  1. Any color suggestions for the Niangua on the Clouser Minnows?
  2. You guys are awesome. This forum is awesome. Fishing is AWESOME! Thanks of all of the valuable info! Yes, we'll be floating from Bennet to Redbeard's.
  3. We're making our first trip to the Niangua River next weekend. We're fly fishing. We'll be doing a float trip with canoes from Redbeard's Ranch. Any advice on flies? Technique? Locations? Etc. Is there a good fly shop nearby? How about good dinner eats?
  4. Why are you holding that rainbow like a largemouth?? LOL!
  5. LOL.
  6. I would love to see browns in the Eleven Point.
  7. Are all of these boats and their guides for hire on the 11? We often have more than 2 people that would like to go on a guided fishing trip, but we prefer drift boats.
  8. We had the same experience on 12/31. A beautiful day, but few fish caught.
  9. That was awesome. Suffering some serious fish envy at the moment.
  10. I've uploaded all of our trip photos: http://picasaweb.goo...01012Taneycomo#. On the first day we think we caught well over 100 fish. On the second day we actually kept count and ended up with 97 fish boated, many more hook ups, we started at like 10am, finished at 5pm, and it was very cold and windy. We lost count of the number of doubles and triples (fishing with three people) and at one point we landed 5 straight fish which we called our "Tiger Slam". On day one, there were 4 generators on, so we fished deep with a gray scud, a peach egg, and an AB shot. We did OK. After the generators shut off around noon, we switched to 2 black/copper zebra midges, no lead weight, and a little foam indicators. We hammered the fish the rest of the day! On day two, there was 1 generator on for awhile and then I think none for the rest of the day. We fished the same zebra midge rig as we did on day one. Kris Nelson was our guide and did an absolutely amazing job, mind-blowing really. He has cabins for his clients to use, he cooks dinner and breakfast, ties flies with you, etc. Very hosptiable and friendly. By the time the trip was over, it felt like he was part of the family. Kris knows the Taneycomo waters like the back of his hand. We were on the fish all day, both days. He understand the water flow and how to fish different situations. He gave us many fly-fishing tips to help us see strikes, hook fish, fight fish, and land fish. He seems to have eyes in the back of his head. Several times he would be untangling a knot or netting a fish and we'd here him say, "Set!!!!". We had an incredible two days on Taneycomo. Thanks, Kirs!!! I hope he doesn't mind me posting this, but if you would like to hire Kris as a guide, you can reach him at Kris Nelson, johnknelson@earthlink.net, 417-839-2762. We found him by accident on a craigslist advertisement. What a gem!
  11. We're fishing Crane Creek next week and were wondering of there were any suggestions for flies, fly sizes, and leader and tippet sizes?
  12. Oh, one last question (maybe). What size hook do you use for those flies?
  13. Thanks for the info. Very cool fly.
  14. I do not understand that sentence. Can you please re-phrase?
  15. How do you fish that pattern? What's your technique?
  16. Ah yes, sorry, missed that on first pass.
  17. Awesome fish. What did you catch him with? And where on the river?
  18. Thanks, Gavin.
  19. What were the flies that worked for you on this trip?
  20. Don't forget the pics. :-D
  21. Amazing photos, sir. Thanks for sharing.
