to occupy his time...
